Ground-check and time series map of coastal land cover changes in
Northern Java and Madura from before 1988 to 2015:
▪ 4 series maps showed land-use changed at 31 districts/towns along the
Northern Java & Madura coastlines;
▪ Before 1988 total mangrove ecosystem in Java and Madura 272,228 ha;
▪ Our GIS analysis showed 241,944 ha (88.88%) being degraded for
various land-uses, such as:
➢ ponds 187,328 ha (68.81%),
➢ settlement and industrial areas 19,597 ha (7.20%),
➢ agricultures, swamps and bare-lands 9,763 ha (3.59%)
➢ sea-abrasion 25,256 ha (9.28%).
▪ Existing mangroves was only 30,284 ha (11.12%) that consist of:
✓ 18,242 ha (6.70%) of old mangroves and
✓ 12,042 ha (4.42%) of restored mangroves
▪ There is a huge areas need to be rehabilitated.

Together with local community, KEHATI is actively reduce the
threat of Indonesian biodiversity loss
WHAT WE HAVE DONE ?
• Restored 200 ha of degraded mangroves in Jakarta,
Indramayu, Brebes, Tegal, Pekalongan and Situbondo
conducted by various local NGOs, such as Yagasu
(National NGO), IPPHTI, SIKLUS (Local NGO),
Mangrovesari (Local Community).
• Facilitated local community groups on small business
development (UMKM) based on mangrove products and
services such as organic silvo-fishery, mangrove foods
and beverages, organic batik mangroves and mangrove
eco-tourism;
• Working in collaboration KEHATI and Yagasu managed
Mangrove Education Center (MEC) in Pantai Indah
Kapuk - Jakarta;
• Cooperative agreement with various private companies
and national banks such as with BRI, BNI and other 20
Banks, in restoring and protecting mangroves;
KEHATI PROGRAM & LOCAL PARTNERS
WHAT WE HAVE PLANNED?
• Restore the degraded mangroves along the Coastal
Carbon Corridor in Northern Java and Madura with
minimum targets of 50,000 ha in 10 years incorporate
with 360 village groups in the CBC3I program;
• Facilitate more local community groups on small
business development (UMKM) based on mangrove
products and services such as organic silvo-fishery,
mangrove foods and beverages, organic batik
mangroves and mangrove eco-tourism and other
creative products;
• Raise fund in cooperative agreement with various
private companies and national banks such as with
BRI, to fund the mobilization of local community groups
in restoring and protecting mangroves;
• Offer carbon offset mechanism of CBC3I sites to
Indonesian market targeting private sectors or offering
it to the overseas markets.

ORI-010 Mangrove Untuk Bumi Indonesia
Program dimulai 2013 s/d 2015, dengan dukungan
dana hibah total Rp 1,047,450,000,- untuk
mendukung:
• Restorasi kawasan mangrove yang rusak di pesisir
Indonesia
• Program Nasional untuk rehabilitasi kawasan
mangrove di lahan pesisir
• Pemanfaatan berkelanjutan: Ekologi, Ekonomi, dan
Sosial untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat
Dana juga berfungsi sebagai dana hibah awal yang
mendukung masyarakat melestarikan kawasan
mangrove secara mandiri
DUKUNGAN 20 AGEN PENJUAL ORI-010
• Telah menanam lebih dari 300rb (target 200rb) bibit tanaman
bakau di lahan seluas lebih dari 30 ha
• Melindungi kawasan pesisir dari abrasi
• Menyerap karbon (hutan mangrove menyerap karbon 5x lebih
banyak dari hutan dataran tinggi)
• Menyediakan tempat tinggal untuk biota laut dan pesisir
Capaian di bidang Ekologi / Lingkungan
• Terbentuknya jejaring nasional desa adaptasi perubahan
iklim
• Keterlibatan Pemerintah Daerah dari tingkat desa sampai
dengan kabupaten, dalam melindungi kawasan Hutan Bakau
• Penyadartahuan masyarakat terkait restorasi mangrove
melalui kerjasama antar desa , melibatkan 391 laki-laki,
419 perempuan, dan 120 orang pelajar.

• Ekowisata: terciptanya ekowisata mangrove yang
melibatkan masyarakat dan pemda
• Revitalisasi Tambak dengan metode silvo-fishery
• Peningkatan pendapatan nelayan perikanan tangkap di
daerah pesisir, contoh: di Brebes masyarakat mendapatkan
tambahan penghasilan dari penangkapan udang / kepiting
/ kerang rata-rata 2kg/orang/hari  50 orang nelayan dg
pendapatan total Rp 3juta/hari.

Ground-check and time series map of coastal land cover changes in Northern Java and Madura from before 1988 to 2015: ▪ 4 series maps showed land-use changed at 31 districts/towns along the Northern Java & Madura coastlines; ▪ Before 1988 total mangrove ecosystem in Java and Madura 272,228 ha; ▪ Our GIS analysis showed 241,944 ha (88.88%) being degraded for various land-uses, such as: ➢ ponds 187,328 ha (68.81%), ➢ settlement and industrial areas 19,597 ha (7.20%), ➢ agricultures, swamps and bare-lands 9,763 ha (3.59%) ➢ sea-abrasion 25,256 ha (9.28%). ▪ Existing mangroves was only 30,284 ha (11.12%) that consist of: ✓ 18,242 ha (6.70%) of old mangroves and ✓ 12,042 ha (4.42%) of restored mangroves ▪ There is a huge areas need to be rehabilitated. (Studied by YAGASU 2016-2017) MANGROVE STATUS AND THREATS

WHAT WE HAVE DONE ? • Restored 200 ha of degraded mangroves in Jakarta, Indramayu, Brebes, Tegal, Pekalongan and Situbondo conducted by various local NGOs, such as Yagasu (National NGO), IPPHTI, SIKLUS (Local NGO), Mangrovesari (Local Community). • Facilitated local community groups on small business development (UMKM) based on mangrove products and services such as organic silvo-fishery, mangrove foods and beverages, organic batik mangroves and mangrove eco-tourism; • Working in collaboration KEHATI and Yagasu managed Mangrove Education Center (MEC) in Pantai Indah Kapuk - Jakarta; • Cooperative agreement with various private companies and national banks such as with BRI, BNI and other 20 Banks, in restoring and protecting mangroves;

WHAT WE HAVE PLANNED? • Restore the degraded mangroves along the Coastal Carbon Corridor in Northern Java and Madura with minimum targets of 50,000 ha in 10 years incorporate with 360 village groups in the CBC3I program; • Facilitate more local community groups on small business development (UMKM) based on mangrove products and services such as organic silvo-fishery, mangrove foods and beverages, organic batik mangroves and mangrove eco-tourism and other creative products; • Raise fund in cooperative agreement with various private companies and national banks such as with BRI, to fund the mobilization of local community groups in restoring and protecting mangroves; • Offer carbon offset mechanism of CBC3I sites to Indonesian market targeting private sectors or offering it to the overseas markets.

ORI-010 Mangrove Untuk Bumi Indonesia Program dimulai 2013 s/d 2015, dengan dukungan dana hibah total Rp 1,047,450,000,- untuk mendukung: • Restorasi kawasan mangrove yang rusak di pesisir Indonesia • Program Nasional untuk rehabilitasi kawasan mangrove di lahan pesisir • Pemanfaatan berkelanjutan: Ekologi, Ekonomi, dan Sosial untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Dana juga berfungsi sebagai dana hibah awal yang mendukung masyarakat melestarikan kawasan mangrove secara mandiri

  • 25. • Telah menanam lebih dari 300rb (target 200rb) bibit tanaman bakau di lahan seluas lebih dari 30 ha • Melindungi kawasan pesisir dari abrasi • Menyerap karbon (hutan mangrove menyerap karbon 5x lebih banyak dari hutan dataran tinggi) • Menyediakan tempat tinggal untuk biota laut dan pesisir Capaian di bidang Ekologi / Lingkungan
  • 26. • Terbentuknya jejaring nasional desa adaptasi perubahan iklim • Keterlibatan Pemerintah Daerah dari tingkat desa sampai dengan kabupaten, dalam melindungi kawasan Hutan Bakau • Penyadartahuan masyarakat terkait restorasi mangrove melalui kerjasama antar desa , melibatkan 391 laki-laki, 419 perempuan, dan 120 orang pelajar. Capaian di bidang Ekonomi • Ekowisata: terciptanya ekowisata mangrove yang melibatkan masyarakat dan pemda • Revitalisasi Tambak dengan metode silvo-fishery • Peningkatan pendapatan nelayan perikanan tangkap di daerah pesisir, contoh: di Brebes masyarakat mendapatkan tambahan penghasilan dari penangkapan udang / kepiting / kerang rata-rata 2kg/orang/hari  50 orang nelayan dg pendapatan total Rp 3juta/hari. • Peternakan domba/kambing dengan memanfaatkan hijauan mangrove
