This document describes an experiment designed to test if shaved hair grows back thicker. The experiment involves shaving half the face of 100 men and one leg of 100 women, with the unshaved sides acting as controls. After a month, the shaved and unshaved areas will be analyzed to compare hair thickness per square inch. The results will indicate whether shaving impacts subsequent hair thickness. Blocking and randomization are used, but blinding is not possible given the visible shaved areas. Statistical analysis will compare mean and standard deviation of thickness differences within subjects.
Wilkes University partnered with SmartWatt to upgrade the lighting in its student parking garage to LED. Over a six month period, SmartWatt completed the LED lighting retrofit project, which has improved the efficiency, aesthetics, and safety of the parking garage while saving the university over $9,000 annually in energy costs and $7,000 in maintenance costs.
U.S. Foodservice contacted SmartWatt Energy to audit their lighting systems in their New York facility and identify opportunities to reduce energy use and costs. SmartWatt recommended replacing 332 lighting fixtures which realized energy savings of 79.81 kW. This project earned a NYSERDA rebate of $38,831 and is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to planting 85 acres of trees or removing 55 cars from the road annually.

Ukraine is looking to rebuild its economy after recession and should focus on promising sectors to drive growth. Tourism is highlighted as a potential priority sector due to Ukraine's geography and heritage attractions. However, developing tourism requires significant investment in infrastructure and may not generate a quick return, while other sectors could provide faster growth. While Ukraine has tourism potential, the global tourism market is slowing and Ukraine lacks unique attractions to compete globally or regionally.
