I was invited to lead a symposium panel on The Opioid Epidemic and Alternative Pain Treatments. All the speakers are top notch experts with expertise in different aspects -- from treating opioid use disorders, to preventing the opioid crisis with the full range of non-medication pain management approaches. Given the complexity of how these topics relate to each other, I made a TOPIC MAP to provide a HIGH-LEVEL ORIENTATION to how my and the other speakers' topics relate to each in the big picture. I realize this diagram is incomplete and more layers can be added, but I hope this is a useful starting point for people interested in learning more about these pressing topics today. Feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to suggest improvements to the diagram, or if you think of ways to collaborate (especially in scaling Body/Mind & Technology/Data approaches).
