Slovenia, Austria and Hungary invest a lot in the field of innovation, yet there are still challenges to be
faced involving innovation in all fields. One of them is related to the educational system which has to
be continuously adapted to the needs of the modern society with key topics of creativity, innovation
and entrepreneurship (CI&E) which are crucial competences that cannot be taught in a simple manner.
The project’s target group are teachers for the 2nd
and 3rd
triad in primary schools (pupils aged 9-14).
The project’s indirect target group are pupils.
The principal aim of the
InnoTeach project is to
trigger different ways of
thinking in primary schools
and to show that CI&E are
crucial for success –
everywhere; in all subjects,
in daily situations in school,
in real life challenges, and
to teach participants how
to implement that in
practice.
Teachers are equipped
with tools related to
perceiving innovation
opportunities, creating of
ideas all the way to
concrete solutions.
An old Latin proverb says "Verba docent exempla trahunt": Words instruct, illustrations lead. That is
why innovative teaching is also at the forefront of our project, since teachers, with their example, open
new possibilities for pupils.
Work, which takes place within workshops and online platforms, is practical and spiced up with
creativity, perseverance and courage.
How does InnoTeach work?
Within the IO1 (intellectual outputs) the profile of competencies, which teachers gain, were defined.
With the goal of the validation and recognition of competencies our exam system has been based on
ECQA standards of European Certification and Qualification Association and the Europass guidelines.

Development of Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
for Primary School Teachers

The OI2 was related to methodology development,
i.e. methodology for short motivating workshops for
the schools’ management, methodology for
selection of teachers and their comprehensive
training as well as methodology for international
cooperation and guidelines for innovative projects
implementation.
The IO3 focused on the preparation of training
materials encompassing the preliminary topics:
Developing a concrete innovation, Innovative
teaching and Making innovation work.
Based on the prepared concept and training materials (IO3), we carried out an International joint staff
training event (C1) which took place in Budapest, Hungary in July, 2017 and was hosted by ITStudy.
The result of a 5-day training event is 17 trained teachers. Teachers or mentors were trained to be
InnoTeach mentors to their colleagues from their school, who are now joining the project. Due to hard
working participants and dynamic programme the training resulted in teachers’ concrete, inspiring and
innovative projects.
Some thoughts from the participants:
The latter was followed by IO4, i.e. preparation of e-
Training portfolio (an e-environment on one of the
already existing e-platforms, Moodle). Not only
short power point presentations, but also additional
explanatory sequences, examples, videos, useful
links as well as other supporting materials and many
concrete "homework" were prepared. We
developed an up-to-date blended learning platform;
e-learning environment, which is supported by
internationally trained mentors and colleagues
working on our project. The result is a highly
motivating and efficient learning environment.
Further activities focused on the national e-training (C2), which is being attended by additional 50-60
teachers. Participating teachers are gaining knowledge and skills from the field of CI&E. As the
forefront of our project aim, it is important to expand personal competences necessary for successful
implementation of ideas, e.g. self-confidence, courage, risk attitude, teamwork, etc.).

“During the training we listened to interesting and useful
lectures by the coordinators, and a practical part related to
each lectures. The keywords, which described our work in
these days, are teamwork, cooperation, agreement. Creative
thinking played major role during the training. We met
several methods as SWOT analysis, Quadim, making team
project from problem analyzing to problem solving and
implementation.”

Within IO5 the InnoTeach Exam System focused on
validation and recognition of skills and competences
gained through non-formal education, which was
developed in line with the ECQA exam methodology. With
the aforementioned certificate, we set very high
standards for all project activities and presented an
additional motivation factor and reference. In addition,
teachers-mentors will receive the Europass certificate.
Activities Planned
Within national and international Multiplier Events (spring 2018) we will present the main project
results from the perspective of project partners and mainly school headmasters, teachers, local
stakeholders and pupils. In addition, we will emphasise the international dimension of the project
which may result in new networks and exchange of best practices.
The multiplier events scheduled in different partner countries are:
Slovenia OŠ Trnovo, Ljubljana on 9th
March 2018
Hungary Számalk-Szalézi Secondary School, Budapest on 7th
March 2018
Austria FH Krems, Krems an der Donau on 3rd April 2018
Based on the project activities, evaluation and country
specifics the final InnoTeach Model will be developed, i.e. an
optimised comprehensive toolbox (IO6) representing a set of
methodology, guidelines and materials for efficient
implementation of the project goals to other schools and its
validation.
Down to a well-prepared project, highly motivated
participants, concrete and state-of-the-art outputs, we
strongly believe, our international project represents a good
base for further implementation within national elementary
school environment. We also believe that InnoTeach has a
great potential to be transferred to other countries as well as
to other educational levels. And what is most important, our
children can expect highly motivated teachers, equipped with
the competences for the 21th century.
International Meetings
1st international meeting (Ljubljana, Slovenia – October 2016)
The partner organisations held a successful project kick-off meeting in Slovenia’s capital. The Slovenian
partners hosted participants from Austria and Hungary as well as local stakeholders from Slovenia.
Altogether 17 individuals attended the meeting. Ms Sabina Benvenuti Topič from Cmepius (national
agency) also participated at the meeting. The partners agreed on the InnoTeach planned activities,
deadlines and method of work.

2nd international meeting (Graz, Austria – January 2017)
I.S.C.N. GesmbH, the Austrian partner in cooperation
with ORG Grazer Schulschwestern, hosted 25
participants at the productive 2-day meeting in Graz, at
which all partners shared the progress each has made
to date on their work packages, i.e. profile of
competences of InnoTeach mentors/teachers,
methodology, training and pedagogical materials, e-
training portfolio and InnoTeach exam system.

3rd international meeting (Gödöllő, Hungary – September 2017)
Hungarian partner iTStudy Hungary Educational and Research Centre for IT hosted the 3rd
international
meeting which was attended by all representatives of partner organisations. The meeting addressed
the topic of e-training, plan for implementation and dissemination.

Innoteach project 1st newsletter

Slovenia, Austria and Hungary invest a lot in the field of innovation, yet there are still challenges to be faced involving innovation in all fields. One of them is related to the educational system which has to be continuously adapted to the needs of the modern society with key topics of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship (CI&E) which are crucial competences that cannot be taught in a simple manner. The project’s target group are teachers for the 2nd and 3rd triad in primary schools (pupils aged 9-14). The project’s indirect target group are pupils. The principal aim of the InnoTeach project is to trigger different ways of thinking in primary schools and to show that CI&E are crucial for success – everywhere; in all subjects, in daily situations in school, in real life challenges, and to teach participants how to implement that in practice. Teachers are equipped with tools related to perceiving innovation opportunities, creating of ideas all the way to concrete solutions. An old Latin proverb says "Verba docent exempla trahunt": Words instruct, illustrations lead. That is why innovative teaching is also at the forefront of our project, since teachers, with their example, open new possibilities for pupils. Work, which takes place within workshops and online platforms, is practical and spiced up with creativity, perseverance and courage. How does InnoTeach work? Within the IO1 (intellectual outputs) the profile of competencies, which teachers gain, were defined. With the goal of the validation and recognition of competencies our exam system has been based on ECQA standards of European Certification and Qualification Association and the Europass guidelines. InnoTeach project KA2-SE-33/16 The European Commission support for the production of this publication does not constitute endorsement of the contents which reflects the views only of the authors, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein. The OI2 was related to methodology development, i.e. methodology for short motivating workshops for the schools’ management, methodology for selection of teachers and their comprehensive training as well as methodology for international cooperation and guidelines for innovative projects implementation. The IO3 focused on the preparation of training materials encompassing the preliminary topics: Developing a concrete innovation, Innovative teaching and Making innovation work. Based on the prepared concept and training materials (IO3), we carried out an International joint staff training event (C1) which took place in Budapest, Hungary in July, 2017 and was hosted by ITStudy. The result of a 5-day training event is 17 trained teachers. Teachers or mentors were trained to be InnoTeach mentors to their colleagues from their school, who are now joining the project. Due to hard working participants and dynamic programme the training resulted in teachers’ concrete, inspiring and innovative projects. Some thoughts from the participants: The latter was followed by IO4, i.e. preparation of e- Training portfolio (an e-environment on one of the already existing e-platforms, Moodle). Not only short power point presentations, but also additional explanatory sequences, examples, videos, useful links as well as other supporting materials and many concrete "homework" were prepared. We developed an up-to-date blended learning platform; e-learning environment, which is supported by internationally trained mentors and colleagues working on our project. The result is a highly motivating and efficient learning environment. Further activities focused on the national e-training (C2), which is being attended by additional 50-60 teachers. Participating teachers are gaining knowledge and skills from the field of CI&E. As the forefront of our project aim, it is important to expand personal competences necessary for successful implementation of ideas, e.g. self-confidence, courage, risk attitude, teamwork, etc.). “I improved my ICT skills, learnt a lot about how to prepare and lead an innovative project.” “During the training we listened to interesting and useful lectures by the coordinators, and a practical part related to each lectures. The keywords, which described our work in these days, are teamwork, cooperation, agreement. Creative thinking played major role during the training. We met several methods as SWOT analysis, Quadim, making team project from problem analyzing to problem solving and implementation.” “We will use some new tools during class and some concrete benefits of the projects our teachers will make.”

Within IO5 the InnoTeach Exam System focused on validation and recognition of skills and competences gained through non-formal education, which was developed in line with the ECQA exam methodology. With the aforementioned certificate, we set very high standards for all project activities and presented an additional motivation factor and reference. In addition, teachers-mentors will receive the Europass certificate. Activities Planned Within national and international Multiplier Events (spring 2018) we will present the main project results from the perspective of project partners and mainly school headmasters, teachers, local stakeholders and pupils. In addition, we will emphasise the international dimension of the project which may result in new networks and exchange of best practices. The multiplier events scheduled in different partner countries are: Slovenia OŠ Trnovo, Ljubljana on 9th March 2018 Hungary Számalk-Szalézi Secondary School, Budapest on 7th March 2018 Austria FH Krems, Krems an der Donau on 3rd April 2018 Based on the project activities, evaluation and country specifics the final InnoTeach Model will be developed, i.e. an optimised comprehensive toolbox (IO6) representing a set of methodology, guidelines and materials for efficient implementation of the project goals to other schools and its validation. Down to a well-prepared project, highly motivated participants, concrete and state-of-the-art outputs, we strongly believe, our international project represents a good base for further implementation within national elementary school environment. We also believe that InnoTeach has a great potential to be transferred to other countries as well as to other educational levels. And what is most important, our children can expect highly motivated teachers, equipped with the competences for the 21th century. International Meetings 1st international meeting (Ljubljana, Slovenia – October 2016) The partner organisations held a successful project kick-off meeting in Slovenia’s capital. The Slovenian partners hosted participants from Austria and Hungary as well as local stakeholders from Slovenia. Altogether 17 individuals attended the meeting. Ms Sabina Benvenuti Topič from Cmepius (national agency) also participated at the meeting. The partners agreed on the InnoTeach planned activities, deadlines and method of work. GesmbH, the Austrian partner in cooperation with ORG Grazer Schulschwestern, hosted 25 participants at the productive 2-day meeting in Graz, at which all partners shared the progress each has made to date on their work packages, i.e. profile of competences of InnoTeach mentors/teachers, methodology, training and pedagogical materials, e- training portfolio and InnoTeach exam system.
