IDENTITY
Born and raised in the foothills of Tennessee, Josie is a singer-songwriter with
a passion for storytelling. During her time in the industry, she experienced and
witnessed many degrading situations for artists that exposed the power
imbalance between artists and organizations in her community.
Josie's mission is to provide a safe space and advocate for underrepresented
artists. Her vision is to build a diverse, full-service record label that challenges
societal issues, highlights the passion of singers and musicians with high-quality
art, and inspires others in the industry.

Josie is an artist who creates music using storytelling and passion to
challenge social norms and inspire others to serve and live a fulfilling and
meaningful life.
NETWORKING
After winning a battle of the bands competition and performing in
the Backroads Tent at the 2023 Backwoods Festival, I was
invited to attend and perform at the 2024 Backwoods Festival at
Mulberry Mountain.
Upon graduation, I plan to join The
Recording Academy in hopes of gaining the
knowledge and network needed to fulfill my
dream of founding a record label.
How many artists work with labels that pay them fairly, provide a safe space to
create, and take care of business needs so the artist can focus on creating? I am
developing a full-service record label to do just that. I'm enrolled at Full Sail
University working on a bachelor's in music business.
I’m currently looking for a mentor with experience as a label manager and music
producer to help me navigate the next steps in my career.

  • 6. IDENTITY Born and raised in the foothills of Tennessee, Josie is a singer-songwriter with a passion for storytelling. During her time in the industry, she experienced and witnessed many degrading situations for artists that exposed the power imbalance between artists and organizations in her community. Josie's mission is to provide a safe space and advocate for underrepresented artists. Her vision is to build a diverse, full-service record label that challenges societal issues, highlights the passion of singers and musicians with high-quality art, and inspires others in the industry.

NETWORKING After winning a battle of the bands competition and performing in the Backroads Tent at the 2023 Backwoods Festival, I was invited to attend and perform at the 2024 Backwoods Festival at Mulberry Mountain. Upon graduation, I plan to join The Recording Academy in hopes of gaining the knowledge and network needed to fulfill my dream of founding a record label. How many artists work with labels that pay them fairly, provide a safe space to create, and take care of business needs so the artist can focus on creating? I am developing a full-service record label to do just that. I'm enrolled at Full Sail University working on a bachelor's in music business. I’m currently looking for a mentor with experience as a label manager and music producer to help me navigate the next steps in my career.
