Veterans day3
Veterans Day 2011 honors those who served in the military, especially women who were the first females killed in different conflicts such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Korea. The document pays tribute to fallen soldiers through music, memorials in Washington D.C., and remembering battles such as Chosin Reservoir and the Marine Barracks bombing in Lebanon.
Corrosion (Chemistry)
Corrosion is the gradual destruction of materials like metals through chemical reaction with the environment. It degrades properties such as strength, appearance, and permeability. Corrosion can cause explosions in some fast reactions, like fuel igniting in a car engine, or sodium reacting with water. Slow reactions include food rotting or cooking over time through oxidation. Rusting of iron and steel is a common slow corrosion reaction that is sped up by warmth and salt water and can weaken metals. Corrosion can be prevented by protecting metals from oxygen through coatings, alloys like stainless steel, or using more reactive metals like zinc to protect iron.

Plasma is a neutral medium made of positive and negative particles that are not free but not firmly bound. Solids expand when heated and contract when cooled due to particle movement. Liquids generally expand more than solids with temperature changes and contract back, though water is unique in expanding as it cools to 4°C before contracting as it freezes at 0°C. Gases like liquids and solids also expand with heat and contract with cold.
