During summer/fall of 1989, I was able to convince investment bankers at Oppenheimer & Co that the future will be the laptop computer and Tadiran Batteries Div. has the technology for the military type of lithium batteries needed for SINGARS, and this technology can be converted also for commercial use to power laptop computers. Tadiran refused to sell the division or adapt to commercial use in a business meeting with Tadiran Executive VP in New York who arrived specifically in New York, for this meeting at Oppenheimer Offices. Wonder what they would have decided if they would have the foresight.

One of the first ballasts for fluorescent bulbs/lights for more efficient lighting were defined as an invention and discoveries to come out of Berkeley Labs (developed independently) - the recommendation is in Hebrew by CEO of "RAPAC" at the time (1983) a known Israeli company. The concept was based on a Resonant Power Converter a novelty at the time and heavily used after the years 1995 - 2000 and until recently in solar farm converters. The electronic ballast was designed to operate two 70 watts EU T8 fluorescent lamps more efficiently than the core-coil type ballasts that are currently employed.
