This document discusses 5 programming puzzles involving issues like bitfields, integer overflow, NaN values, missing function prototypes, and multi-byte characters. Each puzzle is presented along with the potential problem and its solution. Common issues covered include data type conversions, undefined behavior, and incorrect string handling. The purpose is to explore subtle bugs that can occur even in simple-looking code.
This document provides an overview of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). It begins by explaining that OFDM divides a data stream into parallel substreams that are transmitted over subcarriers spaced to avoid interference. This allows OFDM to be robust against interference and fading. It then discusses how OFDM can overcome issues like intersymbol interference caused by transmission medium distortions better than single-carrier systems. The document lists advantages of OFDM such as adaptability, resistance to multipath propagation and intersymbol interference, high spectral efficiency, and resistance to fading. It provides examples of applications using OFDM such as wireless LANs, digital radio/TV, and cellular. Finally, it includes a block diagram of an OFDM system
This publication was prepared in response to numerous requests by youth non-governmental organizations, youth policy practitioners and young people for a ready reference to the WPAY, its 15 priority areas and their corresponding proposals for action. It also includes the means for implementation at the national, regional and international levels.
Social media and socio analysis - BETADavid Patman
This document discusses how online social media has reduced barriers to participation in group activities and enabled sophisticated collective action outside of formal organizations. However, from a socio-analytic perspective, organizations also fulfill an important function of containing member anxiety. As social media threatens traditional hierarchical organizational structures, it also challenges their ability to defend against anxiety. There may therefore be conscious or unconscious resistance to social media within traditional organizations.
Peach's Neet Feet is a non-profit organization that provides custom painted shoes to children with disabilities or serious illnesses. It was started as an act of love and has grown into a kindness movement. The document provides instructions for installing and configuring PHP-Fusion, an open source content management system. It describes downloading and unpacking PHP-Fusion files, creating a MySQL database, setting file permissions, and going through the installation steps. It also includes PHP code examples for formatting dates, outputting environment variables, and converting user input to booleans.
