a) It is the recognition of who God is.

6 O come let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel
before the Lord our maker.
7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His
pasture, And the sheep of His hand.

b) It is reverence for God.
Psalm 5:7
But as for me, I will come into Your house in the
multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship
toward your holy temple.

c) It is communion with God.

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must
worship in spirit and truth.”

hypocrisy, as prescribed by the Word of God. (His
Word is truth)

its master), to prostrate, to adore and revere

Who we worship influences who we are and what we will
become
2 CORINTHIANS 3:17-18
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the
glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image
from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

We become more aware of and experience God’s presence

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

As kings and priests, we are positioned to worship and
empowered to reign

nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the
praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His
marvellous light;

• It is a choice we make.
• We go beyond our emotions to focus on the
unchanging truth of who God is.
• In doing so, we elevate the truth above our
circumstances.
• In doing so, we invite God’s rule and reign that changes
the very atmosphere of our difficult cirumstances.
