Groundnut Seed Roadmap Tanzania_TL III Annual Meet

Strategic partners & their roles in Groundnut Seed Systems Partner Role Naliendele Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) Germplasm maintenance, Variety development, evaluation and release. Production of Breeder and Foundation seed Agricultural Seed Agency (ASA) Seed systems support, helping collaborating NGO`s, Private seed companies, Agro-dealers and FRG`s with quality seed production/ monitoring Tanzania Official Seed Certification Institute (TOSCI) Field & seed inspection, sampling, seed testing, variety evaluation & verification through NPT, DUS tests & control plot testing District Agricultural Irrigation & Cooperative Offices (DAICO`s) Provision of guidance in crop production technologies and associated packages e.g GAP Farmers and Farmer Groups Users Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society (AMCOS) Capacitate farmers formation of associations for collective production and marketing International Crops Research Institute for Semi- Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) Provide improved groundnut germplasm, capacity building through training& research on cost-effective methods for technology dissemination.
