Electricity is usually carried by wires or batteries to power machines, lighting and heat. It was discovered over 2000 years ago by the Greeks. Three potential dangers of electricity are playing with plugs or sockets, near overhead cables, or near train lines. These dangers can be avoided by using child proof outlet covers, keeping electrical items away from water, and replacing damaged cords. Electricity travels to homes through conductors.
