This document provides instructions for making soap using basic materials that may be found on a farm or homestead. It describes two methods - the first using lye, water, and animal fat purchased from a store. The second method is for when stores are not available, using wood ashes, animal fat rendered from butcherings, and lye produced by leaching the ashes. The process involves rendering the fat to purify it, making lye by leaching wood ashes, and boiling the lye and fat together until soap forms. Soft soap results without adding salt, while salt produces hard bar soap.

La propuesta busca mejorar la recolección de residuos sólidos en la comunidad de Coco e Mono en Venezuela a través de la participación activa de la comunidad y capacitación dirigida por el Consejo Comunal, estudiantes de la UCV y otras instituciones entre junio y octubre de 2013. El objetivo es estimular la participación comunitaria para crear comisiones que soliciten un mejor servicio de recolección, y desarrollar talleres sobre clasificación y recuperación de residuos para lograr que el 50% de la comunidad viva sin contaminación.
