Importance of Early Childhood Education Essay
Importance of Early Childhood Education
Early childhood education is for children from the ages three to eight years old. In
this field there are four learning goals that early programs have for a young child.
The four learning goals are: knowledge (consists of facts, concepts, ideas, and
vocabulary), skills ( small units of action that occur in short period of time),
disposition ( respond to certain situations), and feelings ( emotional states) ( Katz
2003). With an successful care giving and early education, it can bring an positive
outcome to a child s life. What a child learns in their early years are things that will
continue to helps them along in their future in school and in the real world. When a

Not only does early education bring the benefit of interaction, it also lets the child
feel loved and have trust in others. If a child is encountered with early programs then
they are able to meet the needs of their child stage life. If these needs are not properly
met, then they may become less successful in their performance in an educational
environment.
Learning Opportunities
There are many types of learning opportunities that can encourage a child to learn
and help to enhance their abilities. Child care centers are a great way to encourage
a child to learn, and to be ready for the school atmosphere. The Big Top Child Care
Center in Laurel, Maryland have an excellent program for children between two to
nine years of age. They have an environment where teachers are well trained and are
first aid and CPR certified. They enhance a child s learning by providing them with
nutrition, educational field trips, and special events. Elementary schools are the
opening door for early childhood education. Children can begin their learning
experience in pre kindergarten and kindergarten which are the first grades of
elementary education. Ring Factory Elementary located at Harford county in
Maryland is a school that has three kindergarten classes that teach five to six year
olds the beginning of their educational life. Not only are there child care centers and

Two years ago, prior to a major capital budgeting decision (see Case 4), Robert

Early Jamestown Research Paper
Jamestown, Virginia also known as America s birthplace , went through many
hardships and adversities in its first years. The journey from London to the
Chesapeake Bay alone, took four months when it was only to take three. The
rivalry and conflict happening in the ship itself only made matters worse. Once the
colonist arrived to what is now known as Virginia, their conditions only worsened as
food, water, and shelter were scarce. Unlike the Native Americans, the newly arrived
settlers were unprepared to sustain themselves with necessities needed to survive life
in the New World. They foolishly expected the Native Indians to welcome them with
open arms upon their arrival and be willing to supply them with food in exchange for
jewels. Instead
The Marine Air Ground Task Force
On the basis of United States Code, Title 10, and joint doctrine, the Marine Corps, in
coordination and cooperation with the Navy, has made logistical self sufficiency an
essential element of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) expeditionary
warfighting capabilities. This means that the Marine Corps logisticsmission, at all
commands and support levels, is to generate MAGTFs that are rapidly deployable,
self reliant, self sustaining, and flexible and that can rapidly reconstitute (Logistics
Operations, 1999). While the Marine Corps is unmatched in its ability to be the
most rapid responding force across the globe, a deficiency exists that should be
addressed. Over the past decade, there have been numerous successful innovations in
ground and aviation logistics, but they have lacked in standardization or integration
within the MAGTF. Emerging operating concepts such as disaggregated MAGTF
operations and seabasing, along with current fiscal constraints, are driving the need
to further modernize and integrate MAGTF logistics in order to optimize support to
the warfighter (Borrelli Hodge, 2013). Independently, the logistical concepts and
systems that exist for the ground elements and the aviation elements are proven to be
effective and efficient, however, when the aviation and ground elements work in
concert the response of logistical support is hindered. This paper will offer possible
solutions to close the logistics gap between the Marines Corps aviation and

Ancient Egypt was full of mystery. I would like to talk about two well known art
works Akhenaten and His Family and Judgment of Hunefer before Osiri. The
Judgment of Hunefer before Osiris is a scene from a Book of the Dead made in
honor of a man named Hunefer. The Book of the Dead was handed down from
ancient Egypts most famous literature, ancient Egyptian funerary item. The picture
was a graphic Osiris for the dead after the trial. In this picture, the beast head in

Hunefer has passed the test, and is welcomed by Horus, who presents him to the

organs. Hunefer s heart is depicted in a small vase, and Ma at s head is shown at
the top of the scales. In the top register, Hunefer is shown kneeling before 14 gods
of the underworld, as he has finally been accepted into the afterlife. By the time of
the New Kingdom, Egyptians had come to believe that only an individual whose
actions were good would be able to enjoy an afterlife. After death, souls were thought
to undergo a last judgment, in which Osiris, the god of the underworld, would
preside over two tests, supervised by Anubis, the jackal headed god of embalming

Comparing The Integumentary System And Reproductive
System
1. Integumentary System and Reproductive System
Several systems work alongside the integumentary system to keep the body
functioning properly. For instance, the integumentary system and the reproductive
system are dependent on each other. The skin, an organ of the integumentary system,
protects the organs of the reproductive system, such as the uterus. The mammary
glands, highly modified glands that are part of the integumentary system, provide
milk for an infant after its birth. Skin stretches to accommodate a growing fetus in the
uterus as well. The reproductive system has many functions that aid the
integumentary system. Male sex hormones, produced by the testes, activate oil
glands, which lubricate skin and hair, and gonadal hormones stimulate ... Show more

The respiratory system carries out gas exchange; it provides oxygen and disposes
of carbon dioxide from the blood. The pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated
blood from the right ventricle to the lungs where the carbon dioxide is removed
and oxygen is put in. The blood then travels back to the heart where it is pumped
throughout the body through arteries. Carbon dioxide in the form of carbonic acid
and bicarbonate contribute to blood buffering so the pH level of the blood resists
changes. The circulatory system delivers oxygen provided by the respiratory system
throughout the body via arteries, such as the aorta. Veins, such as the superior vena
cava and the inferior vena cava, transport wastes, such as carbon dioxide, out of the

The Importance Of Private Gun Ownership In The United
States
According to gunpolicy.org, there are between 270,000,000 and 310,000,000 guns
held by citizens in the United States. In 2014, 31% of households in the U.S had a
type of a gun. This could lead to serious problems and even death of many people. In
the United States, private ownership of guns should be banned. Private gun
ownership had lead to the death of many people, suicide, and safety problems. To
begin, many people were killed in gun accidents. There were 3.800 killed by
unintentional shooting in between 2005 and 2010, out of those people 1,300 were
under 25. They were young, they had their whole life waiting for them. This problem
only happens in the United Statesbecause it is the only country that approves of
private ownership of guns. In the past, many presidents were assigned or were part
of attempts. For example, John F. Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald with
a rifle on November third, 1963. He is just one of the many presidents who was shot
by a citizen. You would think that after so many murders and dead presidents the U.S
government would make a law against private ownership of guns. But you are wrong.

Essay about Film Versions of Shakespeare Comedies
Film Versions of Shakespeare Comedies
Shakespearean plays are complex, intricate pieces of work in which a diverse range
of interpretations and readings can be made. This is particularly true of his comedies,
where the light hearted humour is often offset by darker, more serious undertones. In
adapting these comedies it is for the director in the cinematic context to decide how to
interpret the play and which elements are privileged and which are suppressed. This
variance in interpretation is exemplified in comparing two of the more recent
cinematic adaptations of Shakespeare s comedies, Trevor Nunn s Twelfth Night and
Kenneth Branagh s A Much Ado About Nothing [ Much Ado ]. Although both films

This action is the first imperative step that leads to the undoing of several characters,

Nunn s adaptation of Feste is not dissimilar to Malvolio with his interpretation of
the professional clown proving persuasive because the fool presents wise insights
into the complicated web of love that many principal characters become entwined
with. His ability to suggest that love is a game, that lovers often love to love, and
that love can be almost blind, are important themes to the attraction and comedy of
the film. However Nunn utilises Feste above the scope of the comedic, with his
poignant insights reminding the audience that this film is in fact dealing with
serious issues and at times, the deeper, disturbing, side of love. In Ben Kingsley s
moving performance, Feste becomes an outsider as a man who lives alone away
from Olivia s house yet somehow witnesses all that occurs amongst the characters
and provides some telling insights. This is illustrated when he shows Olivia why
take away the fool could mean take away the lady, arguing not only to save his job
but also out of a deep compassion for Olivia s grief over her brother s death, and a
desire to show why she need not commit
Tacitus s Influence On The Roman Empire
Tacitus talks about the influence of Agrippina the younger as a sign of weakness of
the principate representing Claudius and Nero as her pawn. Her position of power
as a female to this day is unmatched; known as the granddaughter, daughter, sister,
wife, and mother of men. ( Tacitus) Agrippina, an Imperial woman of the Julio
Claudian bloodline a female Caesar lived through all five of the Julio Claudian
emperors Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero. Agrippina the younger
roles in the empire is recognized but is not credited for the influence she had in
shaping the Roman Empirefrom the time of Claudius to the beginning of Nero s
reign. Tacitus is writing is from the perspective of an old Roman Senator providing
the accounts of Agrippina life in power from a male point of view. His accounts of
her life portray her as a vindictive, scandalous female who has stepped above her
station. (Tacitus) Suetonius another old Roman Senator accounts would agree with
Tacitus in regards to Agrippina s outrageous behavior. However, it can be argued
that she was an emperor while she is not given credit her influence played a huge
part in affecting the direction of the Empire and Roman society especially when it
comes to women in a position of power.
Tacitus and Suetonius provide fragments of the history of the Roman Empire through
the Julio Claudian reign. Agrippina the younger bloodline is strong as a descendant
of Augustus and Agrippa; she s connected to all five emperors.
Environmental Impact Of Environmentalism
As people grew more environmentally conscious conflict about the protection of the
environment and its ecosystem arose, so environmentalists and organizations such
as the Department of Interior s U.S Fish and Wildlife Service fought for greater
protection of endangered species and the Endangered Species Act of 1973 was
passed. However, the passing of this act caused a greater conflict as its economic
role was not clear, and some argued that it would become an economic burden.
Starting in the 1970s, people of the United States began to fight for the protection of
all living things and their habitats, as they saw the damage that the rapidly growing
economy was having on the environment. This is shown through various events and

The ESA provided the establishment of state programs, and the conservation of

the prohibition of the taking, selling, and transportation of those endangered
species (Digest of Federal Resource Laws). However, not everything about the
Endangered Species Act of 1973 was clear as boundaries of how far the act could
go economically to protect the endangered species were not defined. In fact, it did
not have much of a boundary when it came to the economic cost of achieving its
purpose, and this would later become a huge problem because it would cause a
greater divide between those who supported the act and those who did not. This
divide would cause conflict about the protection of endangered species once again.
Even though in its future years the Endangered Species Act of 1973 would have to

problem at hand. It helped preserve the ecosystem by providing the necessary

The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Color Symbolism In The Great Gatsby When F. Scott Fitzgerald was writing The
Great Gatsby, he was not only working as a writer, he was an artist painting a piece
through his words. While making the lives of fictional characters come to life for
the reader, one of the main tools he used to do this was by using the symbolism of
colors. Nick Carraway, the main character, befriends many of the wealthiest and
corrupt people of Long Island, while exposing them for what they truly are in the
journeys he endures with them. His extravagant use of colors to illustrate scenes and
characters helps us determine the symbolism behind them, and how they re used to
expose the true personalities of the characters. There are people who believe
themselves to be pure and honest, while on the inside they truly obtain none of those
qualities. The colorwhite has always been associated with goodness and innocence;
it s usually the color one would think of when imagining an angel or the heavens.
However, Fitzgerald uses this connotation with white in an ironic sense by using it to
describe some of the most corrupt and none innocent people in the story. As Daniel J.
Schneider states in his article on color symbolism in The Great GatsbyWhite
traditionally symbolizes purity, and there is no doubt that Fitzgerald wants to
underscore the ironic disparity between the ostensible purity of Daisy and Jordan and
their actual corruption. Throughout the entire story, Fitzgerald is

Summary Of Troublemakers By Malcolm Gladwell
In the New Yorker article, Troublemakers by Malcolm Gladwell a claim is made
about people who are quick to make bad generalizations, follow stereotypes and
profile. Gladwell introduces the article with a horrific story of a vicious Pitbull
attack on a two and a half year old boy, resulting in a law being passed to ban all
pitbulls. This issue is important because this ban on pitbulls means they are
unnecessarily being punished for traits they may or may not have. Just like a
person may be profiled and punished for a crime they may or may not have
committed. According to Gladwell ,we all tend to make decisions based off of
inaccurate stereotypes like overweight middle aged men to heart attack risk or young
men to bad driving (3).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He dedicates an entire paragraph to prove that you cannot just generalize based off
of one trait. His excessive use of semicolons, arrived late at night; arrived early in
the morning; arrived in the afternoon (18), is meant to make a distinct point that a
person can have many habits or traits and just because they have the one trait you
find suspicious that doesn t mean they are a suspect. This is what is called a
category and trait problem. Gladwell makes this relationship between a category and
trait to emphasize how misleading they are. If we refer back to the story of the pit bull
attack on two year old Jayden Clairoux, we remember that some details were left
out. Gladwell includes these details at the end so that he can change the reader s
perspective. We learn that the three vicious pit bulls were actually neglected dogs to
owner Shridev Cafe. Cafe was an aggressive man, charged with domestic assault, and,
in another incident, involving a street brawl, with aggravated assault (28). Therefore,
his dogs developed his behavior and violent
Stanford Prison Experiment Philip Zimbardo
The Stanford Prison Experiment conducted in 1970 by Zimbardo was an experiment
used to determine human behavior in a negative environment. Psychologist Philip
Zimbardo wanted to determine whether prison guards and prisoner s behaviors were
affected due to their roles. He wanted to see if those roles would deteriorate their
morals and ethics that they had prior to the experiment. He wanted to see what would
happen to an individual who had their dignity and sense of control taken away from
them. The experiment was conducted randomly. A correctional facility was built in
the basement of Stanford University to conduct the experiment. Participants could
apply to the experiment from the newspaper ad which offered fifteen dollars a day
to participate. Participants were placed into two categories. They either had to be a

Analysis Of Marie De FranceBy Marie De France
Marie de France begins her story by describing Bisclavret, her main character, as
well as defining what a werewolf is: a ferocious beast which, when possessed by
this madness, devours men, causes great damage and dwells in vast forests (de
France, 68). She wants to relate the two by allowing the reader to decide what she
means by the descriptions and why she would correlate them. De France does a little
play and twists the monsters throughout her story. Being a werewolf, Bisclavret may
start out as a monster without; and, at first, his wife seems to be so beautiful and
innocent, but there lied a monster within her. Later in the story, Bisclavret is no more
than a human being, and his wife s monstrousness shows from within and she
transforms into a monster without. The themes gathered from this story are the
relationship between love and suffering, justice, and the wife who may be at first
likable, but then changes the way that monsters are viewed. In order to modify the
stereotypes of what a monster is, de France made Bisclavret, a werewolf, the good
guy, and his beautiful wife, an unforeseen bad guy. The wife in the story Bisclavret
portrays a trustworthy, loving wife, until she reacts quite differently to him being
honest with whom he really is. Her character is the very thing, which makes the
reader reconsider the definition of a monster and the truth about monsters within.
The relationship between Bisclavret and his wife seems to be a very good and
healthy bond
The Causes And Negative Effects Of Caffeine
Negative Effects of Caffeine
Drinking over 200 cups of coffee would kill an adult. Coffee has been important
piece in many people lives. It is that important that many homes have coffee or even
instant coffee on the ready. Coffee shops like Starbucks have been a growing
business and is still getting more popular. Many don t even know what kind of
effects coffee has to the human body other than give energy. With that lack of
knowledge of people not knowing what it does to the human body, of the safety
and concern of its consumers, one must look at the history of caffeine, the negative
effects of caffeine, and the alternatives. The origin of caffeine was the origin of
coffee without the knowledge of caffeine being a key piece in the coffee plant.
There was no specific date, but an Ethiopian legend that goat herder found his goats
eating this red fruit that gave them a lot of energy (Avey par. 2). The fruit, Arabica
was native to Ethiopia. The coffee fruit inherently has caffeine. The first recorded
date of the coffee plant was in 15th century where it was cultivated in a large scale in
Yemen (Barksdale par. 2). The Arabic coffee plant had moved from its native land to
become a widely produced crop. Yemen was occupied by the Ottomans around 15th
century; they attempted to keep the coffee plant to themselves to be the only sellers.
Though the Ottomans attempted to keep this plant in Yemen, Muslim pilgrims kept
some with them when they journeyed to southern India. That plant
The Fashion Designer Who Showed Avant Garde Fashion
All of these Japanese fashion designers, Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, and Yohji
Yamamoto passed the same time period in Japan. Though they have their own styles
and differences among them, these fashion designers pursued the same philosophy of
1980 s deconstructionism to create avant garde fashion. And that is certainly evident
in each of their Paris collections, especially their debut shows. Through this fashion
style, Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto
are considered the most successful and internationally known Japanese designers
in the West, and they solidified their position in the French fashion establishment
(Kawamura 92). Issey Miyake is actual the first Japanese fashion designer who
showed avant garde fashion in the West. He is called as the father of anti fashion.
In 1973, Miyake was invited to the group Pret a porter which was created for
French ready to wear institution. There are some young other genius fashion
designers such as Thierry Mugler and Sonia Rykiel. Two years later, he made his
design shop in 1975 and hold his own Paris collection. His unique concept A Piece
of Cloth got a lot of attention and gave an big impact and influence for Western
people. They never seen that kinds of Miyake s unique and creative style of dress
before. His clothingpatterns were very different from the Western styles in that he
restructured the conventional construction of a garment (Cocks 46). His clothes

Symbolism Of The Angel In Shakespeare s Cat Of Tremella
Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell, (William Shakespeare) Lucifer, the
cat from the movie Cinderella (1950), represents the Biblical Lucifer. In the way
that his fall from the tower (1 hour, 11 minutes), portrays Lucifer (Satan) fall from
heaven. Lucifer is an extremely spoiled, imperious, and gluttonous cat, who seems to
disrupt Cinderella plans only making her life harder, showing no appreciation for her
kindness and good nature. He wanted to stay above Cinderella in position. Bruno the
dog represents St. Michaeland how he strikes Luciferdown from heaven. Falling
from the tower is to be considered Lucifer descending from his heaven where he had
everything, just as the biblical Lucifer did.
Lucifer is the precious cat of Tremaine s , the step mother of Cinderella. Lucifer,
his only loyalty lies with that of his mistress, Lady Tremaine, who treats him as
royalty and acts as his mother figures. She fuels him with ignorance, arrogance,
and a superiority complex towards all others. For example, the scene where
Lucifer lays on the bed with lady Tremaine (22 minutes), he creeps onto the bed
and into the shadows, this symbolizes his dark evil essence. As she orders
Cinderella with excessive chores, Lucifer sits high and mighty with a a wide grin of
wicked satisfaction for Cinderella s grief. But when Tremaine says sees Lucifer gets
his bath (23 minutes 30 seconds), Lucifer sighs with discourage, not wanting to wash
away or cleanse the evil that is his
Why Freedom And Equality Is An Artificial Creation
Created...
The aim of this essay is to explore whether freedom and equality is founded on
natural moral principle or whether it is to an extent an artificial creation created by
the political institution. To an extent, I do agree that freedom and equality are based
on natural moral principles because during the state of nature human beings are able
to enjoy freedom and equality as these seem are the rights that humans are borned
along with. Therefore, it is sufficient to say that they exist in respect of the nature and
with the intention from the God. This idea is further supported by many different
philosophers such as John Lockeand Thomas Aquinas. However, to a certain extent, I
believe that political intitution such as law is an artificial tool to help restore
freedom and equality in a society so that people can still enjoy these rights. Through
the theory of social contract, it clearly shows that law plays an important role in
enforcing the instead of the artificial creator of these rights.
To find out whether freedom and equality are rest on natural moral principles, one
has to ask is what the principle means. One of the basic moral principles is to
follow what the nature intends and that is known as the natural law, by making
decisions in respects of the nature of things . In terms of Natural law, it is to follow
what is natural for human beings and the rest of creation. Therefore, I will examine
the freedom and equality during the state of nature in order to prove that they
Max Weber Theory
The fate of our time is characterized by rationalization and intellectualization and,
above all, by the disenchantment of the world Max Weber was a political economist
and social theorist from the late 19th century. He was most well known for his theory
of Weberian bureaucracy and rationalization. Max Weberwas born Maximillian Karl
Emil Weber he was born April 21, 1864 in in Prussia and lived to be 56 and died on
June 14,1920, in Munich, Germany. Weber Was the oldest of 7 kids, and his
father was a prominent civil servant and member of the National Liberal Party, but
Weber was not close to his father and they were estranged until his death in 1897,
due to Weber taking his mothers side during marital fights. His mother Helene was
an absolutist and Weber was very very close with her. It is to be noted that growing
up intellectualism was always valued and even encouraged, at age 13 for
Christmas Weber got his parents two historical essays as gifts and during his
school years he read all 40 volumes of Goethe and this was highly thought to have
influenced some of his later works. Weber started off as a law student in 1882 at
the University of Heidelberg but in 1883 took a year off in 1993 for military
service before transferring to the University of Berlin. Weber passed the Referendar
in 1886 after completing his apprenticeship as a junior lawyer. He continued
studying law throughout the late 1880 s and in 1889 he earned his doctorate based
off his dissertation of legal
The Summer Night In The Summer And The Last Summer
I remember it as if it was yesterday, maybe because it was yesterday. No, I m merely
kidding. It was this summer. Not this coming summer, the last summer. And not
the summer of the year 2016, the one from this year, 2017. What happened that
summer night? Numerous things. It was any other typical summer day for me in
the ole Fritz household. I was getting bored doing things with Hallie, the dog, or by
myself. I thought of a brilliant idea, I ll invite Kennedy over, it s been forever since I
ve seen her. (It hadn t been an extremely long time since I last saw her, we simply
enjoy hanging out.) Accordingly, I called her up and asked, Hey, are you busy
today? Because if not, you should come over to my house and spend the night or
something. She said, No, I m not busy. I need to ask if I can come, I m sure she ll say
yes. I probably need to clean my room first though. Hence, it might be a while. I told
her that was fine and to swing by whenever she was done cleaning, and that was the
end of it. I only had to wait an hour, maybe two, before she arrived at my house. We
were incredibly excited to see each other because, actually, I have no idea why. I
mean yes we re excellent friends, still we saw each other a lot, and we talk, and text
all the time. I don t know, we re weird. We always become excited I suppose. We

The skeletal system consists of the axial skeleton, the appendicular skeleton and
many different bones. The axial skeleton is part of the skeleton, it consists of eighty
bones; twenty eight in the skull and fifty two in the torso. These bones can be found
in the skull bones, the ossicles in the inner ear, the hyoid bone, the rib cage, sternum
and the vertebral column.

For example, cranial bones protect the brain, vertebrae protect the spinal cord, and the
ribcage protects the heart and lungs. Skeletal muscles are attached to bones,
therefore when the associated muscles contract they cause bones to move. Bone
tissues store several minerals, including calcium and phosphorus. When required,
the bone releases minerals into the blood which facilitate the amount of minerals
in the body. The red bone marrow inside some larger bones is where blood cells are
produced. With increasing age some bone marrow changes from red bone marrow
to yellow bone marrow . Yellow bone marrow consists mainly of adipose cells, and a
few blood cells. It is an important chemical energy
Essay on Genocide in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Democratic Republic of the Congo, a.k.a. the DRC, or more commonly the
Congo , has experienced an endless nightmare of violence, poverty, famine,
sickness, and murder for the past 16 years. The constant bloodshed between the
national and armed forces has led to countless civilian deaths, or the genocide in
the Congo. Before I go on any further, I must explain what a genocide is. A
genocide is the attempted destruction of an entire group of people. The most
famous example is the Holocaust in which 6 million Jews were murdered during
World War II. It is tragic to say that history has repeated itself and over 5 to 7 million
Congolese civilians have lost their lives since 1996. In order to truly understand the
events that are transpiring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The war lasted for 5 years and took place entirely in the Congo, resulting in the
deaths of 5 million Congolese civilians, most to to starvation or sickness (BBC

(BBC News). In 2001, Kabila was assassinated, leading to him being replaced by
his son Joseph Kabila (ECI). According to the Eastern Congo Initiative, the Congo
held its first democratic elections in 2006, with Kabila being elected. At the same
time, however, multiple armed groups gained power and began fighting over
control of mineral resources in the Eastern Congo, resulting in more civilian lives.
To this day they still continue to fight, and despite multiple peace treaties, the
violence does not end (ECI). At these moments, life in the Congo is a living
nightmare. The eastern provinces of the Congo see violence every day. Women
are getting raped at alarming rates. Children are constantly abused and forced to
become child soldiers. There are no sources of medicine or even clean water.
Anyone can get murdered at any time, and no one is even safe in their own homes.
According to ICRtoP, the Democratic Republic of Congo is reported to be the rape
capital of the world with an estimated 15,000 rape cases in the Congo s eastern
provinces alone. Rape is a tool of war used by the various armed forces in the Congo

A. In my essay will explain how an understanding of human growth and
development can assist the counsellor in responding to the needs of the client. I
have chosen three theories in three different models. My first model is
psychodynamic and I will look at Sigmund frauds theory of development. The
second model is humanistic and I will be covering Rogers and Maslow. My last
model I will cover in this essay is social Erikson s lifespan development theory. My
essay will look at the theories and the application of each theory and I shall explain

Art And The Bible Summary
Art and the Bible, written by Francis A. Schaefer, is a short, simple to the point
book regarding how a Christian should approach art. The book is divided into two
sections. Section one is title Art in the Bible and section two is titled Some
Perspectives on Art. Section one gives examples of art within the scriptures. This
art includes things such as the patterns and details of the tabernacle and the temple,
King Solomon s throne, Jesus use of art, the poetry and music of David, other
music, drama and dance. Schaeffer concludes section one with a discussion on the
art detailed in the descriptions of Heaven. In section two, Schaeffer gives eleven
perspectives the Christian can use to consider and evaluate works of art (Schaeffer
50). The first and most important listed is A work of art has value in itself

Although, I have heard them before, when Schaeffer describe the details within
scripture, the beauty of it all really sunk in for me, more so with the temple and the
tabernacle, because these were details laid out by God himself. To really create a
mental image of what God had laid out for these structures is amazing. I found all
of the perspectives that Schaeffer lists to evaluate art very interesting. The one
perspective that really sparked my thinking was Christian art is by no means always
religious art (Schaeffer 88). Schaeffer explains how God created more than just
religious things during creation, such as flowers, birds, etc. and that these things are
worthy of being painted, photographed, wrote about, sung about, etc. Therefore, as a
Christian artist, every one of our works does not have to be religious in nature.
Everything in God s beautiful creation is worth creating art out
Nonconformity In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest
People worry too much about reaching society s standards that they forget to be
themselves. People get caught up trying to fit into categories in society. Society
has people separated into groups where they have similar styles or looks. One Flew
Over the Cuckoo s Nest, a children s literature drama by Ken Kesey expresses his
criticism of society by telling the story of what went on in the hospitalward. The
patients in the ward have this problem, the idea of reaching these standards is forced
upon them. Nurse Ratched uses intimidationand weaknesses to ensure the patients
will give up their will to rebel against the injustices. In One Flew Over the

During McMurphy s first group meeting, Bromden mentally describes how society
affects a person and what it does to social outcasts How a guy has to learn to get
along with a group before he ll be able to function in a normal society; how society is
what decides who is sane and who isn t so you got to measure up. (Kesey 49) To be
accepted by society it is necessary to understand and be able to socialize or work with
a smaller group before going into society. The purpose of the combineis to change
people and teach them that being their own person is wrong and won t be accepted
by others. The combine is defined by Bromden as an organization that works to fix
people and decide who is sane, or who satisfies the expectations. Kesey expresses
his nonconformist views about how society treats outcasts. During the staff
meeting, Nurse Ratched listens to what her staff members have to say and then
interrupts them when she felt appropriate. The staff members tried to guess what
ideas would satisfy her need for power. As the staff meeting was going on she
interrupts and takes her time explaining her solution and takes a sip of her coffee I
stare at the rim of the cup in spite of myself; she couldn t be wearing lipstick that
color. (Kesey 157) The tone of Bromden s thought process is surprised and in
disbelief because he did not see Nurse Ratched s feminine side. The lipstick
represents the femininity that opposes the representation of the combine. Kesey uses
the lipstick and Bromden s reaction to seeing the lipstick to express the combine is
considered a masculine strong type of power. Because Nurse Ratched is caught using
lipstick, the combine is showing what they consider to be weakness, this would
further elaborate to Kesey s nonconformist views that could change what society
thinks of it s determined outcasts. The
The Conference Of The Birds And Dante Alighieri s Inferno
The overall purpose of The Conference of the Birds and Dante Alighieri s Inferno
was to motivate and inspire the specific demographic within their audiences who
already believed in and practiced the texts respective denominations to continue on
with their spiritual journeys. This is demonstrated by the main protagonists
spiritual journeys, the consequences of sin they both experience and witness, as
well as how they relate to the audience. This topic is significant due to the fact that
the two texts analyzed are examples of religious propaganda. The texts might also
prove to be important and valuable to those that practice either of the two discussed
religions, as the allegories could be used as a reminder of why spiritual journeys
exist and how they can impact those who embark on them. One could easily make a
case that this is the true reason why these were written through close analyzation of
the text. The journeys depicted in the texts show the personal, spiritual growth and
shift within the two main characters outlook on God in the selected texts. This
persuades believers of these two religions to continue on spiritual journeys of their
own because they too are prone to benefit from spiritual growth and development.
This is supported by quotes such as, So may God grant you, reader, the benefit from
reading of my poem... (CantoXX, 457). Although similar in the fact that both their
main characters grow and experience change, it is necessary to first understand that

exerted by the passing air on its fixed wings and driven by propellers, jet

hot air balloons, Gliders, kites and more inventions that we see today in the 20th
century. The Wright Brothers took some of these creative inventions and made
their own innovation that we see and use today as an average way of
transportation. The airplane has adapted to the American society over the years.
There were more and more airplanes being upgraded and fixed until eventually it
was normal to get on a plane as a way to travel long distances in a short amount of

The inequality between the Great Britain Colonies in Great Britain and the US was
one of the long term causes of the Revolution. These variations mainly dealt with
issues such as declaratory acts, rights, the proclamation and taxation, sugar act and
the intolerable acts. The British took over France s colonies in North America after
the War between the French and India. Britain wanted its colonies to realize that it
was in charge. Consequently, they made an effort to control the economic and
political affairs in their colonies. American colonies dissented this British strategy
since they were not content being under British rule. The British used their
superiority to enact laws in the parliament. Unfortunately, Americans did not hold any
representative seats in parliament. Undoubtedly, Americans felt that the British were
infringing on their rights, which sparked a revolution.
The Intolerable Acts was another long term cause of the revolution. It was a

say that the central government is in charge of the value of money. Thus, states do
not have any control regarding the value of the dollar in both cases. The third
similarity is that each constitution set specific term limits for all offices in the

Richard I Biography
Richard the I is a famous King of England that was alive in the 12th century, and
one of the earliest monarchs of England. He was the Great Great Grandson of
William the Conqueror(Brundage, 10). He was a member of the House of
Angevin, which was composed of him, his father, and his brother John(Brundage,
12). He is a relatively famous King of England, renowned for his fighting skills,
and nickname Richard Coeur de Lion translated Richard the Lionheart . Richard
was born on the 8th of September, 1157 in Oxford, England(Brundage, 9). He was
the son of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine(Brundage, 9). He had 4
legitimate brothers, William IX(Count of Poitiers), Henry the Young King,
Geoffrey II(Duke of Brittany), and John(King of England)(Brundage, 10). William
IX died before Richard was born. Richard grew up in Europe with his mother. He
most likely did not know very much English and spoke mostly French(Brundage,
21). At the age of 14, he became the Duke of Aquitaine, an area of land in the
southwest of France controlled by his mother. Richard learnt most of his battle
skills in Aquitaine, and this is really where he became the warrior we see later on
in his life. ADD THESIS. When considering the effect that Richard may have had on

Richard, as we have seen, was a great warrior. This was probably one of the major
reasons why we still remember him today. He was given the name Richard the
Lionheart as a testament to his fighting skills. The name Richard the Lionheart
probably captured many people s attentions throughout history, because of its fear
and power associated with such a name. The name also allows for a romanticization
of the Kings of England, because the name Lionheart could easily be thought of as a
brave man in shining armour heading out to save a

Similarities Between Gilgamesh And The Flood Of Noah
The earth will end only when God declares it s time to be over. Man will not
destroy this earth. This earth will not be destroyed by a flood, says John Shimkus, a
U.S representative and devout member of his Lutheran church in Illinois. In the epic
of Gilgamesh and the Flood of Noah, both stories depict deluges meant to wash the
sin and wickedness from man. Both floods are global, both characters righteous, and
both men experience some kind of salvation after surviving the spate. Thus, they
allow the redemption of humankind. The flood is new beginning, a fresh wash of an
existence that humans have tainted and after they are graciously allowed a second
chance by their benevolent God(s). In both accounts, God chooses a righteous man to

Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes individuals to have frequent seizures.
However, originally epilepsy was not considered a biological or medical issue.
Rather, It was said to be some sort of curse summoned by spirits or wrathful deities.
Famed ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates, was the first individual to document
epilepsy correctly as a biological disorder in 400 B.C. Although Hippocrates
incorrectly believed epilepsy to be a condition caused by the imbalance of certain
bodily fluids, he did correctly conclude that the condition was natural and
neurological. Centuries later English neurologist, John Hughlings Jackson, accurately
determined that seizures resulted from excessive electrical discharges ... Show more

Importance of EarlyChildhood Education Essay Importance of Early Childhood Education Early childhood education is for children from the ages three to eight years old. In this field there are four learning goals that early programs have for a young child. The four learning goals are: knowledge (consists of facts, concepts, ideas, and vocabulary), skills ( small units of action that occur in short period of time), disposition ( respond to certain situations), and feelings ( emotional states) ( Katz 2003). The journey from London to the Chesapeake Bay alone, took four months when it was only to take three. The rivalry and conflict happening in the ship itself only made matters worse. Once the colonist arrived to what is now known as Virginia, their conditions only worsened as food, water, and shelter were scarce. They foolishly expected the Native Indians to welcome them with open arms upon their arrival and be willing to supply them with food in exchange for jewels. Instead

The Marine AirGround Task Force On the basis of United States Code, Title 10, and joint doctrine, the Marine Corps, in coordination and cooperation with the Navy, has made logistical self sufficiency an essential element of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) expeditionary warfighting capabilities. This means that the Marine Corps logisticsmission, at all commands and support levels, is to generate MAGTFs that are rapidly deployable, self reliant, self sustaining, and flexible and that can rapidly reconstitute (Logistics Operations, 1999). While the Marine Corps is unmatched in its ability to be the most rapid responding force across the globe, a deficiency exists that should be addressed. Over the past decade, there have been numerous successful innovations in ground and aviation logistics, but they have lacked in standardization or integration within the MAGTF. Emerging operating concepts such as disaggregated MAGTF operations and seabasing, along with current fiscal constraints, are driving the need to further modernize and integrate MAGTF logistics in order to optimize support to the warfighter (Borrelli Hodge, 2013). Independently, the logistical concepts and systems that exist for the ground elements and the aviation elements are proven to be effective and efficient, however, when the aviation and ground elements work in concert the response of logistical support is hindered. This paper will offer possible solutions to close the logistics gap between the Marines Corps aviation and

The mammary glands, highly modified glands that are part of the integumentary system, provide milk for an infant after its birth. Skin stretches to accommodate a growing fetus in the uterus as well. Agrippina the younger roles in the empire is recognized but is not credited for the influence she had in shaping the Roman Empirefrom the time of Claudius to the beginning of Nero s reign. Tacitus is writing is from the perspective of an old Roman Senator providing the accounts of Agrippina life in power from a male point of view. His accounts of her life portray her as a vindictive, scandalous female who has stepped above her station. (Tacitus) Suetonius another old Roman Senator accounts would agree with Tacitus in regards to Agrippina s outrageous behavior. However, it can be argued that she was an emperor while she is not given credit her influence played a huge part in affecting the direction of the Empire and Roman society especially when it comes to women in a position of power. Tacitus and Suetonius provide fragments of the history of the Roman Empire through the Julio Claudian reign. Agrippina the younger bloodline is strong as a descendant of Augustus and Agrippa; she s connected to all five emperors.

Environmental Impact OfEnvironmentalism As people grew more environmentally conscious conflict about the protection of the environment and its ecosystem arose, so environmentalists and organizations such as the Department of Interior s U.S Fish and Wildlife Service fought for greater protection of endangered species and the Endangered Species Act of 1973 was passed. However, the passing of this act caused a greater conflict as its economic role was not clear, and some argued that it would become an economic burden. Starting in the 1970s, people of the United States began to fight for the protection of all living things and their habitats, as they saw the damage that the rapidly growing economy was having on the environment. This is shown through various events and acts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ESA provided the establishment of state programs, and the conservation of ecosystems upon which threatened and endangered species of fish, wildlife, and plants depend (Digest of Federal Resource Laws). To conserve the ecosystem, the ESA first listed the species they decided were endangered, and then they enforced the prohibition of the taking, selling, and transportation of those endangered species (Digest of Federal Resource Laws). However, not everything about the Endangered Species Act of 1973 was clear as boundaries of how far the act could go economically to protect the endangered species were not defined. In fact, it did not have much of a boundary when it came to the economic cost of achieving its purpose, and this would later become a huge problem because it would cause a greater divide between those who supported the act and those who did not. This divide would cause conflict about the protection of endangered species once again. Even though in its future years the Endangered Species Act of 1973 would have to be revised, when it first came out it was a great solution to the environmental problem at hand. It helped preserve the ecosystem by providing the necessary resources required to create a safe environment for species in need. (INSERT SOMETHING ABOUT SECTION 7 IN THIS PARAGRAPH) There were no set economic boundaries when it came to the Endangered Species Act of 1973, so a conflict arose in which the Tennessee Valley Authority ended up

The Great Gatsby,by F. Scott Fitzgerald Color Symbolism In The Great Gatsby When F. Scott Fitzgerald was writing The Great Gatsby, he was not only working as a writer, he was an artist painting a piece through his words. While making the lives of fictional characters come to life for the reader, one of the main tools he used to do this was by using the symbolism of colors. Nick Carraway, the main character, befriends many of the wealthiest and corrupt people of Long Island, while exposing them for what they truly are in the journeys he endures with them. His extravagant use of colors to illustrate scenes and characters helps us determine the symbolism behind them, and how they re used to expose the true personalities of the characters. There are people who believe themselves to be pure and honest, while on the inside they truly obtain none of those qualities. The colorwhite has always been associated with goodness and innocence; it s usually the color one would think of when imagining an angel or the heavens. However, Fitzgerald uses this connotation with white in an ironic sense by using it to describe some of the most corrupt and none innocent people in the story. As Daniel J. Schneider states in his article on color symbolism in The Great GatsbyWhite traditionally symbolizes purity, and there is no doubt that Fitzgerald wants to underscore the ironic disparity between the ostensible purity of Daisy and Jordan and their actual corruption. Throughout the entire story, Fitzgerald is

Summary Of TroublemakersBy Malcolm Gladwell In the New Yorker article, Troublemakers by Malcolm Gladwell a claim is made about people who are quick to make bad generalizations, follow stereotypes and profile. Gladwell introduces the article with a horrific story of a vicious Pitbull attack on a two and a half year old boy, resulting in a law being passed to ban all pitbulls. This issue is important because this ban on pitbulls means they are unnecessarily being punished for traits they may or may not have. Just like a person may be profiled and punished for a crime they may or may not have committed. According to Gladwell ,we all tend to make decisions based off of inaccurate stereotypes like overweight middle aged men to heart attack risk or young men to bad driving (3).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He dedicates an entire paragraph to prove that you cannot just generalize based off of one trait. His excessive use of semicolons, arrived late at night; arrived early in the morning; arrived in the afternoon (18), is meant to make a distinct point that a person can have many habits or traits and just because they have the one trait you find suspicious that doesn t mean they are a suspect. This is what is called a category and trait problem. Gladwell makes this relationship between a category and trait to emphasize how misleading they are. If we refer back to the story of the pit bull attack on two year old Jayden Clairoux, we remember that some details were left out. Gladwell includes these details at the end so that he can change the reader s perspective. We learn that the three vicious pit bulls were actually neglected dogs to owner Shridev Cafe. Cafe was an aggressive man, charged with domestic assault, and, in another incident, involving a street brawl, with aggravated assault (28). Therefore, his dogs developed his behavior and violent

Stanford Prison ExperimentPhilip Zimbardo The Stanford Prison Experiment conducted in 1970 by Zimbardo was an experiment used to determine human behavior in a negative environment. Psychologist Philip Zimbardo wanted to determine whether prison guards and prisoner s behaviors were affected due to their roles. He wanted to see if those roles would deteriorate their morals and ethics that they had prior to the experiment. He wanted to see what would happen to an individual who had their dignity and sense of control taken away from them. The experiment was conducted randomly. A correctional facility was built in the basement of Stanford University to conduct the experiment. Participants could apply to the experiment from the newspaper ad which offered fifteen dollars a day to participate. Participants were placed into two categories. They either had to be a prisonguard or a prisoner. The prison guards wore clothing that were similar to military outfits and were given wooded baton and shades that prevented eye contact. Due to the shades, guards felt less conscious of how to treat prisoners. Prisoners however were dressed in short clothing and were identified by their number. Analysis Of MarieDe FranceBy Marie De France Marie de France begins her story by describing Bisclavret, her main character, as well as defining what a werewolf is: a ferocious beast which, when possessed by this madness, devours men, causes great damage and dwells in vast forests (de France, 68). She wants to relate the two by allowing the reader to decide what she means by the descriptions and why she would correlate them. De France does a little play and twists the monsters throughout her story. Being a werewolf, Bisclavret may start out as a monster without; and, at first, his wife seems to be so beautiful and innocent, but there lied a monster within her. Later in the story, Bisclavret is no more than a human being, and his wife s monstrousness shows from within and she transforms into a monster without. The themes gathered from this story are the relationship between love and suffering, justice, and the wife who may be at first likable, but then changes the way that monsters are viewed. In order to modify the stereotypes of what a monster is, de France made Bisclavret, a werewolf, the good guy, and his beautiful wife, an unforeseen bad guy. The wife in the story Bisclavret portrays a trustworthy, loving wife, until she reacts quite differently to him being honest with whom he really is. Her character is the very thing, which makes the reader reconsider the definition of a monster and the truth about monsters within. The relationship between Bisclavret and his wife seems to be a very good and healthy bond

The Causes AndNegative Effects Of Caffeine Negative Effects of Caffeine Drinking over 200 cups of coffee would kill an adult. Coffee has been important piece in many people lives. It is that important that many homes have coffee or even instant coffee on the ready. Coffee shops like Starbucks have been a growing business and is still getting more popular. Many don t even know what kind of effects coffee has to the human body other than give energy. With that lack of knowledge of people not knowing what it does to the human body, of the safety and concern of its consumers, one must look at the history of caffeine, the negative effects of caffeine, and the alternatives. The origin of caffeine was the origin of coffee without the knowledge of caffeine being a key piece in the coffee plant. There was no specific date, but an Ethiopian legend that goat herder found his goats eating this red fruit that gave them a lot of energy (Avey par. 2). The fruit, Arabica was native to Ethiopia. The coffee fruit inherently has caffeine. The first recorded date of the coffee plant was in 15th century where it was cultivated in a large scale in Yemen (Barksdale par. 2). The Arabic coffee plant had moved from its native land to become a widely produced crop. Yemen was occupied by the Ottomans around 15th century; they attempted to keep the coffee plant to themselves to be the only sellers. Though the Ottomans attempted to keep this plant in Yemen, Muslim pilgrims kept some with them when they journeyed to southern India. That plant

The Fashion DesignerWho Showed Avant Garde Fashion All of these Japanese fashion designers, Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, and Yohji Yamamoto passed the same time period in Japan. Though they have their own styles and differences among them, these fashion designers pursued the same philosophy of 1980 s deconstructionism to create avant garde fashion. Why Freedom AndEquality Is An Artificial Creation Created... The aim of this essay is to explore whether freedom and equality is founded on natural moral principle or whether it is to an extent an artificial creation created by the political institution. To an extent, I do agree that freedom and equality are based on natural moral principles because during the state of nature human beings are able to enjoy freedom and equality as these seem are the rights that humans are borned along with. Therefore, it is sufficient to say that they exist in respect of the nature and with the intention from the God. This idea is further supported by many different philosophers such as John Lockeand Thomas Aquinas. However, to a certain extent, I believe that political intitution such as law is an artificial tool to help restore freedom and equality in a society so that people can still enjoy these rights. Through the theory of social contract, it clearly shows that law plays an important role in enforcing the instead of the artificial creator of these rights. To find out whether freedom and equality are rest on natural moral principles, one has to ask is what the principle means. One of the basic moral principles is to follow what the nature intends and that is known as the natural law, by making decisions in respects of the nature of things . In terms of Natural law, it is to follow what is natural for human beings and the rest of creation. Therefore, I will examine the freedom and equality during the state of nature in order to prove that they

Not this coming summer, the last summer. And not the summer of the year 2016, the one from this year, 2017. What happened that summer night? Numerous things. It was any other typical summer day for me in the ole Fritz household. I was getting bored doing things with Hallie, the dog, or by myself. I thought of a brilliant idea, I ll invite Kennedy over, it s been forever since I ve seen her. (It hadn t been an extremely long time since I last saw her, we simply enjoy hanging out.) Accordingly, I called her up and asked, Hey, are you busy today? Because if not, you should come over to my house and spend the night or something. She said, No, I m not busy. I need to ask if I can come, I m sure she ll say yes. I probably need to clean my room first though. Hence, it might be a while. I told her that was fine and to swing by whenever she was done cleaning, and that was the end of it. I only had to wait an hour, maybe two, before she arrived at my house. We were incredibly excited to see each other because, actually, I have no idea why. I mean yes we re excellent friends, still we saw each other a lot, and we talk, and text all the time. I don t know, we re weird. We always become excited I suppose. We were comparable to when you come home from a vacation and your dog goes crazy because they re happy to see you. Essay on Genocidein the Democratic Republic of the Congo The Democratic Republic of the Congo, a.k.a. the DRC, or more commonly the Congo , has experienced an endless nightmare of violence, poverty, famine, sickness, and murder for the past 16 years. The constant bloodshed between the national and armed forces has led to countless civilian deaths, or the genocide in the Congo. Before I go on any further, I must explain what a genocide is. A genocide is the attempted destruction of an entire group of people. The most famous example is the Holocaust in which 6 million Jews were murdered during World War II. It is tragic to say that history has repeated itself and over 5 to 7 million Congolese civilians have lost their lives since 1996. In order to truly understand the events that are transpiring... According to the Eastern Congo Initiative, the Congo held its first democratic elections in 2006, with Kabila being elected. At the same time, however, multiple armed groups gained power and began fighting over control of mineral resources in the Eastern Congo, resulting in more civilian lives. To this day they still continue to fight, and despite multiple peace treaties, the violence does not end (ECI). At these moments, life in the Congo is a living nightmare. The eastern provinces of the Congo see violence every day. Women are getting raped at alarming rates. Children are constantly abused and forced to become child soldiers. There are no sources of medicine or even clean water. Anyone can get murdered at any time, and no one is even safe in their own homes. According to ICRtoP, the Democratic Republic of Congo is reported to be the rape capital of the world with an estimated 15,000 rape cases in the Congo s eastern provinces alone. Art And TheBible Summary Art and the Bible, written by Francis A. Schaefer, is a short, simple to the point book regarding how a Christian should approach art. The book is divided into two sections. Section one is title Art in the Bible and section two is titled Some Perspectives on Art. Section one gives examples of art within the scriptures. This art includes things such as the patterns and details of the tabernacle and the temple, King Solomon s throne, Jesus use of art, the poetry and music of David, other music, drama and dance. Schaeffer concludes section one with a discussion on the art detailed in the descriptions of Heaven. In section two, Schaeffer gives eleven perspectives the Christian can use to consider and evaluate works of art (Schaeffer 50). The one perspective that really sparked my thinking was Christian art is by no means always religious art (Schaeffer 88). Schaeffer explains how God created more than just religious things during creation, such as flowers, birds, etc. and that these things are worthy of being painted, photographed, wrote about, sung about, etc. Therefore, as a Christian artist, every one of our works does not have to be religious in nature. The Conference OfThe Birds And Dante Alighieri s Inferno The overall purpose of The Conference of the Birds and Dante Alighieri s Inferno was to motivate and inspire the specific demographic within their audiences who already believed in and practiced the texts respective denominations to continue on with their spiritual journeys. This is demonstrated by the main protagonists spiritual journeys, the consequences of sin they both experience and witness, as well as how they relate to the audience. This topic is significant due to the fact that the two texts analyzed are examples of religious propaganda. The texts might also prove to be important and valuable to those that practice either of the two discussed religions, as the allegories could be used as a reminder of why spiritual journeys exist and how they can impact those who embark on them. One could easily make a case that this is the true reason why these were written through close analyzation of the text. The journeys depicted in the texts show the personal, spiritual growth and shift within the two main characters outlook on God in the selected texts. This persuades believers of these two religions to continue on spiritual journeys of their own because they too are prone to benefit from spiritual growth and development. This is supported by quotes such as, So may God grant you, reader, the benefit from reading of my poem... (CantoXX, 457). Although similar in the fact that both their main characters grow and experience change, it is necessary to first understand that

Similarities Between TheArticles Of Confederation And The... The inequality between the Great Britain Colonies in Great Britain and the US was one of the long term causes of the Revolution. These variations mainly dealt with issues such as declaratory acts, rights, the proclamation and taxation, sugar act and the intolerable acts. The British took over France s colonies in North America after the War between the French and India. Britain wanted its colonies to realize that it was in charge. Consequently, they made an effort to control the economic and political affairs in their colonies. American colonies dissented this British strategy since they were not content being under British rule. The British used their superiority to enact laws in the parliament. Unfortunately, Americans did not hold any representative seats in parliament. Undoubtedly, Americans felt that the British were infringing on their rights, which sparked a revolution. Richard, as we have seen, was a great warrior. This was probably one of the major reasons why we still remember him today. He was given the name Richard the Lionheart as a testament to his fighting skills. The name Richard the Lionheart probably captured many people s attentions throughout history, because of its fear and power associated with such a name. The name also allows for a romanticization of the Kings of England, because the name Lionheart could easily be thought of as a brave man in shining armour heading out to save a

The source of thought and reason. Perhaps, it was to somehow inflict Voldemort s values and beliefs into Harry s mind to join the Death Eaters, so that way the Lord could ensure one of his horcruxes safety. Makes sense as to why Voldemort never killed nor could kill Harry or else he d lose a fragment of himself. The meaning of lightning bolt has meant power evident in the God of Gods: Zeus. Even in the anime One Piece, it is even said that the one power mankind has never overpowered was lightning. You can draw the energy to a lightning rod however its powers are evident. To be struck by lightning usually means death because the body cannot handle the one billion joules of energy a bolt creates. Therefore, it is almost unheard of that Harry Potter survived such a traumatic experience of being stuck by Voldemort s dark magic symbolically equal to lightning. Is to withstand lightning equivalent to overcoming nature? This ability is certain to be deemed utter madness, for in all of history human have been at the hand of nature. We cannot live through an Ice Age, survive a hurricane nor live to tell the tale of the beauty and terror of an arriving tsunami. Yet, with the surviving Potter it is to every magic user s dismay how he survived. Similar to man

Similarities Between GilgameshAnd The Flood Of Noah The earth will end only when God declares it s time to be over. Man will not destroy this earth. This earth will not be destroyed by a flood, says John Shimkus, a U.S representative and devout member of his Lutheran church in Illinois. In the epic of Gilgamesh and the Flood of Noah, both stories depict deluges meant to wash the sin and wickedness from man. Both floods are global, both characters righteous, and both men experience some kind of salvation after surviving the spate. Thus, they allow the redemption of humankind. The flood is new beginning, a fresh wash of an existence that humans have tainted and after they are graciously allowed a second chance by their benevolent God(s). In both accounts, God chooses a righteous man to construct
