The SCORs are a set of tools we believe can be made even more user friendly and helpful than they already are. The new document is a PDF rather than a Microsoft Word file. There are numerous benefits to utilizing PDFs:• Considerable freedom in formatting and design. Because we can create the layout in InDesign (the software we use for your other large publications) rather than Word, we have much more flexibility in the look of the document. • A bookmark panel is hinged to the left of the document window, allowing users to quickly navigate the document. • The Acrobat toolbar is easy to use, making document navigation and screen navigation simple. • PDFs can be open and viewed across all systems. Acrobat Reader is a free download. PDFs are a safe method for archiving and storing data. Because if this, PDFs are the International Standard for electronic documents. • Can create the PDFs to be accessible for users with disabilities. We can enhance the PDFs so that they can be read with screen readers and used with braille printers. We tweaked some of the language throughout the document to speak to audiences that will use the SCORs in the interactive version on screen, as well as the printed version. Ensured URLs were spelled out, in addition to hyperlinked, so no meaning is lost in translation. The introduction was also customized to speak to the new format. You will also find some handy interactivity throughout the document. • The form on page 67 calculates the total expenditure as numbers are entered. • You can tab through the fields in each section, making it quick to move around. • There are not any character limits in the fields. If the characters surpass the visible area of a field, scroll bars appear to allow additional text in most cases.
