The Ethical Theories Of The Ethics
There are eight major ethical theories the ones that were focused on in the video were deontological
and utilitarian. The deontological theory is the sense of obligation, that someone feels that it their
morally duty to do the right thing. The utilitarian theory is that people act and behave so that they will
produce happiness for the greatest number of people. These two different ethical theories are ways that
people behave and think is morally correct. In the video the professor talked about the two ethical
theories and how the choices that people make can connect to these two theories. The professor said
that the utilitarian theory mantra is that good makes something right, and that these people are results
oriented. The deontological theory mantra is that right makes something good, and that these people
are motive oriented. The big question is what is the morally right thing to do? consequential moral
reasoning says that someone should not kill an innocent person to say others. I think people should
always try to avoid hurting other people, but if you could save five people and only one person die,
would you do it? For example in the first situation where there are two ways the train can go with
workers on it, with no brakes, and it can either hit five workers and save the one, or save five, and kill
one worker by going down another track. The train driver has to decide quickly what to choose. Either
way someone has to die, should it be five people or one? I

What a star, What a Jerk is a Harvard Business review case study which deals with the basic human
attributes of attitude and behaviour and the closely intertwined connection among the two. The case
tries to highlight one of the most common issues faced by organisations, that is, how to handle a star
performer who has a rash and bullying attitude towards others in an organisation. The basic and the
most important managerial roles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pros: * Andy may open up with other employees, which may lead to change in his attitude. * By
creating a competitive environment this may lead to motivating other employees. Cons: * May make
Andy more grandiose about himself. * Initially it may demotivate other employees by the appreciation
of the rudest employee. * It may look like unfair to praise the most ill behaved personality, just
because he is a performer. 4. Initiative needed on Jane s part. Jane should tell Andy that a positive and
a healthy work environment is one of the most important aspects of their organization, and his
numbers are not sufficient to tag him as their star employee. Moreover Jane should realise herself that
managing people is what is expected of an efficient manager. Pros: * Being an effective manager will
help Jane give more inputs to an organisation as an effective manager. * The productivity of Jane s
team and herself will improve if she learns how to handle people better. Cons: * Andy might feel that
he is being targeted. * His performance may get affected due to the demotivation that may come along
with Jane s attitude towards him. The Best Solution: In this scenario, we as a group propose the fourth
solution as the best possible one according to which it is Jane herself who has to take an initiative and
confront Andy directly stating him clearly what kind of

Execution Methods In The Holocaust
Execution Methods used in the Holocaust
When the Holocaust is mentioned most people immediately think of the concentration camps. They
predict scrawny people in dirty striped uniforms staring closely as the others are numerously getting
buried, or being bulldozed into mass graves. Those horrific scenes were real but they are not the entire
Holocaust. There were other methods of execution throughout the
Holocaust but the use of gas chambers was by far the most common. The Holocaust was the best
wellordered case of persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazi party. The Nazis came to
power in Germany on January 1933, they believed that Germans were racially superior and that the
Jews were inferior, and were a threat to the so called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Holocaust that were not specifically designed to execute right away, they set up labor camps to make

Theories of Criminal Behavior
Theories of Criminal Behavior The beginning of civilization dawned a new era in which man came
together to live amongst one another in relative peace and prosperity. The advent of civilization
however also brought about people who choose to live a life outside of societal norms and law, norms
and thus was the creation of the criminal. All civilizations tried to suppress and discourage crime by
using a multitude of tactics and punishments. Crime, however continued to grow despite these harsh
tactics and strict laws. Scientists have tried to understand the fundamental drive of the criminal from

Both Sheldon s and Lombroso s theories have been dismissed due to faulty evidence and
inconsistencies, but the idea of biological predisposition to crime still lingers in the criminologist.
Another biological theory of crime is more associated with the genetics of the mind, and whether if a
person with certain mental or genetic abnormalities will be more prone to a life of crime. A part of this
theory is the extra chromosome theory. It has been suggested that a rare XYY aberration in males may
lead the possessor to uncontrolled violence. A large number of males who have possessed this genetic
abnormality have had a high predisposition to crime and have constituted about 3.5 percent of males
in the prison population (Reckless, p. 42). The other parts of genetic theories of crime are associated
with symptomatic behavior. In some studies, it is suggested that persons suffering from a mental
condition are more likely to commit violent crimes than

subtypes of procurement contracts, and discuss the pros, cons, and the burden of risk of each. At the
end of the assessment, (FFP). This a clear understanding of which type of contract is least

Analysis Of Maya Angelou s Champion Of The World
In the United States, there are people from all over the world who come from different backgrounds
and have faced horrendous things. Some of these people feel that their race is inferior to others, but
deal with it in different ways. Although the tension between whites and minorities was at it s strongest
in the 1950 s, today s world still deals with racial discrimination. The question Is one race superior to
all others? Some overcome this by believing one person can change how other races perceive them or
by confronting the public and shining light on what s going on in the world. Throughout this paper I
will discuss how every person overcomes the stereotypes they face everyday. I will then analyze how

Angelou uses descriptive language to draw the readers in, she gives detail by detail of how the boxing
match took place and all the emotions that were running through her. For the most part the writer is
credible, she explains how the black community in her town came together to listen to the radio, but
after some research it was found that Joe Louis and Primo Carnera only fought once and it was not a
championship fight. Perhaps she was referring to that same fight, but simply made a mistake. Within
any type of ethnic community, people will always find an icon they can believe in, People use these
icons to seek power and acceptance as a way to hide their inferiority complex. People all over the
world are tearing eachother down for meaningless racial competition. It isn t difficult to see that there
are more important things in life than to be boasting about one s race. In Gloria Naylor s essay, The
Meanings of a Word (1986), proves that the language of stereotypes can be powerful and painful to

heard that derogatory term compared to when she heard people of her neighborhood using it. Naylor s
purpose is to discuss how a word can go from a positive connotation to a negative one simply by how
it is spoken and by whom in order to

The Characteristics Of Ronald Reagan
World leaders have immense power. Some use that power for good; others use it for evil. Whether
they are looked upon fondly or not, world leaders are still loved by many people. They can inspire
good character, good morals, and responsibility. The best example of this is how people view the
United States presidents. Some of the former presidents are considered heroes, and even depicted to be
on the same level as gods. These people have been so highly praised, that saying anything bad about
them is looked down upon. There are statues and monuments dedicated to presidents such aslike
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy, and
so on. This illustrates the fact thatThe point is, former US presidents are held in high regard. One of
these presidents held to this high standard was the US president throughout most of the 1980s. His
name was Ronald Reagan. Reagan He went from being a typecasted, Good Guy actor, to politician, to
becoming President of the United States of America. Ronald Reagan s background as a performer
contributed directly to his effectiveness as a politician.
One of the character traits that Ronald Reagan embodied was good public speaking. He was able to
convince people that he was on their side and that he was there to resolve improve the problems in the
American government. During his inaugural speech in 1981, he said, government is not a solution to
our problems; government is the problem. In the same

Extravert Sensing Thinking Judger
A human being s personality can be seen even when they are babies: when we cry, how we approach
people, and how we communicate with people as a baby. Now, these personalities do not stay the
same throughout their growth; many of them change and characteristics alter according to how they
grow up childhood, religion, and the environment. I myself have had a very different personality when
I was a child, compared to myself as an adult. I am an Extravert Sensing Thinking Judger (ESTJ). As
an ESTJ I tend to overlook and supervise the people around me; I like to take control and hold
responsibility. This doesn t always appear to be a positive trait, but it appears when it is necessary and

For example, we feel the need to be in lead and supervise. When we show this trait, people feel
offended of our commanding and overbearing instructions. I dislike the times when I am forced into a
change and transition because I need time to subdue the unusual and unfamiliar events that have
occurred. I am not a perfectionist, but I get frustrated with people who are sloppy, irresponsible and
inefficient; because that means they are not considerate of me at work. Finally, ESTJs tend to think
they are right with their opinions and decisions, which is not the best trait to show in the workplace.
The gap between the differences can be filled in with understanding and consideration towards each
other. As a result, for ESTJs to improve our performances at work, we can practice being patient,
impartial when making decisions and loosen up our mindset from being too dominant. Our differences
show our uniqueness, but they sometimes cause dissension and conflicts. We only need to learn how

Ingsoc s Use Of Propaganda In The Book 1984 By George Orwell
In the book 1984, which takes place in Oceania, all people are constantly under surveillance by
Ingsoc. Ingsoc is Oceania s government. Also the widespread use of propaganda is quite evident in
this book. Surveillance and propaganda are used to control, watch, and influence the peoples of
Oceania. Ingsoc uses surveillance to watch and listen to every person living in Oceania. One quote
makes this very evident and the quote is: Big Brother is watching you. Big brother is watching you
means just what it sounds like. Ingsoc the government knows what each person is up to at all times
because they are watching the peoples. In Oceania each house comes with a telescreen that watches
and listens to each of the families daily lives. The telescreens sometimes make noises when Ingsoc
wants to get in touch with the people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

propaganda by putting on advertisements and boosting how lucky the people were to have Ingsoc.

telescreens use propaganda to make people trust and believe in the plans Ingsoc has. Instead of telling
people they are watching them so they have full control, Ingsoc says they just want to assure everyone

Transgender People Face Harassment And Discrimination
In 2015, at least 21 transgender people have been victims of fatal violence in the
United States, more killings of transgender people than any other year on record. More transgender
people were killed in the first six months of this year than in all of 2014.
While we don t know many details about these victims experiences, research shows that transgender
people face harassment and discrimination in numerous contexts throughout their lives. We know that
the chances of facing discrimination, harassment and violence increase exponentially for transgender
women of color, who also face racism and sexism. For many transgender women of color, the threat of
violence is constant, and there are few if any places they feel safe. Transgender people must be
supported because they are human beings who have many talents that will support and maintain
society.!
! When we think of ourselves as male or female, it s called gender identity,
Everyone has a gender identity. Most people s gender identity matches their anatomy.
But those who are transgender feel different from their physical appearances. Society today looks
upon transgender as an Identity disorder. The word transgender doesn t only mean that a person
identifies with the opposite gender. It also can be used by people who don t feel like they re either
completely male or completely female.!

The Relationship Between Institutional Holdings And...
The purpose of the article is to find whether there is a relationship between institutional holdings and
payout policy in U.S. public firms between 1980 and 1996. In the begging there is an abstract, that
states the aim of the research and the reached findings. There are 7 sections in the article. The first one
is introduction, where the authors explain what results are reached and carefully introduce the readers
to the structure of the article. In the next section the hypotheses is derived. After that, section 3, the
variables and the data is described. The tests begin from section 4 to section 6. In those sections the
authors use non parametric tests, regression analyses and vector autoregressive specifications in order
to reach their results. The last section is the conclusion of the article, where the major findings are
listed. The authors find that institutions prefer firms that pay dividends to ones which don t. Moreover,
within dividend paying firms, institutions are not attracted to high dividends. They also find a positive
relation between repurchases and institutional holdings. Their results also suggest that institutions
prefer firms that repurchase regularly to firms that repurchase sporadically. They don t find evidence
that an increase in institutional holdings in firms is followed by an increase in dividends or
repurchases. Their article has been cited 412 times by other authors.

Dark energy what is it? Dark energy is a unknown energy said to take up 70 percent of the universe.
The energy is a repulsive gravitational effect that is causing the universe to accelerate out ward. No
one knows exactly what dark energy is or where it comes from.
Dark Energy is a new idea. Little is known about dark energy, yet it takes up a huge amount if the

Scientist were able to show the universe was expanding at an accelerated rate by measuring the red

Not until to long ago, there was an inconsistency between the matter in space, the energy in the
universe, and the flatness of space. Scientist studied the cosmic microwave background and a large
scale structure, and they were able to conclude that the energy that keeps space flat is dark energy.
Scientists are still trying to learn more about this mysterious energy. They conduct red shift surveys of
the galaxy clusters; a galaxy cluster is consisted of thousands of galaxies, dark matter, and hot gases,
bound together by gravity.
When scientist conduct a red shift survey, the electrons from the hot gases scatter off the protons and
produce X rays, which weaken with a higher red shift. Once and a while the electrons give some
energy to a photon of the cosmic microwave background, which makes the black body spectrum to
shift causing distortion, called the Sunyaev Zeldovich effect. Comparing the X rays to the Sunyaev
Zeldfovich effect help scientist observe the faintest red shift in clusters.
Various types of dark energy have been thought to be found, one is a cosmic field associated with
inflation, a low energy field called quintessence, and the cosmological constant in its present living
form does not balance gravity in order to keep a static universe, it has a negative pressure that cause
the universe to accelerate.

Analysis Of The Poem The Wife Of King Midas
Mrs Midas Critical Commentary
The poem, Mrs Midas is written from the perspective of the wife of King Midas; a character from
Ovid s Metamorphoses . In the myth, King Midas was granted a wish where everything he touched
turned to gold. Mrs Midas is part of a tradition of the feminist revisionist writing of mythology and
fair tales. Duffy trivialises the myth by transplanting it to a modern, middle class, suburban setting. In
the poem, Duffy uses a wide range of literary devices and conveys a large array of emotions which
help to bring out the central themes of the poem.
In stanza one Duffy depicts a conventional, middle class domestic setting; where the speaker, Mrs
Midas is cooking vegetables and begins to unwind with a glass of wine . The quote, glass of wine
emphasises the middle class, suburban setting and highlights revisionist element of the poem. Duffy
writes stanzas one retrospectively, It was late September . Duffy uses this quote to set the scene but
more importantly to indicate the fact that the event has already happened. This conveys the idea that
the poem is being told as a story. In stanza one Duffy personifies the kitchen, with the line, its steamy
breath gently blanching the windows . The quote emphasises that the kitchen is coming to life. Also
the use of the simile, like a brow helps to convey the kitchen as a living thing. The word gently is used
by Duffy to contrast the frenzied events which unfold later on in the poem. Furthermore,

The NFL Protests Of The National Anthem
NFL Protests of the National Anthem The National Football League players who are kneeling for the
national anthem are disrespecting our country and what it stands for. Our flag stands for freedom and
liberty. The players should respect that. Before every NFL game, the flag is brought out by an Honor
Guard. This is part of a time honored ceremony intended to present our nation s colors (the flag) and
National Anthem in a respectful manner. By kneeling during the national anthem, they are
disrespecting the flag, the national anthem, all our nation stands for, the people currently serving in the
armed forces and all of those who gave their lives in our nation s service. As a result of all the players
or coaches kneeling, long time NFL fans are burning jerseys, cancelling season tickets, not showing
up for games, not watching games, and canceling the NFL Sunday ticket and well they should. The
players claim they are simply exercising their 1st Amendment Rights. The players are wrong. The
Freedom of Speech Clause of the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution only protects
people from Government attempts to restrict their speech. The NFL is not the government. The NFL is
a private entity that has the right to stop its representatives (players) from violating its rules. This is
why the NFL can require players to wear pink for breast cancer awareness or stop players from
wearing 911 Memorials or fine players for celebrating in the end zone. The NFL operations manual
requires the players to stand for the National Anthem with their right hand over their heart, their
helmet in the left hand, while facing the Flag. Therefore, the players have no right to kneel during the
National Anthem. All the NFL needs to do to end this nonsense is enforce the rules the players already
agreed to follow. NFL football players have no greater right to protest on the football field than an
employee at Wal Mart has to take a knee on aisle seven. Employers have the right to stop political
speech on their premises or while employees are on the clock (there are some exceptions, but these do
not apply). The NFL operations manual simply makes the league s rules similar Federal law. Federal

The Key Components Of The Physics Of Basketball
The game of Basketball is a commonly well known sport throughout the world, but many people do
not think about the science portion that has a big role in basketball. There are many key components in
shooting, body movement, where the forces come from to shoot, the potential energy, and the physics
of the shot. Many people only think of basketball as trying to perfect their jump shot, but usually that
is not what the problem is, it is mostly whether or not their eyes and their arms are pointed towards the
hoop. Jumpshot #2 will be most accurate due to the acceleration the player gets as they are trying to
get the shot off therefore gaining more energy and momentum into the arms and into the ball, making
it easier to get the shot off. There are many components to the physics of the game. The horizontal,
and vertical components play a huge part in the physics of basketball, but both play a different role.
The Horizontal component of velocity remains constant throughout the point in which the player
jumps because it is not being affected by gravity. The Vertical component of velocity can determine
how long the basketball player is airborne. Another key component in the Physics of Basketball is
what the ball is made of. Most sports balls are composed of substances that are made of elasticity. The
elasticity of the ball allows it to go back to its original shape after it has been stretched out or if it
comes in contact with something that makes it lose it s original shape or

Photon-Induced Near-Electron Microscopy Essay
Photon induced near field electron microscopy (PINEM), a key UEM technique, is based on the
photon electron interaction [83]. The basic principle of PINEM can be explained as follows: in free
space, an electron cannot absorb a quantum of electromagnetic energy because of the lack of energy
momentum conservation. However, in the presence of the nanostructure, the inelastic coupling
between the free electrons and photons takes place [138, 139] due to the deceleration of the scattered
photons and the stratification of the energy momentum conservation condition. The coupling leads to
gain/loss of photon quanta by electrons in the electron packet, which can be resolved in the electron
energy spectrum [83, 140 142] This spectrum consists of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[143]. The author imaged the photo induced surface plasmonic standing wave on a metallic nanowire
(Ag nanowire) (Fig. 13b). Also, he demonstrated the control of the spatial interference of the
excitation plasmonic field. Also, the cross correlation images of the excited surface plasmon were
obtained by control the relative delay between the driver laser pulse and the electron pulse. Worth
notes, the enhancement of the temporal resolution in UEM to tens of femtoseconds [19] might allow
eventually to image the plasmonic dynamics and its evolving in time and space.
On the other hand, the indirect PINEM imagining (spectral mapping) enabled the envisage of excited
surface plasmon on a subparticle scale [144]. This has been done by focusing the electron beam onto a
single nanoparticle and record PINEM spectra at each spot on the particle surface then scan across the
vicinity of the particle. This was repeated at different relative delay between the electron and optical
pulse to obtain series of spectral mapping image as shown in Fig. 13c. PINEM has been also used to
study the coherent quantum control of the free electron population state as demonstrated by Feist et al.
[148]. This has been done by controlling the photo induced Rabi oscillations in the populations of
electron momentum states via changing the intensity of the optical driving field (Fig. 13d).
This work was conducted on a conical gold tip, the interaction of the electron and

Prosecuting Attorneys
What are the duties of a prosecutor? The prosecutor has broad discretion in determining whether or
not to charge the accused of a particular crime. Depending on the size of the municipality a prosecutor
serves, job duties can vary. In larger offices, prosecuting attorneys may be assigned to specific areas of
the law, such as traffic violations or juvenile offenses. In smaller offices, they may be responsible for
all aspects of criminal prosecution.
Prosecuting attorneys begin a case by reviewing police reports and performing research. They may
meet with witnesses or victims. They use their gathered information in court to present the case
against the accused defendant. Prosecuting attorneys must follow cases through each stage of the

Lockheed Martin Case Study

The team aspect of Lockheed Martin in my opinion would be generalized as a traditional works

However, when it comes to their product development department, there must be more of a

Personally, I suspect that this is not a feature often utilized and if an employee has an idea or

of communication from top managers, Lockheed Martin will continue to improve in this area.
Wrap Up Lockheed Martin began as a small venture of two individuals who passionately believed in
their product and the future of aviation. In their passion, a company was formed that would go through
highs and lows both in leadership, reputation and production development. Their management
philosophy of make it better combined with their lean management approach ensures that the product

Their strengths and weaknesses can be measured by the outside factors that they face. They continue
to be the largest defense product provider in the world however they face factors outside their control
which could upset the very structure and existence of their company. They migrate this risk by
diversifying their products and expanding their involvement in projects across the world. This

Archetypes In King Arthur And Odysseus
Archetypes have persisted in literary works through the sands of time and continue to be applied in
today s literature. Throughout traditional and modern literature, the formulaic structure of myths and
the use of archetypes has been utilized in a consistent manner. Although many would argue that the
universal application of archetypes has been erratic and intermittent through time, the implementation
of the major hero and mentor archetypes within the tale of King Arthur and The Odyssey, and the
refined utilization of archetypes in modern literature, exhibit the universality of archetypes in different
cultures and time periods.
The hero archetype in both the tale of King Arthur and The Odyssey exemplifies its omnitude in
British and Greek culture respectively. Although each hero delineates his own culture s values during
different times, it is evident that both share similar qualities and traits pertaining to the hero archetype.
In Homer s The Odyssey, Odysseus is representative of the Greek values of rule through Gods and
Goddesses. In contrast, King Arthur represents British values of rule without the significant influence
of supernatural beings. Granted that each story contains nearly opposite values, the hero archetype is
still able to resonate in both characters. One of the main heroic aspects portrayed by each character is
their dynamic personalities. Both King Arthur and Odysseus are distinguished as vigorous, audacious,
and most importantly wise in each of their

Social Structure And Hierarchy At The Gym
For the deviance assignment I decided to break the social norms that are prevalent in the gym while
working out. Cal Poly has a very active campus that uses the gym very regularly. The gym has its own
set of rules and norms that are followed by everyone. I personally do not spend a lot of time in the
gym so to prepare I watched 30 minutes of YouTube videos and read multiple lists of unwritten gym
rules and things not to do at the gym. The social structure and hierarchy at the gym is different than
real life. The gym social structure is based on how much muscle the person has and for how long the
person has been lifting. Therefore, I was at the bottom due to the fact that I am rail thin and do not
work out regularly. As someone at the bottom of the social order I was for the most part ignored,
similar to how one ignores the poor and homeless. The only way to get a reaction out of people was to
act out and disturb the social order. No one offered to help me and spend time with me to improve out
of the goodness of his or her heart, most people stick to themselves. The only way to be noticed is to
act out, similar to how poor people and homeless act out to get attention because they do not know
any other way. The only person to talk to me and tell me that I was messing around was a male in his
30 s who was very muscular and was a workout regular. He, in the social structure, is much higher and
the advice is similar to a teacher speaking down to a student. He told me that

The Forbidden City
Introduction
The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the mid Ming Dynasty to the end of the
Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, and now houses the Palace Museum. It was built
from 1406 to 1420 by the third Ming emperor Yongle, who upon usurping the throne, determined to
move his capital north from Nanjing to Beijing. In 1911 the Qing dynasty fell to the republican
revolutionaries. The last emperor, Puyi溥儀, continued to live in the palace after his abdication until
he was expelled in 1924. Twenty four emperors lived and ruled from this palace during this 500 year
span. The Forbidden City is a translation of the Chinese name Zijin Cheng紫禁城. The name Zijin

These were laid out precisely in accordance with a code of architectural hierarchy, which designated
specific features to reflect the paramount authority and status of the emperor. No ordinary mortal
would have been allowed or even dared to come within close proximity of these buildings.[2]
The Last Owner Puyi溥儀 After the republican revolution, this Palace as a whole would have been
sequestered by the Nationalist government were it not for the Articles of Favorable Treatment of the
Qing House 清室優待條件which allowed Puyi 溥儀to live on in the Inner Court after his abdication.
Meanwhile, all of the imperial treasures from palaces in Rehe (today s Chengde承德) and Mukden
(today s Shenyang沈陽) were moved to the Forbidden City for public display in History Museum
established at the Outer Court in 1914.[3]
In 1924, during a coup launched by the warlord Feng Yuxiang馮玉祥, Puyi was expelled from the
Forbidden City and the management of the palace fell to the charge of a committee set up to deal with
the concerns of the deposed imperial family. The committee began a sorting and counting of the
imperial treasures. A year of intense preparations later, its members arranged a grand ceremony on 10
October 1925 in front of the Palace of Heavenly Purity乾清門to mark the inception of the Palace

programs are changing rapidly. However, American high school athletes are not financially,

Millions of dollars in their pockets could be a dangerous idea. They may not be able to withstand the
pressures of professional sports and spend all their money on drugs and alcohol. What they do not
understand is that once they are in that spotlight, there is no turning back. Young athletes are exciting
to see in professional sports, but it makes you think of what they actually went through and handle in
everyday life as a teenager. In addition, Isamu Bae says ?Professional scouts must attempt to decipher
the maturity level of players, and for athletes in their teens, it is nearly impossible to figure out.?
Growing up, the time a child would have playing with his friends or going to the movies, would not be
there like for any normal kid. They made the sacrifice to play sports rather than have a social life and
be a regular kid. Marty Blake and other NBA scouts said, ?No high school player belongs in the
NBA? (Unknown 1). They don?t have the body type or mental strength to withstand night in, night out
beatings by bigger and faster people than them. Getting your education should be your first and most
important priority in life. Scholarships and other academic money will help you learn things that you
will never learn in your life. College ends up tapping into your outside sports life and lets you learn

The Master-Slave Ideology
When it comes to the notion of our importance as a people during the slave era, would it be a fact or
opinion that we head a higher significance. The master slave ideology takes many shapes. But in the
essay I will start at the auction block. At the auction block is we re conniving masters first meet the
slave. Although some slaves were sold against their own will, many of them had a choice of the
master. Slave owners would attend auctions and persuade slaves to become theirs by filling their heads
with promises of a good plantation life. This is the first of bonds formed between the master and slave
on the foundation of lies. Although we can conclude that these promises weren t kept, we have to
admit that the slave owner was quite smart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But because he felt a sense of loyalty to his master, he ignores the advice of the freed blacks and
continued down the river until he reached his master s brother. A slave had no rights of his own. He
was the absolute possession of his master. And he was obligated to give his master unquestioning
obedience. It was a humble position that demanded a man to think of his duties and obligations rather
than his privileges. And it demanded the slaves loyalty to his master. The slave had no interests of his
own, all he did was for His Master. (Marji Mike Kruger). On December 18th, 1865, President
Abraham Lincoln declared slavery to be illegal and he made slave owners set them free. Although this
law was written down, it didn t mean that the idea and ideology of slave master relationship vanished
completely. As history progressed onward, the term slave was replaced with a more demeaning term,
nigger. During this age, the definition of a slave was a person oppressed to a degree which a person s
will can t be done. Niggers [Negroes] were considered the second, inferior race. We finally were
considered to be human beings. Although we were so called free, we were still forced to live under
limited conditions. Yes, the physical chains, bolts, and locks were done away with but we were still
bared down by many laws that restrained us still from being recognized for a full potential. Set free

Definition Of Binary Expression Systems For Regulating...
(1C) Beyond spatial control, how can you use binary expression systems to achieve greater temporal
resolution in regulating gene expression? 1.Stereotaxic Cre delivery (via AAV) to animal which has
floxed sites can allow the researcher to determine the onset of Cre lox system activation. This is
advantageous because knockout can be induced in an adult animal and developmental compensation
or early embryonic fatality due to gene disruption could be avoided. This method is irreversible
2.Cre gene can be fused to the gene encoding estrogen receptor(ER). ER translocates to the nucleus
after binding to ligand and because Cre is fused to ER, Cre only translocated to the nucleus in
presence of ER ligand (tamoxifen). Therefore, the time of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
4.In Gal/UAS/Gal80 system, transgene expression can be regulated by temperature change. This
system, like Tet off/Tet on is also reversible. Gal4 expression is driven by cell specific promoter. Gal4
activates UAS which controls the transgene expression. The transgene will only express in cells
defined by the promoter regulating Gal4.Gal80, which is active at 19C and inactive at 30C, binds and
inhibits Gal4. Therefore, transgene expression can be turned on and off by changing the temperature
of the animal. (Carter and Shieh 2009)
Question 2
(2A) Discuss how you would molecularly clone this gene into a vector by traditional recombinant
DNA cloning methods, PCR cloning, or recombineering / synthetic DNA approaches.
If I determined the sequence of my gene, I can use PCR to amplify it and then clone the resulting
DNA into a vector.
1. PCR the gene of interest
a. I will assume that my gene is not surrounded by restriction sites. The forward and reverse primers
flanking the sequence of my gene would need to be designed. Add restriction sites at the 5 and 3 ends
for easy cloning of DNA into the vector (look at the restriction sites present in the vector and the
storage plasmid and tack those at the beginning of the primer).
b. Isolate genomic DNA from WT animal (want WT version of the gene) to be used as a template

Citizenship Of Illegal Immigrants
The scorching sun shimmered against the immigrants sweat, as they passed the border between the

water, accompanied by a couple of crackers, and a large bag of clothing. As they wander on the other
side of the border, their life will be different than the one they have left behind; will it be wonder, or
despair for these illegal immigrants? Illegal immigration is an issue which has followed the United

According to the book, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, it states, The millions of those
illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States are overwhelming law abiding, tax paying,
and hard working. By granting them citizenship, they can do much more (The Current Controversies,
97). The undocumented immigrants have broken the law by entering the United States without a
document but, the reason is because they could not wait from months to years for a reply of whether
they can be a legal immigrant or not. When they work, they are hardworking, and law abiding, with no
problems occurring during their work. The lives of others are not affected by their working, and when
granted the path of citizenship, from their personality of being law abiding. These undocumented
immigrants created less trouble for our daily lives because we are able to accomplish more jobs,
produce more products, and develop more improvement in the economy, that everyday lives would be
as easy as pie. Furthermore, the granting of citizenship benefits in decreasing the rate of crimes. Based
on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, it states, The vast majority want to stay in America to
work and so naturally steer clear of breaking any laws. Therefore, less crimes will be in America (The
Current Controversies, 96). As more undocumented immigrants enter the country of the United States,
they seek for work as their new life begins. Some of these undocumented immigrants stay in front of
stores such as 7/11, waiting for someone to hire them for work. The enlargement in the population of
the undocumented immigrants does not cause trouble for the citizens, but rather put them in ease.

The Power Of Knowledge In Berenbury, By Ray Bradbury
The choice of what is done with the power of knowledge lies in the hands of the beholder. In an
advanced society live firemen who have the job of burning houses of those who own books. The
protagonist, a fireman named Guy Montag, begins the story off saying, It was a pleasure to burn
(Bradbury 1). He lives this destructive lifestyle until one day on his way home he encounters Clarisse,
a analytic girl who questions him if he is happy. Her intriguing manner pushes him into not only
stealing books from houses in the process of burning them, but also reading them. Once Montag
realizes why knowledge is considered a burden, he conspires to frame the firemen. During this process
the fire chief, Beatty, discovers what he is doing, and tries to stop him. This results in him killing his
chief and a few of his fellow firemen after he is forced to burn down his own home, only to barely
escape to a camp full of fellow people who share the knowledge of books. The camp watches the city
be bombed, and soon heads to the city to rebuild it from the very beginning, starting with books.
Throughout the roughly 150 pages of this novel Ray Bradbury shows the importance on it how you
use your choices and how they will affect the conclusion. From only the very beginning, our
protagonist and antagonist share the same views on books as each other. Beatty, being a far more
intelligent person than Montag, uses his intellect to harshly mock a woman whilst burning her house.

Western Civilization Similarities
While learning about the Western Hemisphere civilizations I have noticed a few similarities between
them. For example, the Anasazi and the Woodland cultures both grew and cultivated their own food,
such as corn (Ancient America Lecture, Slide 24 and 29). Another similarity that I found was that the
Incas and the Aztecs both worshiped the sun god (Ancient America Lecture, Slide 41 and 48). On the
other hand, I noticed a couple differences between the civilizations. For instance, both the Mayans and
Aztecs performed human sacrifices regularly, but the Incas did not (Openstax, Chapter 1, section 7
and 13). The Incas would instead offer the gods food, clothes, and coca leaves and would only
perform human sacrifices in times of dire emergency (Openstax,

Political Parties
One way to measure the importance of political parties for our country is to consider the many things
that they do, even though they don t do many of them very well. Political parties tend to help make the
act of voting less irrational for voters because sometimes having a party identification greatly reduces
the time and effort involved in voting for an individual. Large majorities (of voters) still admit to a
party preference and use parties to guide their voting decisions. They do so because, despite the
divisions within the party coalitions and regardless of how they feel about the parties, the party labels
still carry valuable information about candidates, continuing to provide the cheap, shorthand cue so
useful to rationally ignorant voters (Kernell et al., 563). For example, Republicans usually favor a
smaller and cheaper form of federal government. They tend to advocate for lower spending on social
welfare and lower taxes. While Democrats are more supportive of government programs designed to
improve domestic welfare and would spend less on national defense when Republicans are very
generous toward the Defense Department. Democrats are more concerned with fairness and equality,
Republicans with letting free enterprise flourish (Kernell et al., 564). Republicans are anti abortion
and gay marriage and would be supportive of allowing official prayer and religion in public schools
while Democrats would not agree with any of the above. However, not all candidates

Galileo: Exploring the Universe, Encountering Resistance Galileo Galilei was an Italian Renaissance

based of a type of telescope built by Dutch eyeglass makers, and pointed it towards the sky, his

  • 2. The Ethical Theories Of The Ethics There are eight major ethical theories the ones that were focused on in the video were deontological and utilitarian. The deontological theory is the sense of obligation, that someone feels that it their morally duty to do the right thing. The utilitarian theory is that people act and behave so that they will produce happiness for the greatest number of people. These two different ethical theories are ways that people behave and think is morally correct. In the video the professor talked about the two ethical theories and how the choices that people make can connect to these two theories. The professor said that the utilitarian theory mantra is that good makes something right, and that these people are results oriented. The deontological theory mantra is that right makes something good, and that these people are motive oriented. The big question is what is the morally right thing to do? consequential moral reasoning says that someone should not kill an innocent person to say others. I think people should always try to avoid hurting other people, but if you could save five people and only one person die, would you do it? For example in the first situation where there are two ways the train can go with workers on it, with no brakes, and it can either hit five workers and save the one, or save five, and kill one worker by going down another track. The train driver has to decide quickly what to choose. Either way someone has to die, should it be five people or one? I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The case tries to highlight one of the most common issues faced by organisations, that is, how to handle a star performer who has a rash and bullying attitude towards others in an organisation. The basic and the most important managerial roles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pros: * Andy may open up with other employees, which may lead to change in his attitude. * By creating a competitive environment this may lead to motivating other employees. Cons: * May make Andy more grandiose about himself. * Initially it may demotivate other employees by the appreciation of the rudest employee. * It may look like unfair to praise the most ill behaved personality, just because he is a performer. 4. Initiative needed on Jane s part. Jane should tell Andy that a positive and a healthy work environment is one of the most important aspects of their organization, and his numbers are not sufficient to tag him as their star employee. Moreover Jane should realise herself that managing people is what is expected of an efficient manager. Pros: * Being an effective manager will help Jane give more inputs to an organisation as an effective manager. * The productivity of Jane s team and herself will improve if she learns how to handle people better. Cons: * Andy might feel that he is being targeted. * His performance may get affected due to the demotivation that may come along with Jane s attitude towards him. The Best Solution: In this scenario, we as a group propose the fourth solution as the best possible one according to which it is Jane herself who has to take an initiative and confront Andy directly stating him clearly what kind of ... They predict scrawny people in dirty striped uniforms staring closely as the others are numerously getting buried, or being bulldozed into mass graves. A large number of males who have possessed this genetic abnormality have had a high predisposition to crime and have constituted about 3.5 percent of males in the prison population (Reckless, p. 42). Some of these people feel that their race is inferior to others, but deal with it in different ways. Although the tension between whites and minorities was at it s strongest in the 1950 s, today s world still deals with racial discrimination. The question Is one race superior to all others? Some overcome this by believing one person can change how other races perceive them or by confronting the public and shining light on what s going on in the world. Angelou uses descriptive language to draw the readers in, she gives detail by detail of how the boxing match took place and all the emotions that were running through her. For the most part the writer is credible, she explains how the black community in her town came together to listen to the radio, but after some research it was found that Joe Louis and Primo Carnera only fought once and it was not a championship fight. Perhaps she was referring to that same fight, but simply made a mistake. Within any type of ethnic community, people will always find an icon they can believe in, People use these icons to seek power and acceptance as a way to hide their inferiority complex. People all over the world are tearing eachother down for meaningless racial competition. It isn t difficult to see that there are more important things in life than to be boasting about one s race. In Gloria Naylor s essay, The Meanings of a Word (1986), proves that the language of stereotypes can be powerful and painful to encounter. Naylor supports this statement by providing small anecdotes of how the first time she truly heard that derogatory term compared to when she heard people of her neighborhood using it. • 9. The Characteristics Of Ronald Reagan World leaders have immense power. Some use that power for good; others use it for evil. Whether they are looked upon fondly or not, world leaders are still loved by many people. They can inspire good character, good morals, and responsibility. The best example of this is how people view the United States presidents. Some of the former presidents are considered heroes, and even depicted to be on the same level as gods. These people have been so highly praised, that saying anything bad about them is looked down upon. There are statues and monuments dedicated to presidents such aslike George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy, and so on. This illustrates the fact thatThe point is, former US presidents are held in high regard. One of these presidents held to this high standard was the US president throughout most of the 1980s. His name was Ronald Reagan. Reagan He went from being a typecasted, Good Guy actor, to politician, to becoming President of the United States of America. Ronald Reagan s background as a performer contributed directly to his effectiveness as a politician. One of the character traits that Ronald Reagan embodied was good public speaking. Now, these personalities do not stay the same throughout their growth; many of them change and characteristics alter according to how they grow up childhood, religion, and the environment. I myself have had a very different personality when I was a child, compared to myself as an adult. I am an Extravert Sensing Thinking Judger (ESTJ). For example, we feel the need to be in lead and supervise. When we show this trait, people feel offended of our commanding and overbearing instructions. I dislike the times when I am forced into a change and transition because I need time to subdue the unusual and unfamiliar events that have occurred. I am not a perfectionist, but I get frustrated with people who are sloppy, irresponsible and inefficient; because that means they are not considerate of me at work. Ingsoc is Oceania s government. Also the widespread use of propaganda is quite evident in this book. Surveillance and propaganda are used to control, watch, and influence the peoples of Oceania. Ingsoc uses surveillance to watch and listen to every person living in Oceania. One quote makes this very evident and the quote is: Big Brother is watching you. Big brother is watching you means just what it sounds like. Ingsoc the government knows what each person is up to at all times because they are watching the peoples. Transgender People Face Harassment And Discrimination In 2015, at least 21 transgender people have been victims of fatal violence in the United States, more killings of transgender people than any other year on record. More transgender people were killed in the first six months of this year than in all of 2014. While we don t know many details about these victims experiences, research shows that transgender people face harassment and discrimination in numerous contexts throughout their lives. We know that the chances of facing discrimination, harassment and violence increase exponentially for transgender women of color, who also face racism and sexism. For many transgender women of color, the threat of violence is constant, and there are few if any places they feel safe. The purpose of the article is to find whether there is a relationship between institutional holdings and payout policy in U.S. public firms between 1980 and 1996. In the begging there is an abstract, that states the aim of the research and the reached findings. There are 7 sections in the article. The first one is introduction, where the authors explain what results are reached and carefully introduce the readers to the structure of the article. In the next section the hypotheses is derived. After that, section 3, the variables and the data is described. The tests begin from section 4 to section 6. In those sections the authors use non parametric tests, regression analyses and vector autoregressive specifications in order to reach their results. The last section is the conclusion of the article, where the major findings are listed. The authors find that institutions prefer firms that pay dividends to ones which don t. Moreover, within dividend paying firms, institutions are not attracted to high dividends. They also find a positive relation between repurchases and institutional holdings. Their results also suggest that institutions prefer firms that repurchase regularly to firms that repurchase sporadically. They don t find evidence that an increase in institutional holdings in firms is followed by an increase in dividends or repurchases. Their article has been cited 412 times by other authors. Little is known about dark energy, yet it takes up a huge amount if the universe. Not until to long ago, there was an inconsistency between the matter in space, the energy in the universe, and the flatness of space. Scientist studied the cosmic microwave background and a large scale structure, and they were able to conclude that the energy that keeps space flat is dark energy. Scientists are still trying to learn more about this mysterious energy. They conduct red shift surveys of the galaxy clusters; a galaxy cluster is consisted of thousands of galaxies, dark matter, and hot gases, bound together by gravity. When scientist conduct a red shift survey, the electrons from the hot gases scatter off the protons and produce X rays, which weaken with a higher red shift. Once and a while the electrons give some energy to a photon of the cosmic microwave background, which makes the black body spectrum to shift causing distortion, called the Sunyaev Zeldovich effect. Comparing the X rays to the Sunyaev Zeldfovich effect help scientist observe the faintest red shift in clusters. Various types of dark energy have been thought to be found, one is a cosmic field associated with inflation, a low energy field called quintessence, and the cosmological constant in its present living form does not balance gravity in order to keep a static universe, it has a negative pressure that cause the universe to accelerate. • 16. Analysis Of The Poem The Wife Of King Midas Mrs Midas Critical Commentary The poem, Mrs Midas is written from the perspective of the wife of King Midas; a character from Ovid s Metamorphoses . In the myth, King Midas was granted a wish where everything he touched turned to gold. Mrs Midas is part of a tradition of the feminist revisionist writing of mythology and fair tales. Duffy trivialises the myth by transplanting it to a modern, middle class, suburban setting. In the poem, Duffy uses a wide range of literary devices and conveys a large array of emotions which help to bring out the central themes of the poem. In stanza one Duffy depicts a conventional, middle class domestic setting; where the speaker, Mrs Midas is cooking vegetables and begins to unwind with a glass of wine . The quote, glass of wine emphasises the middle class, suburban setting and highlights revisionist element of the poem. Duffy writes stanzas one retrospectively, It was late September . Duffy uses this quote to set the scene but more importantly to indicate the fact that the event has already happened. This conveys the idea that the poem is being told as a story. In stanza one Duffy personifies the kitchen, with the line, its steamy breath gently blanching the windows . The quote emphasises that the kitchen is coming to life. Also the use of the simile, like a brow helps to convey the kitchen as a living thing. The word gently is used by Duffy to contrast the frenzied events which unfold later on in the poem. • 17. The NFL Protests Of The National Anthem NFL Protests of the National Anthem The National Football League players who are kneeling for the national anthem are disrespecting our country and what it stands for. Our flag stands for freedom and liberty. The players should respect that. Before every NFL game, the flag is brought out by an Honor Guard. This is part of a time honored ceremony intended to present our nation s colors (the flag) and National Anthem in a respectful manner. By kneeling during the national anthem, they are disrespecting the flag, the national anthem, all our nation stands for, the people currently serving in the armed forces and all of those who gave their lives in our nation s service. As a result of all the players or coaches kneeling, long time NFL fans are burning jerseys, cancelling season tickets, not showing up for games, not watching games, and canceling the NFL Sunday ticket and well they should. The players claim they are simply exercising their 1st Amendment Rights. The players are wrong. The Freedom of Speech Clause of the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution only protects people from Government attempts to restrict their speech. The NFL is not the government. The NFL is a private entity that has the right to stop its representatives (players) from violating its rules. This is why the NFL can require players to wear pink for breast cancer awareness or stop players from wearing 911 Memorials or fine players for celebrating in the end zone. The NFL operations manual requires the players to stand for the National Anthem with their right hand over their heart, their helmet in the left hand, while facing the Flag. Therefore, the players have no right to kneel during the National Anthem. All the NFL needs to do to end this nonsense is enforce the rules the players already agreed to follow. NFL football players have no greater right to protest on the football field than an employee at Wal Mart has to take a knee on aisle seven. Employers have the right to stop political speech on their premises or while employees are on the clock (there are some exceptions, but these do not apply). • 18. The Key Components Of The Physics Of Basketball The game of Basketball is a commonly well known sport throughout the world, but many people do not think about the science portion that has a big role in basketball. There are many key components in shooting, body movement, where the forces come from to shoot, the potential energy, and the physics of the shot. Many people only think of basketball as trying to perfect their jump shot, but usually that is not what the problem is, it is mostly whether or not their eyes and their arms are pointed towards the hoop. Jumpshot #2 will be most accurate due to the acceleration the player gets as they are trying to get the shot off therefore gaining more energy and momentum into the arms and into the ball, making it easier to get the shot off. There are many components to the physics of the game. The horizontal, and vertical components play a huge part in the physics of basketball, but both play a different role. The Horizontal component of velocity remains constant throughout the point in which the player jumps because it is not being affected by gravity. The Vertical component of velocity can determine how long the basketball player is airborne. Another key component in the Physics of Basketball is what the ball is made of. Most sports balls are composed of substances that are made of elasticity. The elasticity of the ball allows it to go back to its original shape after it has been stretched out or if it comes in contact with something that makes it lose it s original shape or ... • 19. Photon-Induced Near-Electron Microscopy Essay Photon induced near field electron microscopy (PINEM), a key UEM technique, is based on the photon electron interaction [83]. The basic principle of PINEM can be explained as follows: in free space, an electron cannot absorb a quantum of electromagnetic energy because of the lack of energy momentum conservation. However, in the presence of the nanostructure, the inelastic coupling between the free electrons and photons takes place [138, 139] due to the deceleration of the scattered photons and the stratification of the energy momentum conservation condition. The coupling leads to gain/loss of photon quanta by electrons in the electron packet, which can be resolved in the electron energy spectrum [83, 140 142] This spectrum consists of ... Also, he demonstrated the control of the spatial interference of the excitation plasmonic field. Also, the cross correlation images of the excited surface plasmon were obtained by control the relative delay between the driver laser pulse and the electron pulse. Worth notes, the enhancement of the temporal resolution in UEM to tens of femtoseconds [19] might allow eventually to image the plasmonic dynamics and its evolving in time and space. On the other hand, the indirect PINEM imagining (spectral mapping) enabled the envisage of excited surface plasmon on a subparticle scale [144]. This has been done by focusing the electron beam onto a single nanoparticle and record PINEM spectra at each spot on the particle surface then scan across the vicinity of the particle. This was repeated at different relative delay between the electron and optical pulse to obtain series of spectral mapping image as shown in Fig. 13c. PINEM has been also used to study the coherent quantum control of the free electron population state as demonstrated by Feist et al. [148]. • 33. The Power Of Knowledge In Berenbury, By Ray Bradbury The choice of what is done with the power of knowledge lies in the hands of the beholder. In an advanced society live firemen who have the job of burning houses of those who own books. The protagonist, a fireman named Guy Montag, begins the story off saying, It was a pleasure to burn (Bradbury 1). He lives this destructive lifestyle until one day on his way home he encounters Clarisse, a analytic girl who questions him if he is happy. Her intriguing manner pushes him into not only stealing books from houses in the process of burning them, but also reading them. Once Montag realizes why knowledge is considered a burden, he conspires to frame the firemen. During this process the fire chief, Beatty, discovers what he is doing, and tries to stop him. This results in him killing his chief and a few of his fellow firemen after he is forced to burn down his own home, only to barely escape to a camp full of fellow people who share the knowledge of books. The camp watches the city be bombed, and soon heads to the city to rebuild it from the very beginning, starting with books. Throughout the roughly 150 pages of this novel Ray Bradbury shows the importance on it how you use your choices and how they will affect the conclusion. From only the very beginning, our protagonist and antagonist share the same views on books as each other. Beatty, being a far more intelligent person than Montag, uses his intellect to harshly mock a woman whilst burning her house. Beatty ironically quotes a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Western Civilization Similarities While learning about the Western Hemisphere civilizations I have noticed a few similarities between them. For example, the Anasazi and the Woodland cultures both grew and cultivated their own food, such as corn (Ancient America Lecture, Slide 24 and 29). Another similarity that I found was that the Incas and the Aztecs both worshiped the sun god (Ancient America Lecture, Slide 41 and 48). On the other hand, I noticed a couple differences between the civilizations. For instance, both the Mayans and Aztecs performed human sacrifices regularly, but the Incas did not (Openstax, Chapter 1, section 7 and 13). The Incas would instead offer the gods food, clothes, and coca leaves and would only perform human sacrifices in times of dire emergency (Openstax, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Political Parties One way to measure the importance of political parties for our country is to consider the many things that they do, even though they don t do many of them very well. Political parties tend to help make the act of voting less irrational for voters because sometimes having a party identification greatly reduces the time and effort involved in voting for an individual. Large majorities (of voters) still admit to a party preference and use parties to guide their voting decisions. They do so because, despite the divisions within the party coalitions and regardless of how they feel about the parties, the party labels still carry valuable information about candidates, continuing to provide the cheap, shorthand cue so useful to rationally ignorant voters (Kernell et al., 563). For example, Republicans usually favor a smaller and cheaper form of federal government. They tend to advocate for lower spending on social welfare and lower taxes. While Democrats are more supportive of government programs designed to improve domestic welfare and would spend less on national defense when Republicans are very generous toward the Defense Department. Democrats are more concerned with fairness and equality, Republicans with letting free enterprise flourish (Kernell et al., 564). Republicans are anti abortion and gay marriage and would be supportive of allowing official prayer and religion in public schools while Democrats would not agree with any of the above. However, not all candidates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa, Italy, on February 15, 1564, the first of seven children of Vincenzo Galilei and Giulia Ammanati. In 1609, Galileo created a telescope, based of a type of telescope built by Dutch eyeglass makers, and pointed it towards the sky, his discoveries proved the Doctrine of Aristotle, an order set by the Catholic Church, wrong. This proved to be a key turning point in the scientific revolution. In 1623, a friend of Galileo s, Cardinal Maffeo Barberini, was elected as Pope Urban VIII. With the emergence of a new Pope Urban VIII, who admired Galileo, allowed him to resume his work in astronomy. He was also allowed to publish books as well, with the only condition that they provided an objective view and do not advocate Copernican theory. In 1632, Galileo published the Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems, a discussion among three people: one who supports Copernicus heliocentric theory of the universe, one who argues against it, and one who is impartial. Though Galileo claimed Dialogues was neutral, it was clearly not. It spiked a negative reaction from the Church, and Galileo was summoned to Rome by the Church. During the proceedings of Inquisition, which lasted from September 1632 to July 1633, Galileo was treated with respect and was never imprisoned. However, in a final attempt to break him, which Galileo was threatened with torture, he finally admitted that he had supported the Copernican theory, but privately held that his statements were correct. He was convicted of heresy and spent his remaining years under house arrest. While under house arrest, Galileo wrote Two New Sciences, a summary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
