Iver Henning is a 43-year-old ceramics and pottery teacher at Santa Cruz High School who learned the craft from his parents, professional potters. He creates large, imaginative sculptures and pieces inspired by travel and funk art that can get more aggressive when he's in a bad mood. His favorite work is a towering stacked sculpture depicting a frog and mouse that took two days to make and glaze. He finds the pottery-making process meditative and therapeutic.
