3. SUMMARY
I like pop and pop rock music.
I tend to listen to music in my car, in my house and when I go out with my
friends. But I prefer to listen to music alone because it relaxes me.
Choosing only three songs was very difficult to me. I’ve chosen the following
songs by its video clip, song’s meaning and melody. These three aspects are
very important to me.
The first song is called “Bad day”. Daniel Powter, its author, became famous in
Europe with this song. As a dyslexic he had trouble at University studying
music, so he learnt music by himself (on his own). As a little fact (curiosity), he’s
always wearing a hat hiding a scar on his head made in a traffic accident.
“Fireflies” from Owl City is my second choice. Adam Young, Owl City’s singer,
started playing music in his parent’s basement. He started his career uploading
his music to MySpace. He became well-known by the ‘viral popularity’ and
became famous with this song. He has made music for soundtracks like ‘Alice
in Wonderland’ of Tim Burton and “Legend of the Guardians: The owls of
Ga’hoole”.
Finally, my last choice is “100 years” from Five for Fighting. Five for fighting is
an expression in ice hockey when a player receives a five-minute penalty for
fighting. John Ondrasik is the singer of Five for Fighting. He’s a singer and a
songwriter. He writes and co-writes music for other artists like Backstreet Boys
and Josh Groban. Also, he has made songs/music for movies such as August
Rush, Chicken Little, Jimmy Neutron or The Blind Side.
