Hydraulic Systems and Pressure
PASCAL LAW:
Pascal Law – which
is the basis for all
hydraulic systems,
is named after the
French Scientist –
Blaise Pascal, who
established the law.
What is a hydraulic system?
A hydraulic system is a technology that uses
pressurized, incompressible fluid—typically oil—to
generate, control, and transmit power. Operating
on Pascal's Law, it allows a small input force to be
multiplied into an immense mechanical output
force, which makes it ideal for lifting and moving
heavy loads
Pascal’s Law explains how pressure applied to a confined fluid is
transmitted equally in all directions. This fundamental principle is the
basis of hydraulic systems such as car lifts, hydraulic brakes, presses,
and heavy machinery. Understanding Pascal’s Law helps us see how
a small input force can be multiplied into a much larger output force
using fluid pressure.
