  5. 5. Concrete Nouns Can be seen, heard, smelled, tasted or touched Like:rainbows, dogs, cats, houses, leaves, Thunder, etc.

  10. 10. Collective nouns… Act like singular nouns.  For example, you would write:  The tribe is small.  The faculty is large. In both sentences, you use a singular verb because the collective noun is technically singular even though it is talking about more than one person.
