The document discusses the shift towards using unconventional sources, such as blogs and wikis, in law student essays. It notes that standards of rigor, objectivity, authority, and transparency still apply to these sources. However, the paradigm is shifting from the traditional oral tradition and Gutenberg eras towards a digital revolution where information is collaborative and multimedia. The document advocates that students should be guided on appropriate unconventional sources to use but also encouraged to independently assess source reliability.
Sukkot is a Jewish harvest festival celebrated for seven days starting on the 15th day of the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. It is marked by leaving one's home to live in a sukkah, a temporary shelter with openings in the walls and roof to see the sky. During Sukkot, Jews celebrate by waving the Four Species - the etrog, lulav, hadass and aravah - in the sukkah while reciting blessings.
The bedroom scene in The Babadook establishes a creepy atmosphere. As the mother reads to her son, the night lamp begins twitching, foreshadowing something dark. When the son falls asleep, wide shots of the dark, empty house build tension. The mother hears strange noises and hides under the blanket for protection. However, the Babadook appears and attacks her, shown through a tracking shot that puts the viewer in the monster's perspective. Non-diegetic sounds like wind and the Babadook's movements heighten the scare factor in this pivotal scene.
1. The document discusses issues around consent and licensing for the storage and analysis of brain imaging data, drawing analogies to CCTV, human tissue laws, and DNA.
2. It considers whether brain scans should be treated like CCTV surveillance, human tissue, or DNA by analyzing similarities and differences in each case.
3. The author questions what laws or regulations may be needed going forward to address developments in neuroscience and ensure privacy and ethical use of brain data, whether new legislation is warranted or existing frameworks could be amended.
