This document provides instruction on solving various types of polynomial and rational inequalities. It begins with three learning objectives: 1) solve quadratic inequalities, 2) solve polynomial inequalities of degree 3 or greater, and 3) solve rational inequalities. Several examples are then shown that illustrate how to solve each type of inequality through algebraic manipulation and by testing values in the inequality. Specific steps are outlined for solving rational inequalities, which involve writing the inequality in a certain form and determining intervals on a number line based on values that make the numerator or denominator equal to zero.
