Over the last two centuries, biodiversity loss and
species extinction have skyrocketed, and
experts warn that humans may have triggered
or out planet is facing the verge of a mass
extinction.


To combat this crisis, a conscious utilization of
artificial intelligence (AI) is needed in
conservation efforts. This approach offers the
opportunity to mitigate biodiversity loss and
pave the way for innovative solutions, which are
presented in the following slides.

The Red List Index shows trends in overall extinction risk for groups of species. It is an index between 0 and 1. A value
of 1 indicates that there is no current extinction risk to any of the included species. A value of 0 would mean that all
included species are extinct.

ecological importance and informs conservation
and management decisions.
