Athra Trading / Athra NJ - New York & Rutherford NJ reorganized the corporate structure and reporting of this 35 million in sale wholesale jewelry company, prepared new business plan with re-motivating the senior staff by redefining responsibilities with in the sales force & organization, assisted in valuating and acquiring new premises in Carlstadt, NJ submitted request for new credit facility and approved $5 million mortgage, resulting in sales growth from $22 to $35 million. 47 Street Photo Inc., New York, NY was send by the accounting firm Arthur Andersen to try and salvage this $350 million in sales company from Chapter 11 and their entanglement with the NYS and IRS tax authorities. Established new middle management structure and motivated staff with the prospect of establishing an ESOP, bonded warehouse to enable continued supply of goods, negotiated with the taxation entities to soften their stance with the ESOP establishment. Unfortunate even that sales and profitability rebounded; certain family members’ shareholder opposed the ESOP plan which stiffened the IRS approach. The company was re-established by part of the family into B&H Photo active to this date.
