At the World Climate Summit held in Paris, our Prime Minister committed
to a sustainable lifestyle as a way to reduce the global warming.
To make this commitment a reality, we have conceptualized a novel idea to
rejuvenate the rural economy with a carbon negative agricultural produce
that can generate tremendous job opportunities at the village level, which
will stop farmers from committing suicide and mass migration from villages
to the cities.
Using better cultivation method, like water harvesting, producing bio
charcoal and compost to increase land fertility organically, we aim to
reduce the dependency on hazardous fossil fuels, plastics, cottons, paper
from wood pulp, concrete and other degradable products, that causes
havoc to our ecology.
From food, cloth, paper, building material, biodegradable plastics, fuel oil;
everything should be generated from the fields of rural India and
processed at the village level to sustain the ever growing needs of the
modern civilization.
On 19th March, our PM at the Pusa Agricultural Fair suggested the farmers
to not only do farming but also do something else.......
This project could be that- “farming + something else" our PM was
referring to, and could also fulfill our obligation to create a sustainable
lifestyle.

since hemp has a low lignin content compared to wood,
it can be turned to pulp easily.
no chlorine bleaching is required as this pulp is
naturally very bright. otherwise in traditional paper mills, a
toxic chemical called dioxin is released into the
environment due to the chlorine bleach.
hemp is also compatible with the new soy-based binders
rather than the harsh binders that give off formaldehyde.
this reduces air pollution and health hazards to
human and animal life.
the quality of paper obtained from hemp is more
durable and does not lose its color even after many
years.
hemp paper can be recycled 7 or 8 times, as
compared to only 2 – 3 times for tree-based paper.

as a carbon negative and versatile raw material, hemp industry
needs less toxic chemicals to process and produces far less toxic
wastes compared to any other industry.
due to negative campaign, demonization and criminalization for
the last 70-80 years, hemp industries could not be investigated by
the scientists properly and thoroughly. the rate of development of
all other industries at this time period shows a phenomenon
technological growth unmatched in human history, whereas hemp
has been neglected for reasons other then science!
the day decorticator machine was invented in 1937, and being
termed as the new billion dollar crop, hemp cultivation was
banned.
the situation has changes dramatically now.
due to the global warming, nations and industries are searching
for new biodegradable materials that is sustainable, easy on
ecology and produces least carbon foot print.
the re-introduction of hemp and its thousands of products will
definitely change the way we are living in. the ability of hemp to

the cultivation of hemp in india is vital in our battle to reduce pollution,
ecological degradation, conserving precious water resources, improving
soil quality and providing jobs at a large scale to our rural people.
hemp is unmatched as a means of sequestering CO2 and binding it
permanently in the materials it is manufactured into.
the accreditation of hemp as a generator of carbon credits will make its
cultivation more attractive. in addition, the plant is robust and has a
large variety of uses as paper, textile, shelter, plastic, high impact
composite and biofuel.
the widespread cultivation of hemp in india will give a much needed
economic and sustainable boost to remote village areas and areas
suffering high unemployment and hardship.

hemp is one of the fastest growing biomasses known,
producing up to 4.5 tons of dry matter per acre.
the Hemp Industries Association (HIA) shows that the total
retail value of hemp products in the U.S. in 2013 was $581
million. which includes food and body products, clothing, auto
parts, building materials, and other products.
oil crops and fiber crops are two different varieties
crops for oil takes 90 to 120 days to mature
I acre produces app. 400 kg of seeds, from which app. 100l tr of oil and app. 250kg

crops for fiber takes 70 to 90 days to mature. the crop yields 4.5 tons of dry stock
250 kg of leaves, producing 30 kg of cbd oil as medicines, for insect and fungus
repellent with cow and buffalo urine (as pesticide) and 200 kg of biomass
3 tons of woody core for biomass and cellulose industry, cement, paper, plastic,

production methodology
testing of soil is a must before cultivating.
hemp can be grown on a wide variety of soil types.
hemp prefers a sufficiently deep, well-aerated soil with a
pH of 7.2 to 7.5, along with good moisture and nutrient
holding capacity.
this can easily be achieved through organic method
with bio charcoal and compost.
a fine, firm seedbed is required for fast, uniform
germination of hemp seeds. conventional seedbed
preparation and drilling are probably ideal. the seedlings
will not emerge uniformly if the seed is placed at a depth
greater than 50mm or 2inches.
hemp field produces a very large bulk of plant material in
a short vegetative period, so increasing water and
nutrients produces a faster growth.
hemp is an extremely efficient weed suppressor. no
chemicals are needed for growing this crop. industrial
hemp is a low maintenance crop. a normal stand of 200 to
300 plants per square meter shades out the weeds,
leaving the fields weed-free at harvest.
soil should be
fertilized with
organic fertilizer,
bio charcoal and
compost.
added benefits will
be the carbon
sequestration

putting organically
produced charcoal
and organic waste

multi level farming
India’s coal requirement for the year 2016 = 80,00,00,000 tons
India's petroleum oil requirement for same = 20,00,00,000 tons
total = 1 billion tons
now I acre of hemp biomass produces 4 tons of biofuel
and 100 kg of seed oil and a few hybrid can give you 1 ton of seed oil.
for 1 billion tons of fuel we need 1/2 million sq km of land
if we use multiple level, cloud technology and hydroponics,
we can generate 100 times more seeds oil and biomass per year,
India's total land 3.3 million sq km
4th national report submitted to UNCCD secretariat stats :
about 69 percent of India is dry land, arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid and
these areas are heavily populated, 70% of India's poor, marginal and small
farmers lives in these areas
that means 2.4 million sq km is dry, arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid
and 1.6 million sq km is cultivated land, (around 53%)
so if we cultivate one crop on these land, we can replace all the coal for
power generation and fossil fuel for transport, plastic and other industries. as
hemp can grow on arid land easily, plus adding organic nutrients in these soil,
will be the ultimate utilization these land and increasing the productivity of
those downtrodden people who lives there, will give rise to a economically
healthy village community and reduce suicide and migration.

will be able to do more farming in
those remaining 6 months,
with better soil and organic regime….
a conservative estimation
requires 70 - 90 days to mature
ultimate goal
development of cooperative farming in a organic way, putting the
organic west civilization produces in the field as bio charcoal and compost
creating new industries and jobs
like food, raw materials for everything, will out-flow from the villages
connecting rural india with digital india, aadhaar and many other govt.’s projects
every villager will get benefited through jan dhan yojna, gramin vikas yojna
whole system to become self sufficient inter connected chain
with phenomenal growth potential
if a minimum amount of tax is added (1% or 2% ), a huge
revenue can be generated for the betterment of the society
environment will be cooler, cleaner and greener supporting sustainable lifestyle
hunger, malnutrition will be tackled easily
reducing the burden on health sector
exploitation and suicide will be reduced at village level
exodus & migration from villages to cities will be reduced greatly
even chance of a reverse migration possible
those polluting old industries like fossil fuel, power generation, fertilizer, mining,
paper, cotton, construction, sewage and affluent treatment …. all can easily
adopt this very old material and save the earth.

Sustainable lifestyle

  • 1. At the World Climate Summit held in Paris, our Prime Minister committed to a sustainable lifestyle as a way to reduce the global warming. To make this commitment a reality, we have conceptualized a novel idea to rejuvenate the rural economy with a carbon negative agricultural produce that can generate tremendous job opportunities at the village level, which will stop farmers from committing suicide and mass migration from villages to the cities. Using better cultivation method, like water harvesting, producing bio charcoal and compost to increase land fertility organically, we aim to reduce the dependency on hazardous fossil fuels, plastics, cottons, paper from wood pulp, concrete and other degradable products, that causes havoc to our ecology. From food, cloth, paper, building material, biodegradable plastics, fuel oil; everything should be generated from the fields of rural India and processed at the village level to sustain the ever growing needs of the modern civilization. On 19th March, our PM at the Pusa Agricultural Fair suggested the farmers to not only do farming but also do something else....... This project could be that- “farming + something else" our PM was referring to, and could also fulfill our obligation to create a sustainable lifestyle. a green global initiative
  • 4. trillion dollar crop with a sequestering carbon at every stage reducing the dependency on fossil fuel less mining stopping deforestation phytoremediation less global warming henry ford once said : “why use up the forests which were centuries in the making and the mines which required ages to lay down, if we can get the equivalent of forest and mineral products in the fields ?” for sustainable lifestyle
  • 5. fuel biodegradable plastics food cloth shelter paper medicine oil & paint hemp graphene nanocarbon of the future and many more……… the trillion dollar crop saves ecology starts up industry creates job being weed, hemp is an easy crop to cultivate and provides rural economy with a versatile raw material for everyday use and the ability to create a robust and a sustainable economy catering to the ever growing needs of modern civilization versatile resilient to forces hemp cannabis sativa a variety of bhang without the “high” for sustainable lifestyle make in india according to our mythology “when gods were running away with amrita from asuras, a drop fell on earth where bhang plant grew” startupindiastandupindia
  • 6. the ultimate crop hemp seeds stalks leaves roots seed hearts hulled seeds seed oil protein power food supplements medicine mulch composite animal bedding industrial products bio diesel paints varnishes printing ink solvents coatings body care soaps balms lotions shampoos cosmetics clothing diapers handbags denim shoes fine fabrics currency cigarette specialty printing newsprint cardboard packaging textiles industrial textiles paper biodegradable plastic from shiv building materials from cellophane to dynamite, 20,000 applications hempcrete, hemp plastic, fiberboard, insulation, acrylics & mouldings, fiberglass replacement food ropes, canvas, traps netting, sealing, carpeting, moulded parts 4 times more than a forest yield medicine takes out toxins & radiation, keeps the soil nutrient rich for arthritis, eczema, joint pain, fibromyalgia high impact products durable, strong as steel, next to carbon fiber, food packaging with edible plastic, easy to recycle low cost highly effective carbon nano sheets for super capacitors, technical filters healthy soil for sustainable lifestyle fiber shiv make in india startupindiastandupindia
  • 7. replaces todays harmful plastics with biodegradable, recyclable non toxic plastics, made from hemp cellulose bio fuel and bio diesel produced from hemp should replace all fossil fuels as a primary source of transport fuel and generating power hemp fiber should replace cotton as our basic choice for clothing, as it’s good for sustaining ecology, economy and health hemp paper should replace wood based paper as it saves ecology, takes less chemical to process and is very strong and durable hemp building products should replace concrete, wood, fiber glass, plastics and metals as it is the greenest as well as the strongest material around, and these products last longer hemp nano carbon can replace graphene to filter sewage, industrial and waste water treatment. a potential new sector in nuclear waste management super capacitor for battery operated automotive and heavy industrial units, emergency units…… a carbon sink stops pollution absorbs co2 4x faster than trees good for phytoremediation for sustainable lifestyle hemp produces more oxygen than carbon di oxide make in india a carbon negative plant startupindiastandupindia destruction & devastation all around with fossil fuel and its millions of products oil tanker catches fire oil spill plastic waste destroying eco system industry cement
  • 8. biofuel & biodiesel let us breath hemp provides two types of fuels hemp biodiesel – variety of ester based oxygenated fuel made from hemp seed oil hemp biofuel (ethanol & methanol) made from the fermented biomass ethanol is made from grains, sugars, starches, waste paper & forest products methanol is made from woody matter there are many ways to process hemp to produce both ethanol and methanol, the biofuel of the future automobiles industries power generation with conventional fuel dr. rudolf diesel invented his diesel engine to run on seeds and vegetable oil for sustainable lifestyle hemp make in india startupindiastandupindia

  • 21. for sustainable lifestyle hemp make in india startupindiastandupindia stop global warming production methodology testing of soil is a must before cultivating. hemp can be grown on a wide variety of soil types. hemp prefers a sufficiently deep, well-aerated soil with a pH of 7.2 to 7.5, along with good moisture and nutrient holding capacity. this can easily be achieved through organic method with bio charcoal and compost. a fine, firm seedbed is required for fast, uniform germination of hemp seeds. conventional seedbed preparation and drilling are probably ideal. the seedlings will not emerge uniformly if the seed is placed at a depth greater than 50mm or 2inches. hemp field produces a very large bulk of plant material in a short vegetative period, so increasing water and nutrients produces a faster growth. hemp is an extremely efficient weed suppressor. no chemicals are needed for growing this crop. industrial hemp is a low maintenance crop. a normal stand of 200 to 300 plants per square meter shades out the weeds, leaving the fields weed-free at harvest. soil should be fertilized with organic fertilizer, bio charcoal and compost. added benefits will be the carbon sequestration performed by putting organically produced charcoal and organic waste in to the soil
