This document proposes a clustering algorithm for efficiently transmitting data in wireless sensor networks. The algorithm is designed for use in battlefield scenarios, where sensors are uniformly distributed across a geographic region. It uses clustering to send data between different regions to an important base station. Depending on events, the appropriate clustering algorithm is used. The proposed scheme selects cluster heads in a way that provides better data gathering, stability, and extended network lifetime compared to the LEACH protocol. Simulations in NS2.34 show the proposed protocol has performance gains over LEACH in terms of network lifetime and guaranteed data transmission.
