The Indian Council for Child Welfare was established in 1952 and is headquartered in New Delhi. It aims to secure opportunities and facilities necessary for children's physical, mental, spiritual, and social development. Its objectives include protecting children from neglect, abuse, and exploitation; supporting family and community programs to enhance children's quality of life; and promoting legislation and implementation relating to children's welfare. The Council provides early childhood care through crèches, training for childcare workers, education support, and rehabilitation for abandoned children.
