As a sophomore I created this ceramic piece not to highlight the undomesticated nature of an orca in the wild, but to bring to light the oppressed and ill-treated existence that many of these animals undergo in captivity around the globe.
Deciding to venture into mixed media work, I constructed this Epoxy Resin River Table, which relied heavily on pairing the correct color of pigment for the species of wood, in order to generate the eye popping contrast seen.
Inspired by boxcar art, the abstract use of line and color catapults the work to the forefront of the imagination. The white fracture lines offer division between the varying colors, and the focus that is the word “HERO”. This creates a contrast that directs your attention towards the focus.
Inspired by ancient roman ceramic form, I decided to forge a new path with a twenty first century element by transitioning from a classic circular base to a quadrilateral soft square base. That element of form created a new dimension to the work, providing large areas of uniform incline on each face, leaving the perfect opportunity for abstract art, which is why I chose to splatter the faces with under glaze.
Solely inspired by geometry, I wanted this piece to contain a harmonistic balance of linear and circular components immersed in a shade of purple that initiates self reflection
This piece was created by observing the criteria for a slab box in a new light. While still being functional as a storage box, the outer surface encompasses the aesthetic of a classic arcade cabinet re-imagined with a simplistic Pacman flare.
As a freshman I created this piece to reflect the depth of Pink Floyd’s music. I wanted to capture the multidimensional of their distinct sound within the parameters of a 6x6x6 box. The transitions of the artwork around the perimeter represent a sometimes seamless, other times chaotic ebb and flow present within their music.
Crafted on a wood lathe, my attention to detail was set towards shape and form. The success of this piece broadcasts from its subtle curvature leading to the foot rim, and is amplified by the obscured lines provided by the natural white oak wood grain.
As my first piece crafted on a wood lathe, my focus was geared towards the shape and form of this cup. The two coalesce in a pristine manner creating the illusion of a much more broad and hearty work.

This piece relies on unity of color and line. The many shades offered by the different species of tree, come together with the mixed matched varying angels of intersected boards, curating a work that prompts your eyes to continue investigating and admiring the bowl
As my first piece fabricated from wood, this birdhouse captures a unique rustic aesthetic provided by the use of recycled wood recovered from fence posts, the simplistic design consisting of four walls and a bracket roof, and lastly the dusky stain choice.
Inspired by the west coast, I created this board to capture and reflect the swiftness of the pacific ocean waves by crafting and utilizing a shape consisting of mellow curves, being broken by the fractured grip tape on the surface. Due to these features, this board is the perfect cruiser for both high speed and technical modes of riding.
Inspired by Monster Energy, this piece comes to life with the strategic use of line and color. The cracked lines overlaid atop the orange, green, and black paint resonate a brute beast like aesthetic relating to the way a Monster Energy drink makes the consumer feel
Drawn from observation, and a photo reference, this self portrait my freshman year is brought to its full effect by the incorporation of value. The fashion in which the positive and negative extremes fade in and out of the middle gray that is my hair, fabricates a more realistic sense to the work.
Drawn from life, this work captures the brute nature of American muscle cars due to the contrast between that of the car and the environment it is immersed in. These cars intrigue me due to their bold body designs, and high amounts of horsepower.
