  – The unknown
  – Looking foolish
  – Failing
• Lean start-up thinking
   – fail fast
• However well you research
  and plan…
Stepping into your power

• Your skills are your skills
   – The big brand trap
• Adopting the business owner mindset
Surviving the emotional rollercoaster

• Know that there will be emotional ups
  and downs
• Do something every day to
  move your business forward
• Concentrate on the things
  you can control
Get over the scarcity mindset

• It’s a really big pie
• Ideas are worth nothing
  – It’s all about the execution

• Blind spots in our strategy or execution
• Leverage the wisdom of the group
• Accountability is king
Make it a point to collaborate

• It will keep you energized and positive
• You will:
  – Learn a ton
  – Make friends and
    get support
  – Stay excited about
    your business
  – Grow your business
My best advice

• Start small – proof of concept
    – Build on what worked, scrap what didn’t
•   Avoid analysis paralysis
    – Ship! (As Seth Godin would say)
• Get the support you need
