Open Badge Factory has developed an open API (not documented yet) that can be used by any badge issuing platform to integrate with Wikibadges.org badges. With Open Badge Factory and Open Badge Passport you can already get badge classes from Wikibadges and use them to issue badges. Wikibadges is a collaborative tool to support open recognition. It is a free, simple online wiki that individuals and communities can use to co-create Open Badge content (badge classes) All content created in Wikibadges is licensed under CC Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license. Anyone can freely create, edit, copy and distribute Wikibadges.org contents Wikibadges.org is an initiative developed and hosted by Open Badge Factory to explore what happens when individuals and community members can work together on developing badge contents in an open environment
Overview Why Wikibadges? ● To support open recognition and answer the need of our customers ● To promote co-creation and co-utilisation of badges by networks and communities ● To make development and use of badges easier and faster. (benefiting of work done by many) ● To make possible for communities and citizens to recognise (not only to be recognised), and to develop together open and dynamic competencies frameworks that serve their needs. ● The goal of Wikibadges is to support the development of badge ecosystems and “participative democracy”.
