Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is a framework that helps create workplaces, educational institutions, and communities where all individuals are respected, valued, and have fair opportunities to succeed. Diversity refers to the presence of differences among people. These differences may include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, education, culture, experiences, and perspectives. A diverse environment brings together people with varied backgrounds and viewpoints. Equity means ensuring fairness by recognising that people have different circumstances and may require different levels of support to achieve similar outcomes. Unlike equality, which provides everyone with the same resources, equity allocates resources and opportunities based on individual needs to remove barriers and create fair access. Inclusion is the practice of creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, supported, and empowered to participate fully. An inclusive culture encourages people to contribute their ideas, values different perspectives, and ensures that all individuals have a sense of belonging
