 Change means to
modify or transform
something and
change it to some
degree without
altering its essential
nature.
Change is doing something
different.
Improvement is getting
better at doing the same
thing.
 Change is the only constant, indeed, even
change itself changes, but more than two third
of organizational change management effort
fails, what’s the change all about, why is
change so hard, is change equal to
improvement?
 Change is always there; improvement can only be
there if people accept change,
 change will come by itself. Improvement is the reward
for being willing to change. We become better
individuals; therefore, our 'tribe' improves.
 Improvement CANNOT happen without change, and
change SHOULD NOT happen without improvement.
 The two go together. An organization can become or be
made differently by the addition or alteration of
something for the better. In other words, change
without good reason and adding value is futile and
useless.
 Change is the alteration of a state of being
(Status).
 The outcome of that dynamics could be positive or
negative depending on the viewpoint or intent of the
instigators, recipients or observers. Change
management is a tool used to effectively accomplish an
organizational improvement..
 Change - It's decision, you must think harder to take
this decision; Improve - It's the process, you must
work harder to improve.
 Change with improvement in mind is a proactive
approach that allows for planning and supportive
considerations to be made and, therefore, is much more
likely to turn into a smooth and successful collaborative
transition. Change without wanting to improve is a re-
action to outside forces and, therefore, full of limitations.
It often reflects a disorganized environment and major
irritations for everybody

 Change Management is People Focused, Continuous
Improvement is Product Focused
 Change Management Is Revolution, Continuous Improvement
Is Evolution
 Change Management Is Risk Taking, Continuous Improvement
is Risk Adverse
 Change Management Thinks, Continuous Improvement
Measures
 There are three types of change you need to be
aware of, and these are:
 Developmental Change
 Transitional Change
 Transformational Change
Firstly, there is Developmental Change; this occurs
when you recognize a need to make improvements to an
existing situation.
You aren’t recreating the entire workflow but are instead
refining it to make it better.
Secondly there is Transitional Change; this happens
when you recognize the need to implement a completely
new course of action.
You have a set plan for making this change happen and
are able to control the implementation process over a
designated period of time.
 And finally you can
experience Transformational Change.
This isn’t necessarily something that you control as
much as you recognize and survive.
 Being able to recognize the three types of change should
help you to develop your own change
management skills. If you can identify the type of
change occurring in your workplace you’ll be better able
to control the reactions your team members have to
those changes!

Improvement and change ppt

  • 2.  Improvement means focusing on significant and systemic issues in order to try and bring about an overall improvement in standards of administrative conduct.
  • 3.  Change means to modify or transform something and change it to some degree without altering its essential nature.
  • 4. Change is doing something different. Improvement is getting better at doing the same thing.
  • 5.  Change is the only constant, indeed, even change itself changes, but more than two third of organizational change management effort fails, what’s the change all about, why is change so hard, is change equal to improvement?
  • 6.  Change is always there; improvement can only be there if people accept change,  change will come by itself. Improvement is the reward for being willing to change. We become better individuals; therefore, our 'tribe' improves.  Improvement CANNOT happen without change, and change SHOULD NOT happen without improvement.  The two go together. An organization can become or be made differently by the addition or alteration of something for the better. In other words, change without good reason and adding value is futile and useless.
  • 7.  Change is the alteration of a state of being (Status).  The outcome of that dynamics could be positive or negative depending on the viewpoint or intent of the instigators, recipients or observers. Change management is a tool used to effectively accomplish an organizational improvement..  Change - It's decision, you must think harder to take this decision; Improve - It's the process, you must work harder to improve.  Change with improvement in mind is a proactive approach that allows for planning and supportive considerations to be made and, therefore, is much more likely to turn into a smooth and successful collaborative transition. Change without wanting to improve is a re- action to outside forces and, therefore, full of limitations. It often reflects a disorganized environment and major irritations for everybody
  • 8.  Change Management Jumps, Continuous Improvement Walks.  Change Management is People Focused, Continuous Improvement is Product Focused  Change Management Is Revolution, Continuous Improvement Is Evolution  Change Management Is Risk Taking, Continuous Improvement is Risk Adverse  Change Management Thinks, Continuous Improvement Measures
  • 9.  There are three types of change you need to be aware of, and these are:  Developmental Change  Transitional Change  Transformational Change
  • 10. Firstly, there is Developmental Change; this occurs when you recognize a need to make improvements to an existing situation. You aren’t recreating the entire workflow but are instead refining it to make it better. Secondly there is Transitional Change; this happens when you recognize the need to implement a completely new course of action. You have a set plan for making this change happen and are able to control the implementation process over a designated period of time.
  • 11.  And finally you can experience Transformational Change. This isn’t necessarily something that you control as much as you recognize and survive.
  • 12.  Being able to recognize the three types of change should help you to develop your own change management skills. If you can identify the type of change occurring in your workplace you’ll be better able to control the reactions your team members have to those changes!
