Sandboxes
Handbook | Saudi Startup Ecosystem 26
Sandboxes
Saudi Arabia has established sector-focused regulatory
sandboxes to de-risk innovation and accelerate
technology commercialization, enabling startups to
test and scale solutions in live market settings

How It Works:
A live, controlled testing environment where firms pilot
solutions with real customers for a set period (typically six
months) under supervision, without requiring a full license.
Why does it matter?
Sandboxes significantly enhance the
investability of startups. By providing a
structured path to test products under
direct regulatory supervision, the
sandbox serves as a validation engine.
