 Introduction of Super Computer
 Examples Super Computer
 Uses of super computer
 advantages and disadvantages Super Computer
 Characteristics of Super computer
 Difference between computers and super computers
Introduction
 Supercomputers were first introduced
in the 1960s by Seymour Roger Cray at
Control Data Corporation (CDC),
and have been used
intensively in science and
engineering ever since.
What is the supercomputer?
 Super computer . Is the fastest type of computer ,
supercomputers are very expensive and are employed
for specialized application that requare large amounts
mathematical calculation
Examples Super Computer
 IBM Sierra.
 Sunway
 NUDT
 Cray Titan
Uses of super computer
 Used for weather prediction
 Weapon desing and atomic researche
 Government use it for different calculation and heavy
jobs
 Use it Movies and animation purpose
advantages and disadvantages
Super Computer
 Advantages
 decreasing proccesing
time
 Solving new problems
 lowering costs
 improving safety
 high capacity
 Disadvantages
 storages and bandwidth
 maintanance and
support
 Expensive
Characteristics of Super computer
 Super computers have a high capacity of RAM and
storage
 Capable of handaling the massive amount of
calculation that are beyond the human capabilities
 Many indivituals can acces supercomputers at the
sametime
 These are the most expensive computers that can ever
be made
Difference between computers
and super computers
 Computer are general-purpose computers that are
mostly used for daily work that performs all logic and
arithmetic operations.
 While supercomputer is used for complex and large
mathematical computations.
