The document presents a performance analysis of a three-phase shunt hybrid active power filter (SHAF) aimed at improving power quality by reducing harmonic distortion in low voltage distribution systems. It details the operational principles, control strategies, and simulation results demonstrating the effectiveness of SHAF in achieving near sinusoidal source currents and reducing total harmonic distortion (THD) from 12.4% to approximately 2.11%. The proposed SHAF combines the functionalities of both shunt active filters and tuned passive filters to enhance performance and maintain cost-effectiveness.
