 The immigrant students should be proud of sharing their own
culture and language also, willing to learn the culture and
language of the host country.
Feeling good at school
 If they dont feel they belong to school,
they feel alone.
 They should talk to teachers
with the help of translators and attend
various activities.
Socialization with others
 They need to meet other people and make new friends.
 They can attend various groups.
Meeting parents
 They should be able to share what they learn at school
and the information about the culture of the school
with their families.
Strategies to implement
 In special classes for immigrant students they can
improve their foreign language skills.
 To improve the students’ foreign language skills by
being in dialogue with them.
 To select the proper domain for the students’ talents and skills
and to orient the students.
 To encourage the students to be active in class.
 To be in cooperation with parents.
 To inform and educate teachers about the psychology of the
immigrants.
 The cooperation of the teachers with each other.

8. Turkey. The problems of the immigrant students in education

  • 2. To learn the language of the host country Activities;  Talking to teachers  Watching TV  Going to libraries  Taking individual lessons  Making shopping lists.
  • 3. Accepting the cultural shock  The immigrant students should be proud of sharing their own culture and language also, willing to learn the culture and language of the host country.
  • 4. Feeling good at school  If they dont feel they belong to school, they feel alone.  They should talk to teachers with the help of translators and attend various activities.
  • 5. Socialization with others  They need to meet other people and make new friends.  They can attend various groups.
  • 6. Meeting parents  They should be able to share what they learn at school and the information about the culture of the school with their families.
  • 7. Strategies to implement  In special classes for immigrant students they can improve their foreign language skills.  To improve the students’ foreign language skills by being in dialogue with them.
  • 8.  To select the proper domain for the students’ talents and skills and to orient the students.  To encourage the students to be active in class.
  • 9.  To be in cooperation with parents.  To inform and educate teachers about the psychology of the immigrants.
  • 10.  The cooperation of the teachers with each other.
