A Jain pilgrimage took place from November 2011 to January 2012 involving participants from New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Illinois, and California. The pilgrimage started and ended at the Shri Mewad Jain Swetamber Trust in Palitana, India and was the first such shared pilgrimage for non-Indian residing Jains. The yatra was guided by two respected Acharyas and aimed to develop partnerships among Jain society leadership in North America.
