About your masterclass leaders:
Robert Clews, Head of Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals, Project Finance, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation
Robert is a project financier with over 15 years experience in oil, gas, petrochemicals and power. He has worked on
a variety of project financings in upstream and downstream oil, gas and petrochemicals, including: the Nord Stream
gas pipeline, the Ichthys LNG project, the Satorp Refinery in Saudi Arabia and the Sakhalin II project in Russia.
Robert has experience in arranging project finance debt, negotiating project contracts, project risk analysis, cash
flow modelling and advisory services. He also has experience in raising ECA and MLA finance for non-recourse
financings.
Robert has a BEng in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Petroleum Refining Design and Operation. He is a member
of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the IChemE.
Caroline Smith, Manager, Energy & Natural Resources, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation
Caroline has over ten years’ experience in project finance, across the infrastructure and transportation sectors as well
as energy and natural resources. She joined SMBC in 2007 and is currently acting as lead financial modeller and
financial advisor to the Rabigh Phase II project in Saudi Arabia. Caroline played a lead role in the Ichthys LNG project
and has also been a key part of the arranging team on numerous landmark transactions such as SATORP, Saudi
Polymers and Sakhalin II. Caroline has previously worked on the Infrastructure Project Finance team at Société Générale,
acting as advisor and lead financial modeller on numerous roads projects. She also has significant arranging experience
throughout the EMEA. Caroline started her career at Operis Group plc, where she gained extensive experience in
financial modelling and model due diligence across a wide variety of sectors. Caroline graduated from the University
of Oxford with a Masters in Physics, with Honours.

Payment: If payment is not made at the time of booking, then an invoice will be
issued and must be paid immediately and prior to the start of the event. If
payment has not been received then credit card details will be requested and
payment taken before entry to the event. Bookings made within 7 days of the
event require payment on booking.
Substitutions/Name Changes: If you are unable to attend you may nominate, in
writing, another delegate to take your place at any time prior to the start of the
event. Two or more delegates may not ‘share’ a place at an event. Please make
separate bookings for each delegate.
Cancellation: If you wish to cancel your attendance at an event and you are
unable to send a substitute, then we will refund/credit 50% of the due fee less a
£50 administration charge, providing that cancellation is made in writing and
