    1. 1. Question Two: How effective is thecombination of your main products and ancillary texts? Jenna Pinder
    2. 2. What is a brand?A brand is the idea or image of a specific product or service that consumersconnect with, by identifying the name, logo, slogan, or design of the company whoowns the idea or image. In terms of media branding, this would be a music artistsstyle Branding is when that idea or image is marketed so that it is recognizable bymore and more people, and identified with a certain service or product whenthere are many other companies offering the same service or product. In terms ofmedia branding, this would be a music artists style , hair, makeup that would linkin with the rest of there promotional products such as CD covers and posters.
    3. 3. Pepsi continues to use theirbrand image with the colours, Oreo continues to use their brand imageblue red and white and there with the colours, blue and white and therelogo which is a circular shape logo which is the name of the product inwith the red, white and blue block 3d white letters. They also includestripe. In there advert they have the slogan ‘Milks Favourite Cookie’ to catchused many celebrities to the consumers attention with it being shortpromote their product as people and snappy. In the advert there use younglook up to the likes of Beyonce, children to sell the brand to give thePink and Britney spears as role product a cute factor. The use of humour ismodels and will want to buy a very clever way of selling the brand aswhat there promoting making it people will enjoy watching the advert soa much more high profile brand will be therefore more inclined to buy thein order for them to compete product. This is certainly an advert that canwith there rival brand Coca- be watched many times and is one thatCola. people do remember.
    4. 4. MUSIC BRANDINGBranding in the music industry is used to differentiate between similar music styles, by looking to the artistthemselves. The way an artist is branded can affect how their audience feels about them, and is a way to attract a certainaudience in the first place.A brand for an artist is created through their consistent image, style,mise-en-scene of music videos andartwork and their personality. This brand image may change slightly over time to reflect changes of the artiste.g. them growing up.A successful brand image will be apparent in all of the artists work and will create a clear idea of that artist inthe mind of the audience, so if they see the artists album, they will immediately know who it belongs to. Example of Music Branding From the album cover and stills from her music video, you can quite easily tell that both are connected. A clear brand is created through the use of costumes, setting and colour schemes.
    5. 5. Music Branding ResearchThrough analysing both ‘SomebodyTo Love’ and ‘One Time’ and alsoboth album covers by Justin Bieber, there is an obvious clear trend. Themusic video’s may be different, butthere is a clear iconography in boththrough the use of image such asthe dark clothing and the signaturehairstyle. The colour scheme is alsovery similar in both music videos asyou can see from the stills alongwith sound also. Both Album covers are similar in branding. Both display a picture of Justin Bieber not smiling more showing attitude. The colour white is present in both for his name/title of album and a bold colour is used for the title of song/name. The name of the album hasn’t changed only for the 2.0 to show its his second album, this suggests that’s his style of music hasn’t changed.
    6. 6. The brand image of our chosen artist is Urban, Grunge, Pop. the urban grunge aspectof her image gives her a sharp realistic edge to her music and appearance. how everthe pop aspect stops her from being too obscure and more clean cut. She possessesthe essence of the "good girl gone bad" stereotype yet she still appears to have the airof innocence. Our artist is based on grunge pop artists such as; Dizzee Rascal, Nicki Minaj and Katy B.
    7. 7. Urban, Grunge, PopThroughout our print production and musicvideo our colour scheme is pink, black andwhite. The pink and white reflects the ‘pop’side to our artist which is then contrasted withthe darker colour’s of black/grey to representthe urban grunge.
    8. 8. Our Brand ImageWe used studio location for our music video and printto portray our ‘pop’ genre. For our music video, we used to studio so wecould use green screen which allowed us to selectany background image of our choice, which waspink which followed with our colour schemeWe also used the studio to shoot our images forour print work to give the audience that familiarityso when they looked at either the music video orthe print they would know that both areconnected
