WALK AND CHARGE
TECHNOLOGY
BASIC IDEA
 This technique is designed to ensure that our cellphones
and other electronics gazets never run out of power while
we are on our daily walk and thereby getting two jobs
done together.
 The basic idea is to convert our bio mechanical energy
into electricity to charge our devices and phones.

INTRODUCTION
What Is WnC About ?
 As electronic gezets are flooding our market the problem of getting
them charged is going to be a concern.So one of the best solution is
WnC Technology.
 This is about to convert our day to day walk into electricity for charging.
Why WnC ?
 Eco friendly.
 Utilise our daily walk and run.
 Lesser dependency on wall based charging.
 Keeping devices and phones power up
TECHNIQUES OF W&C
1: Dynamo based
 Reciprocating motion during walking is first converted into
rotatory motion and then is fed to small dynamo.
2:PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIAL BASED
 As dynamo based WnC have several limitations so it is not preferred
1-May be little heavy.
2-Thread breaks frequently.
So piezo based device is preferred.
Piezoelectric materials generate electricity when force is applied to
them , called Piezoelectricity.
MAKING W&C ENABLED FOOTWEAR
STEP:1-Components & Tools
 Shoes
 Piezo elements x14
 Rechargeable battery
 Hot glue gun w/ hot glue
 Soldering iron + solder
 Foam/cardboard
 1n4001 - 1N4007 Diodes (x4)
 IC 7805
 Capacitor 22uF
 Things that are HELPFUL:
 Multimeter
 ruler/caliper
STEP:2-MEASURING SHOE AND
PRINTING FILES
 Creation of holes on plastic base to put
piezoelements into them.
STEP:3-GLUEING PIEZOELEMENTS
 Fix piezo-elements in depressions created on
plastic base.
 Check piezo-elements by multimeter before
glueing.
STEP:4-SOLDERING
 Connect all piezo-elements together in parallel
combination.
 Positive soldered tegether and negative soldered
together.
 This combination provide high current.
STEP:5-BUILDING RECTIFIER CIRCUIT WITH
FILTER AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR
 To get smooth dc.
 To get regulated voltage.
 COMPLETE CIRCUITORY
STEP:6-INSTALLATION
 Whole piezo-element in system is placed beneth
sole
 Rectifier circuit is placed in a safety box with USB
connector.
STATISTICS OF ENERGY PRODUCTION
o A Dynamo based WnC
 3.5 watt power at 4km/hr pace of walking.
 20 min of walk can charge phone for calling for 1
hr,enough for day.
 .1% of indian can save 2.25 tonnes carbon
emmision per day ,.
o A Piezo based WnC
 Single piezo-element can produce 150mW &~1v
 Many elements in parallel produce enough current
to charge phones
LARGE SCALE APPLICATION
 Piezo based WnC device can be installed beneth
floors of
 crowded public places like stations ,dance bars,
offices,streets and colleges.


 If .1% of indian population use this,can
generate1500kW/h energy.
 This can reduce 2.25 tonnes carbon emission/day
 Clean,portable & inexpensive alternate of wall
based charging.

Walk and charge Technology

  • 2. BASIC IDEA  This technique is designed to ensure that our cellphones and other electronics gazets never run out of power while we are on our daily walk and thereby getting two jobs done together.  The basic idea is to convert our bio mechanical energy into electricity to charge our devices and phones.

INTRODUCTION What Is WnC About ?  As electronic gezets are flooding our market the problem of getting them charged is going to be a concern.So one of the best solution is WnC Technology.  This is about to convert our day to day walk into electricity for charging. Why WnC ?  Eco friendly.  Utilise our daily walk and run.  Lesser dependency on wall based charging.  Keeping devices and phones power up
  • 5. TECHNIQUES OF W&C 1: Dynamo based  Reciprocating motion during walking is first converted into rotatory motion and then is fed to small dynamo.
  • 6. 2:PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIAL BASED  As dynamo based WnC have several limitations so it is not preferred 1-May be little heavy. 2-Thread breaks frequently. So piezo based device is preferred. Piezoelectric materials generate electricity when force is applied to them , called Piezoelectricity.
  • 7. MAKING W&C ENABLED FOOTWEAR STEP:1-Components & Tools  Shoes  Piezo elements x14  Rechargeable battery  Hot glue gun w/ hot glue  Soldering iron + solder  Foam/cardboard  1n4001 - 1N4007 Diodes (x4)  IC 7805  Capacitor 22uF  Things that are HELPFUL:  Multimeter  ruler/caliper
  • 8. STEP:2-MEASURING SHOE AND PRINTING FILES  Creation of holes on plastic base to put piezoelements into them.
  • 9. STEP:3-GLUEING PIEZOELEMENTS  Fix piezo-elements in depressions created on plastic base.  Check piezo-elements by multimeter before glueing.
  • 10. STEP:4-SOLDERING  Connect all piezo-elements together in parallel combination.  Positive soldered tegether and negative soldered together.  This combination provide high current.
  • 11. STEP:5-BUILDING RECTIFIER CIRCUIT WITH FILTER AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR  To get smooth dc.  To get regulated voltage.  COMPLETE CIRCUITORY
  • 12. STEP:6-INSTALLATION  Whole piezo-element in system is placed beneth sole  Rectifier circuit is placed in a safety box with USB connector.

STATISTICS OF ENERGY PRODUCTION o A Dynamo based WnC  3.5 watt power at 4km/hr pace of walking.  20 min of walk can charge phone for calling for 1 hr,enough for day.  .1% of indian can save 2.25 tonnes carbon emmision per day ,. o A Piezo based WnC  Single piezo-element can produce 150mW &~1v  Many elements in parallel produce enough current to charge phones

  • 17. CONCLUSION  If .1% of indian population use this,can generate1500kW/h energy.  This can reduce 2.25 tonnes carbon emission/day  Clean,portable & inexpensive alternate of wall based charging.
