Is commonly understood as an individual adherence to a set of
standards, or collection of qualities that characterize accepted
practice often on a particular area of activity.
The skill, good judgement and
polite behavior that is
experienced from a person
who is trained to do a job well.
Professionalism
does not mean
wearing a suit
or briefcase.
Rather it means conducting
oneself with responsibility,
integrity, accountability and
excellence. It means
communicating effectively and
appropriately and always finding
a way to be productive.
It is used to describe the type of
behavior you should expect from a
person
For example, showing up to
work on time and focusing
on the task at hand and not
fighting with your colleague
PROFESSIONALISM
Is a combination of attitude, appearance
and manners.
It includes the way you speak, look, act and
make decisions. The main principle of
professional work behavior includes:
PROFESSIONAL BEHAVOR
Treating your colleagues
and clients with respect
Projecting a positive
attitude
Being ethical
Being polite
Showing good judgment
WAYS TO DEMONSTRATE PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR IN THE
WORKPLACE
Dressing appropriately
Employees who show
professionalism at work are
often productive, motivated,
and performing at a high-level.
Colleagues and client enjoy
working with them,
and they might transition
into leadership roles.

10 WAYS TO MAINTAIN
PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR IN THE
WORKPLACE
If you want to gain performance at work
and for chances of success you may
consider the following
Arrive on time - punctuality
shows that you are reliable,
care about your work and
value their time
Follow your office dress code.
Always be neat and clean.
Communicate respectfully when you are at work. Use clean language, even
during casual conversation and emails. Avoid gossiping or talking about
sensitive subjects. If you have conflicts with a colleague do it privately. During
meetings and discuussions, speak clearly so people can understand you.
Listen to your colleagues when they speak and acknowledge the things they
say even if you disagree.
Have a positive attitude. Be
optimistic. Compliment
people around you.
Take responsibility -
respected professionals
set example by taking
responsibility for their
actions. If you made a
mistake, be accepting and
take steps to correct it
and avoid blaming others.
Be honest - integrity in the
workplace can lead to a
positive relationship.
Help others. Offer to help
your colleagues when
they are overwhelmed by
their tasks
Act ethically. Workplace ethics is
choosing between right and wrong
and strong morality. Act ethically
by:
- Understand and follow company
rules
-Report violations
-Remove personal bias
- Being accountable
- Asking for help when in need
Be reliable. They can
count on you.

  • 4. Professionalism does not mean wearing a suit or briefcase. Rather it means conducting oneself with responsibility, integrity, accountability and excellence. It means communicating effectively and appropriately and always finding a way to be productive.

  • 9. 10 WAYS TO MAINTAIN PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR IN THE WORKPLACE If you want to gain performance at work and for chances of success you may consider the following
  • 10. Arrive on time - punctuality shows that you are reliable, care about your work and value their time Follow your office dress code. Always be neat and clean. Communicate respectfully when you are at work. Use clean language, even during casual conversation and emails. Avoid gossiping or talking about sensitive subjects. If you have conflicts with a colleague do it privately. During meetings and discuussions, speak clearly so people can understand you. Listen to your colleagues when they speak and acknowledge the things they say even if you disagree.
