Tristan Nitot, a principal Mozilla evangelist, presented on Firefox OS, an open source mobile operating system built entirely using HTML5 and standard web APIs. Firefox OS aims to break the dominance of proprietary mobile platforms by allowing developers to write apps for one platform, the open web, and by giving users and carriers more choice and control over the mobile experience. Firefox OS connects HTML5 directly to device hardware and offers a complete standalone OS for the open web.
