Essay Writing Paper
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Writing Paper" can be a challenging endeavor. The
difficulty lies not only in the complexity of the topic itself but also in the meta-awareness
required to navigate the intricacies of discussing the process of essay composition while
simultaneously engaging in that very process.
One must carefully balance the need for practical advice with the demand for theoretical
reflection. It's essential to provide concrete strategies for brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and
revising, while also delving into the underlying principles of effective communication, critical
thinking, and scholarly discourse.
Moreover, there's a delicate line to tread between being instructive and being overly prescriptive.
While offering guidance on structure, style, and argumentation, one must avoid imposing rigid
rules that stifle creativity and individual expression. It's about fostering a sense of autonomy and
empowerment in the writer, encouraging them to find their voice and develop their unique
approach to the craft.
Furthermore, tackling the topic of essay writing necessitates grappling with the inherent
subjectivity involved. What works for one writer may not work for another, and what constitutes
a successful essay can vary widely depending on context, audience, and purpose. Navigating this
terrain requires a nuanced understanding of rhetorical strategies, audience analysis, and genre
conventions.
In essence, writing an essay on "Essay Writing Paper" involves a recursive process of reflection,
analysis, and synthesis. It demands both a deep understanding of the principles and practices of
academic writing and a willingness to engage critically with those principles and practices. It's a
task that requires patience, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous learning and
improvement.

Food Culture in Vietnam and America
When we discuss about the differences between Vietnamese and America culture, we
can think of many things such as History, Style of Music, Arts, Religion, Language,
etc. And, I will tell you some differences and similarities in eating culture of the two
countries. Even though they both have things in common such as family s dinner, tea
and coffee for morning, three meals a day or small snacks between main meals. But,
the food cultures of two countries are different in many ways including kinds of
farmland, living style, cooking style and eating style.
First of all, Vietnam and America both have farmlands and seas to raise animals and

The basic food in Vietnam is dry; the meals usually come with rice, vegetables,
eggs, and small amounts of meat and fish. Although similar to Chinese cooking,
Vietnamese cooking uses little fat or oil for frying. Fish sauce is a main spice in
almost every Vietnamese dish. In addition, they drink a large amount of hot green tea
and coffee without adding sugar, milk, or lemon. As same as Vietnamese, in America
they have three meals a day with some snacking on fruits and
Essay On Immigration Bond
If you or a family member has been arrested for reasons related to immigration, you
will need to acquire an immigration bond from a bail bondsman in order to get your
loved one released from custody. There are two kinds of immigration bonds that are
available, and the experts at Northwest Bail Bonds in Torrington, CT, will help you
determine if a delivery bond or a voluntary departure bond is necessary for your
family s particular situation.
The Risks of Getting Arrested
Unfortunately, even individuals who have become naturalized citizens are at the risk
of deportation if they are convicted of a felony. A law was passed in 2005 that
allows the government to strip a convicted felon of naturalized citizenship, a green
card, or asylum status.
The law was initially designed to protect Americans from those who have been
accused of crimes related to terrorism, but it can be applied in a wide variety of
situations, and it has been. If a loved one is an immigrant and is arrested for
committing an alleged crime, it is important to speak to a bail bondsman as soon as
possible. The sooner you get your loved one released from custody, the sooner a
criminal attorney will start building the case and putting together a solid defense.

Homogeneous Mixtures Lab Report
Thursday, October 28 in Ms. O Brien s science class we performed two
experiments. The first experiment was called the Mixed Substances Lab. In this lab
we were to see how properties of individual substances compare with properties of
mixed substances. There were three research definitions that we needed to know. The
first was the definition of a mixture, which is a combination of two or more
substances that are not combined chemically but physically. Secondly, the definition
of a homogeneous mixture. Homogeneous mixtures are mixtures in which the
substance is uniform in structure or composition throughout. Lastly, the definition of
heterogeneous mixtures. This is when a solution consists of dissimilar parts of
elements or when you can see the individual elements. Our hypothesis was if the
properties of individual substances compare with properties of mixed substances and
we mix water with cornstarch, then it will create a substance that s properties switch
between a solid and liquid that is a homogeneous mixture.
The objective of the Investigating Mixtures Lab was to observe that not all liquids
behave the same way when mixed with other liquids. The hypothesis was if not all
liquids behave the same way when mixed with other liquids and I mix colored water
and vegetable oil then the vegetable oil will rise to the top and separate. ... Show more

This is because it was not uniform in structure or composition throughout the
substance. You could see both materials separately. If droplets of soap were added
to the mixture of water and oil, the water would be on the bottom because it is the
densest liquid. The oil would be on the top, which leaves the soap to be in the
middle. This is because the oil is the least dense material and the soap is less dense
than water, but denser than oil. If this lab was done again with different types of oil
it would be expected to result in the same order. The water is denser than all

The Cloud Of Wild Canadian Geese
A subdued accumulation of churning murky grey clouds presses forward from the
eastern horizon and occupies half of the mid afternoon s sky. The sun s blistering
rays diffuse in the clouds and tinges the cloud s outer edges with shades of crimson
and wine. The lake s clear, echoing plane beckon the luminance of the cloud s striking
blend of colors. Its stagnant nature furnishes a reflection of the full length of the
radiant sky, down to the terrain s low banking hills and grassy overgrowths within
the fields. A thin assembly of tall, heavily branched loblolly pines enshroud the
compass of the landscape, forming an imitation of an opaque forest wall. The rainfall
deepens and electrifies the inertness of the terrain. The pines shake from side to side
in the blustery weather, waving and swirling their branches around with vigorous
activity. A short leafed oaktree, much larger and archaic than its counterparts, stands
firmly on the precipice of the lake s long, curving contour. An exposed gaggle of
wild Canadian geese shuffle their soiled webbed feet with short, quick steps
alongside their goslings through lush bunches of wild grass en route towards
shelter from the unforgiving downpour. The gaggle takes cover from under the oak
tree s high adhering limbs by the edge of the lake. Two of the oak tree s main
protruding limbs expand upward and slanted, in opposing directions. Mossy vines
crawl up and around the oak s trunk and hang from the tips of the main limb

Tennessee Williams Research Paper
Tennessee Williams is named a great American playwright for a number of valid
reasons. His unique gifts bring to life plays that captivate the audience whether they
are reading or watching the story. A distinguishing feature of his writing is his use of
parenthetical italics. Tennessee Williams uses parenthetical italics to create tangible
characters in A Streetcar Named Desire, to convey themes of truth and illusion in The
Glass Menagerie, and to create a more immersive experience for his audience.
Tennessee Williamsuses parenthetical italics to build realistic characters that seem
free to declare their contradictory selves rather than being harnessed by the play s
storytelling needs, (Miller xi). A great example of how he uses italics... Show more

On top of using costuming and color in A Streetcar Named Desire and the screen
device in The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee has other unconventional ways of
conveying character and theme, all with one valid aim, and that is a close
approach to truth, (Menagerie xix). American playwriting is a new set piece on
the world s stage and is in its nature more experimental and modern. A much older
piece is the European playwriting with William Shakespeare as its mascot.
Williams s contribution to American playwriting is the inclusion of a lot of
parenthetical italics, which are almost nonexistent in Shakespeare s work.
Shakespeare s lyricism instead focused on dialogue, leaving the stage directions,
costuming, and set design more ambiguous. Williams does not infuse his plays
with poetry and instead writes with language flowing from the soul, that overall
enhances the realness of his character s dialogue and calls for symbolism in
technical and theatrical devices to create a meaningful story (Miller xi). The italics
are a way for Williams to translate the specific vision of the story he has in his mind
to paper and the stage. Williams dubs his experimental techniques as part of his
plastic theater that must replace old theater to resume
Anger In The Absurd Theatre
Anger is a feeling that can be associated with physiology or psychology. Many
factors such as race, class, gender, ethnicity, religion can cause anger. Anger could
be perceived as something natural but also could be perceived as something
disastrous. Anger is not like any feeling as because it is the most severe feeling.
Although it is the most dangerous feeling, people always get angry due to many
reasons (Kim10). Goldhor lerner stated that: Anger is a signal .... It may be a
message that we are being hurt, that our rights are being violated; that our needs or
wants are not being adequately met or simply that something is not right (1).
According to Seneca, anger is a catastrophe that leads to bad things. He argued...

It is used to describe working class life. The writers in that time tended to use real
words, real behaviors and real thoughts. The settings that were depicted in the
plays were also real. Osborne s Look Back in Anger, (1956) reflect his criticism of
his society. Osborne s anger was represented by the major character, Jimmy Porter,
who is angry and he is not satisfied with the society. The struggle between the
middle and the upper classes was tackled through Porter and Alison. The title of
Look Back in Anger reflects his anger. Most of the titles at that time reflected
anger, wrath, and depression as people were not satisfied with the authority and the
social system (Innes 98 103). Osborne s The Entertainer (1957) was a significance
work. Osborne s hero is Archie Rice, who rejected his society and everything in his
life. The settings and the titles of Osborne s plays were accurately chosen to deliver
his message. Osborne reflected how people were not happy and they were really
suffering at that time. Osborne criticized the political system in most of his play (Innes

The, Genetic And Epigenetic Mutations
Cancer, one of the most common diseases in the world, is a result of genetic and
epigenetic mutations. Where genetics was at first used to explain phenotypes and
disease, genetics alone could not explain the sheer amount of phenotypic diversity in
a population nor could it explain phenomenon such as how, monozygotic twins or
cloned animals [could] have different phenotypes and different susceptibilities to a
disease. Thus entered the field of epigenetics. Epigenetics is, the study of heritable
changes in geneexpression that occur independent of changes in the primary DNA
sequence. Therefore, epigenetics has its own, independent mechanisms to affect the
genotypes and phenotypes of individuals.
Although technically independent of one another, like genetics, epigenetics can be
greatly influenced and altered by external factors such as ones environment. For
example, one study looked at the importance of nutrition in early life and its effects
on the epigenome. Using families involved in the Dutch Hunger Winter and the Great
Leap Forward in China, the study found that children exposed to famine in utero had
DNA methylation changes in genes associated with birth weight and low density
lipoprotein. When followed up, years later, with a study of nutritional deprivation in
mice, data showed that epigenetic changes not only affected the babies in utero, but
also affected the next generation of mice.
A Brief History of Epigenetics

The Price Of The Penny
The Penny is essentially a vital part of our money system. There has been many
speculation about whether or not the United States should abolish the penny from
being minted any longer. Although the penny has been a part of the American
culture since 1787, it has such a small value, it will always be a part of American
history. So as the years go on we should realize that the penny is everything to the
United States. The penny should not be eliminated from the money system due to the
fact that it is a part of the American culture and has earned its respect over the years.
In America, there is still a debate if the penny should be eliminated. If it was to be
eliminated it would still be used, but in a minimal way. In Canada, the Canadian
penny was eliminated due to cost, time, and the country believed it was a waste of
money, inflation reduced its purchasing power by 95% since it was first minted
domestically in 1908: back then the cent could buy goods of the cost of $0.20, today
in other words. (The Economist). Once a small coin can no longer be used to buy
individual items at that price, but it is only used to make change, it becomes more
trouble than it is worth. Canadian pennies cost 1.6 Canadian cents to manufacture,
and the government expected to save $11 million a year by eliminating them (The
Economist). But that sum equivalent to 0.0006% of GDP is small change. Canadians
feel that eliminating pennies is that their feeble purchasing power means dealing with
coins,

Article Review
Cultural responsiveness and school wide positive behavior support although total
opposites in theoretical foundations, when blended together in the school system can
have a positive outcome for student s cultural equity. With the increasing clash of
cultures between teachers and students, teachers today must practice being
sociocultural conscious while, being culturally responsive to their students needs and
behavior in order to be an effective teacher. These topics are important because
although the demographics of the student population are quickly changing and are
more diverse than ever, the demographics of the teacher workforce are staying
predominately white. This reason is why I chose the articles, Toward a Conceptual
Integration of Cultural Responsiveness and Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support, as
well as, A Culturally Responsive Counter narrative of effective teaching.
The student population is more diverse than ever before with non white enrollment
up to 45% in 2008 from 32% in 1988 (Aud, Hussar, Planty, Snyder, Bianco, Fox,
Drake, 2010). With the changing student demographics it is important that we as
educators focus on educational practices that afford all students a level playing field
in their educational experience. Discipline outcomes for culturally and linguistically
diverse students particularly those of African American descent and people of color,
such as Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Native
Pampers Diapers
According to Natural News, Pampers diapers are giving kids virtually every type of
cancer. This article claims that this is due to the petrolatum that Pampers includes in
their diapers for its moisturizing benefits. The article goes on to explain that this
petrolatum could contain PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) which are
carcinogenic to humans.
Petrolatum is an off white, odorless, tasteless substance. It is often used in
Vaseline, Mineral Wax and Paraffin Jelly for its moisturizing effects. It is
classified as slightly hazardous when placed in direct contact with the eyes or
ingested. These both seem to pose unlikely risks for your child, as the petrolatum is
present inside the diaper, not just loosely available for ingestion or eye contact. For
ingestion, the baby would have to eat the entire diaper to be at risk, and if the baby
did eat the diaper, it only causes slight irritation of the gastrointestinal tract. The most
severe symptom of GI ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Natural News then stated that styrene, ethylbenzene and isopropylene were found in
diaper emissions and that they most certainly cause cancer. According to the EPA
and the FDA, styrene is not classified as a carcinogen. Ethylbenzene is also not
classified as a carcinogen. If you come in direct contact with isopropyl, or you set
it on fire, you could have a problem on your hands as it is corrosive, highly
flammable and the vapors can cause dizziness. However, as previously mentioned it
is very unlikely that babies will come in direct contact with chemicals or fire, so they
should be safe. The only PAHs actually classified by the EPA as carcinogenic are
benz(a)anthracene, benzo(a)pyrene, benzo(b)fluoranthene, chrysene,
dibenz(ah)anthracene, and indeno(1,2,3 cd) pyrene. Natural News does not mention
any of these compounds as being found in Pampers
Depression Treatments
CONTEXT Depression is a psychological disease. It is one of the most common
mental illnesses (Blais, et al., 2013). Depression was known since antiquity.
Hippocrates diagnosed it in fourth century BC (McNamara and Horan, 1986). After
World War II, depression was described as aggression turned inward (McNamara
Horan, 1986). Now there is Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, which is designed to
evaluate how severe is depression (Gibbons et al., 2012). Depression is known
worldwide. In European countries there are generally two ways of treatment: using
antidepressants or psychotherapy. The systems differ from country to country. In
United Kingdom general practitioner [GP] has a right to prescribe drugs, but in
Germany only psychiatrist or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All their comparisons are in favor of psychological model of treatment. They draw the
conclusion that the relationship of patient and therapist is important. The therapist
has to support the patient and focus on the context of the problem to provide the best
opportunity for symptom reduction (Ankatberg Falkenström, 2008). The treatment
should be delivered correctly for the positive outcome. Antidepressants do not affect
the cure of patient as much, as it is thought. Therefore the time spent with therapist
when the patient is taking antidepressants should be increased. According to
Ankatberg and Falkenström (2008), patients should feel better understood,
supported and engaged in treatment. But in the earliest research psychotherapy was
ranked the least effective at follow ups (McLean and Hakstian, 1979). Having
considered these findings, it would seem that psychotherapy should be investigated
more deeply. Also it is possible to treat depression from relational perspective.
Gibbons et al. (2012) conducted an experiment. There were patients only with pure
depression, without any other disorders. The treatment consisted in discussing five to
ten real life stories of the patient that included most important people in their life. The
therapist had to go in detail into each relationship to help the patient understand his
behavioural patterns that led to depression. The success rate was high. This
experiment has proved that dynamic, short term (12 weeks), and focused

Compaq Computer Corporation was a company founded in 1982 that developed,
sold, and supported computers and related products and services. Compaq produced
some of the first IBM PC compatible computers, and were the first company to

Both of these organization were at a crossroads with regards to their financial futures
and they were competing against the other for market penetration of the personal

All the cars have an engine which varies in size, the engines of the cars are count
in cylinders some cars have four, six, eight, or even twelve cylinders. The more
cylinders a car has, the more engine oil it requires. For example, a four cylindercar
will take four to six quarts of engine oil. Doing an oil change can be an easy task,
and I m going to show you how, all you need the right tools, adequate engine oil, and

First, take a trip to your local auto parts give them the information of your car
make, model, year, and engine size. Next, ask for engine oil and oil filter.
Sometimes they have discounts on engine oil that comes with a filter. They will tell
you how much oil and which oil filter your car requires, most of the time they have
the tools you need to do an oil change. Keep in mind that there are different types of
motor oil like full synthetic oil, higher mileage oil, and synthetic blend oil. Made
sure and ask questions of which oil is better for your car.

Foul Is Fair In Macbeth
Imagine. You see your son being dragged away. There s nothing you can do about
it. You reach out to him. You re told it s for the better. You remember. Remember
the times when you played with him, watched him grow up. Anger. Anger rising
that you can t stop. Angry at the government. Angry at unfair treatment. It s unfair.
It s foul. But that s not what they think, they think it s fair, that foul is fair. You
might be thinking, what is he going on about? The Stolen Generation? The
treatment of Aboriginal people? Land Rights? Fair is Foul, Foul is Fair . It s a
very tricky concept. We find it in literature, media, political speeches and in
everyday life. It is extensively explored in Shakespeare s Macbeth, where it means
that appearances are often deceptive, and that things are different than what they
appear to be. It points towards deception where appearance is not reality.
Shakespeare s Macbeth, encounters the witches and they plant the idea in his head
that he deserves to be king. This makes him vulnerable to his ambitious wife and
leads to his downfall as he becomes increasingly entangled in his own ambitious and
murderous deeds. Although, in real life, it is used as a paradox, a paradigm, a
chiasmus, to criticise a person s double standards and dual personalities. It is used
against politicians who present their dual personalities to the public, motivated purely
by self interest rather than acting for honourable or unselfish reasons. This is how the

Training Our Children for a Bright Future
Train up a child in the way that he should go and when
He is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22: 6 Introduction: The current news that we know especially in Japan
and Libya have caused great alarm to most of us. A lot of questions arise regarding
the kind of the world our earth is heading up to. Reading II Timothy 3:1 10 and
Matthew 24 makes us aware that this world, apart from God, is heading towards
turmoil! How then can we give hope and assure ourselves that our children will have
a brighter future? My purpose in bringing this message is to reinforce to you, as
parents, regarding your privilege and duty in molding the young lives of your
children; and for the children the determination to build up their character. ... Show

How should we train our children?
I. THE SYSTEM THAT WE SHOULD EMPLOY IN TRAINING OUR
CHILDREN. There must be a dedication. The word chanak translated train occurs 5
times in the Old Testament. It is found twice in Deut. 20:5; I Kings 8:63 where
Solomon dedicated, chanak the temple. In II Chronicles 7:5 Solomon dedicated the
temple and here in Proverbs 22:6. It is similar to our ground breaking ceremony.
There must be excitement and enthusiasm in doing the training of our children.
Application:
There must be discernment of the child s habits, interests, moods, inclinations and
attitudes. We must consider the child s individuality and inclinations when we give
our instructions to inexperienced children. These directives should be in keeping
with the degree of our child s moods. It is necessary to know and understand our
child s moods. There must be discipline, personal touch and connection. Don t
depend upon your yayas, parents. Brothers and even public and private teachers to
train your children. Don t delegate your duty to other people the privilege of training
your children
Personal Story:
Application: have a firm exhortation, faithful example and consistent emphasis in
your life. II. THE SUBJECTS THAT WE SHOULD EMPHASIZE IN THE
TRAINING OF OUR CHILDREN The first thing to train our children is the subject
of Reverence to God. Proverbs 1:7 says, The fear of the lord is the beginning of

Health Disparities Within Dekalb County
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to provide insight on health disparities seen
within DeKalb County. The residents of DeKalb County are diverse in race, ethnicity,
and income. Since the county is so diverse there are many health disparities seen
amongst its residents. Health disparities occur within a county when one group of a
population has noticeably better or worse health than another group within the same
population. These groups of people can differ by income, education, sex, race,
location, and even sexual orientation. This Paper will discuss the health disparities
that exist within DeKalb County, and explain why these disparities exist from a
historical, political and social aspect. Furthermore, this paper will give background
information on health outcomes from national, state, and local epidemiological
perspective in order to support the claims that disparities actually exist within this
county.
Background
The history of Georgia and its reflection on the state impacts the health and well being
of its communities today as it relates to cultures and institutions. The population of
African Americans is higher in Georgia than in the United States because of the
transatlantic slave trade, which brought an abundance of African Americans to the
state by force. The history of slavery still impacts African Americans today and
causes many health disparities that can be seen around the world not only in Georgia.
The obvious and tragic impact of health

This Paper Will Describe The Sociocultural And
Demographic
This paper will describe the sociocultural and demographic trends of grocery
retailing. The sociocultural and demographic trends are a part of the external
environmental analysis of a company or industry. One popular trend in the
sociocultural environment of grocery retailing is the trend of becoming healthier
and wanting grocery stores to offer organic and fresh foods rather than processed
foods. The demographic trend will focus on how grocery retailers market to different
age groups in the United States, as well as around the world. Grocery retailers around
the world can take into consideration these two trends and work towards a better
understanding of what their consumers want and desire. General Environmental...

One trend that seems to come to mind when talking about grocery retailing in a
sociocultural sense is the trend of offering fresh and organic items in supermarkets
as well as in local grocery stores. The everyday consumer is starting to realize that
being healthy is not entirely about working out, but it is also about what kinds of
food you put into your body. Therefore, people in today s day and time, will do
whatever it takes to make sure they are their healthiest, and that they look the best.
According to the article, Consumers Want Healthy Foods And They Will Pay More
for Them, about 88% of consumers are willing to pay the higher prices for the
fresh and organic foods that grocery stores supply (Gagliardi, 2015). This could be
because the health fad that has presented itself today is much stronger than those in
years past. According to an article that was published by the University of Kentucky
College of Agriculture, many grocers are finding that customers are changing their
preferences about their food, and are now wanting fresh foods and organic foods in
their local supermarkets. This paired with increasing transportation costs are causing
grocers to rethink the ideas and processes of large centralized distribution centers
(Ernst Woods, 2012). Demographic Forces A second general external environment is
the demographic force. This force includes different things such as age, race, gender,
and social class (Hill, Schilling, Jones,

The Financial Conditions Of Amazon Inc.
Amazon.com Inc. has been known as one of the fastest growing retailers around
the world. During 2013, the company has achieved US$74.4 billion of net sales
revenue. Compared to 2012, Amazon s net sales revenue has increased by 22%.
The company s sales revenue exceeds its competitor, e Bay, by US$58.4 billion or
364%. Besides sales revenue, Amazon is also the largest online retailer in terms of
market capitalization. Market capitalization is the total dollar market value of all of
a company s outstanding shares. As of the close of August 2014, the market
capitalization of Amazon is approximately US$156.6 billion, which surpasses e Bay
by US$87.6 billion or 127%. Although some online retailers have closed down
during financial crisis from 2008 to 2009, the company still survives with a positive
performance during the difficult times. Since Amazon becomes a publicly traded
company in 1997, the company has developed robust financial conditions.
Financial Conditions Analysis
Studying the financial statements of Amazon is essential in assessing the financial
conditions of the company. According to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
of United States, a full set of financial statements consists of a balance sheet, an
income statement, a statement of cash flow, and a statement of shareholders equity. A
balance sheet or statement of financial position accounts for a company s assets,
liabilities, and ownership equity at a given point in time. An income statement, also

Ethical System Reflection
Ethical System Reflection
Two ethical systems that I feel hold true to my beliefs and decision making
processes are relativism and ethics of care. When having to make difficult decisions
in life I often find myself applying key concepts from each ethical system to find a
resolution. Both systems reflect aspects of my personal beliefs and are beneficial
now and in the future as a justice professional. By applying these ethical systems, it
creates a road to success, positive interaction and strong relationships personally and
with the community to help function as a society.
Cultural Relativism
Both cultural relativism and ethical relativism are evident in my beliefs and decision

Ethical Relativism
Ethical relativism is defined as the morals, customs, and ethical principles that are
held within a culture (personal communication, October 16, 2017). For my
personal ethical belief system, I do not identify 100% with one specific religion,
culture or political party but rather multiple aspects for each into my own. For
example, I do not identify fully with neither the conservative or liberal party, but I
believe in certain plans of action like the development plans for the oil industry
from the conservative party, but I also the need to be environmentally conscious and
the plans that are being implemented by the liberal party. By combining these two
concepts I formed my own belief and opinion that we need the oil industry to
maintain a stable economy but in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
Some of my personal ethical principles that I use now and will use in the future in
the field of policing are to treat everyone with respect, honesty, and empathy. These
principles are important to me not only on the job, but in everyday life. In the
profession of policing, police officers expect to be respected in an authoritative
manner. I feel that it is also important to demonstrate respect back, as it creates

Modern Day Knowledge Of Scurvy And Treatment
European sailing ships first penetrated deep into the Indian and Pacific oceans in the
15th century with the intent of exploration, wealth, and war. The casualties were
appalling. Historical records document that the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama
lost two thirds of his crew to scurvy symptoms while traveling to India in 1499.
Circumnavigator Ferdinand Magellan suffered 80% casualties to Scurvy. Among
Magellan s fleet of five galleons, only one ship survived the globe trotting excursion.
During the glorious age of sail, scurvy had claimed more sailors lives than all the
others diseases and war combined. A stunning record of 2 million sailors perished
between the 16th and 19th century among the combined European seafaring... Show

Throughout the course of up to three months, a sailor s health degrades ominously.
Shortness of breath, bone, and muscle pain (myalgia) intensify. Finally obvious
objective symptoms manifest. Petechiae and jaundice appear on the sailor s skin.
Teeth dislodge, and injuries incurred from day to day ship maintenance no longer
heal. As crippling symptoms of edema, oliguria, and neuropathy worsen, fever and
convulsions finally seal the sailor s demise. When the British navy s Commodore
Anson attempted to raid Spanish shipping lanes in 1740 (during the epic Seven
Years War), scurvy proved to be more vicious than Spanish gunpowder. Tragically
yet predictably, only one ship out of the squadron of six returned from its mission.
The Chaplain of commodore s flagship described stricken sailors symptoms as: skin
black as ink, ulcers, difficult respiration, rictus of the limbs, teeth falling out and,
perhaps the most revolting of all, a strange plethora of gum tissue sprouting out of the
mouth, which immediately rotted and lent the victim s breath an abominable odor.
Modern day scurvy treatment and prevention is remarkably simple. Unlike most of
the animal kingdom, the human body cannot synthesize Ascorbic Acid, so this vital
coenzyme must be ingested. Schoolchildren are taught at an early age that oranges
provide ample amounts of Vitamin C. Lesser known but excellent sources of Vitamin

more knowledgeable about what should be expected of medical laboratory
professionals. Specifically, from this course what I learned on the issues like health
care ethics, patient s right and confidentiality, health care system in the USA, and
above all how to work with the people from different cultural background is
overwhelming. There are so many topics I will remember for the rest of my
professional life if I should pick just two, cultural competency and patients right and

As I will progress in this program it s my belief to be well equipped with the
knowledge how to analyze diagnostic testing of blood, hematology, immunology,
urine and microbiology tests, at the same time expecting my knowledge how to
use the biomedical instrument used in diagnostic testing will be improved. As of
right now my I believe this course prepared me mentally, psychologically and
emotionally as well, how to be a better medical professional by broadened my
understanding of self care in medical professional which thought me that under any
circumstances we must meet the physical and emotional need of our patients.
Despite gaining so many knowledge about health care system, ethics, and scope of
practice, as student, there is a long road to go to understand about how diagnostic
test analyzed in the laboratory. Overall this course changed my perspective about
the importance of patients rights and confidentiality, professionalism, medical
ethics, and self care. My knowledge is so limited that in regards to those topics
before taking this class, for instance, I used to think self care as looking after
yourself but after taking this class my understanding of self care was wrong. As a
medical professional, the priority should be always the physical,
Dupage County Watershed Analysis
Upon the signing of the Clean Water Act of 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson
said, The banks of a river may belong to one man or one industry or one state, but
the waters which flow between the banks should belong to all the people. This
statement is profound because it emphasizes the need of water is universal and
should be accessible by everyone. But in order to preserve water organizations must
be put in place that protect the water and make it accessible. In order to establish a
global change in water sustainability, it is essential preservation efforts start on the
local scale. The front runner in the local efforts to achieve sustainability is the
protection of watersheds. The DuPage County has six primary watershed planning

Basically, the premise is the model will simulate a hypothetical spill and model the
river and downstream, of the spill. The program is called the Contaminant Model
for Streams (CMS), it has been developed by the U.S Army Corps of Engineers and
has been used to model similar events on small streams. In this model I will be
evaluating the potential impact from a hypothetical spill from the development of an
agricultural chemical reductions and storage facility. When I ran the CMS program I
had to find hydraulic parameters which included stream width and depth. In order to
make sure my data was accurate, I used information from the USGS website that
asses the various levels of water in the East branch DuPage River from October
2015 November 2016. I wanted to create a model for the following: when the East
Branch DuPage River was at its lowest level (low model), when the river was at its
highest level perhaps due flooding (high model), and average water levels
throughout the year (mean model). To accomplish this task, as stated earlier I has
to find stream width and depth. In order to find these two I had to use two
equations: Discharge= (Area)(velocity) and Area= (Depth)(Width). Given by the
USGS website, the Average Discharge was equal to 51ft^3/s and the average velocity
was equal to 0.09 ft^3/s. I plugged into my known variables

With which store manager will conclude that response is mild agreement or small

This is not correct interpretation of data. As this argument relies on assumption that
psychological distance between agreement and strong agreement is same as in
agreement and unsure. Which is not correct as the responses can also be distorted on
psychological attitudes. To put it in simple terms Ordinal data cannot possess a mean

a). Gender Requires one of two responses male or female
From this question, we will get Nominal data. Because it has two possible values
male or female. We can count no. of males and females but both doesn t have their
actual values neither we can compare them to each other i.e. we can t say that male
has higher value than female. But we can say no. of males are less than or greater
than no. of females.
b. Fahrenheit thermometers
Collects values representing temperatures in Fahrenheit
Collected values representing temperatures in Fahrenheit(F) is an Interval Data. As in
the terms of temperature there is fixed interval. As difference between 1F and 3F is
same as in 22F and 24F. However, we cannot say that 5F is half than 10F because
there is no absolute zero in temperature. Temperature can increase to infinity as well
as decrease to infinity in Fahrenheit.
c. Kelvin thermometers Collects values representing temperatures in Kelvin
Collected values representing temperature in kelvin(k) is a Ratio Data. Because in
terms of kelvin temperature there is fixed intervals and as well as absolute zero. As
there is absolute zero in kelvin temperature we can say that 5 degrees is half hot as
compared to 10 degrees.
d. The number of items a customer buys
In whole numbers
It is also a ratio Data because there can be a customer buying no item. So, there can
be an absolute zero. Moreover, we can also say that 5 items are half of 10
The Massive Financial Loss Due to the Dot-Com Bubble
Crash...
In the beginning, the Internet was created by the military in 1958 for their own
personal purposes. They had no idea how many people would be interested in the
Internet, nor how much the Internet could grow into what it is today. The Internet
as we know it today did not come about until 1995. Now, it is said that
approximately one third of the world s population uses the Internet, and it is still
growing. The dot com bubble spanned from 1995 to 2000 and involved the entire
world. The Internet caused an unprecedented growth and speed in business because
of how accessible it was to everyone. Many people wanted to become involved
because they saw how fast it was growing. One company that made it possible for so
many participants to invest was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The collapse has been recorded as the single greatest loss in the history of the
Internet stock market, with a groundbreaking two thirds deficit. Surprisingly, the
cause of the crash was because of the companies themselves. Companies began to
report major losses in revenue because of the Get Big Fast mentality. This caused
doubt to set in, and people quickly stopped investing. Market value dropped by five
trillion dollars, and most companies had to close shop. Andrew Beattie stated that
from March 11th, 2000 to October 9th, 2002 the NASDAQ loss compiled to a
whopping 78% of value. Soon after the initial fall of NASDAQ came September
11th. People had already lost a lot of their faith in the industry, and the national
crisis of 9/11 only added to the crash. People were focused on the catastrophe of 9
/11, and it proved to be the last nail in the coffin for the stock market. People were no
longer investing.
Many argue that the dotcom boom and bust was a case of too much too fast.
Companies that couldn t decide on their corporate creed were given millions of
dollars and told to grow to Microsoft size by tomorrow Andrew Beattie.
Aspects of growth
While many were angry about the dot com bust, others were grateful. While the
crash left many people out of jobs and in debt, the boom proved to be overall
helpful. Because of the speed at which technology was progressing it can be argued
that the loss was worth the gains.
Pedagogical Leadership Reflection
Background
On my previous professional experience, the childcare centre where I did my
practicum had a very clear centre management structure. The centre director who had
the role of the leader and manager of the centre, was responsible for the operation of
the service. The teacher who had a bachelor degree of early childhood education was
designated as the educational leader. She had a role in supporting and leading other
early childhood teachers in terms of pedagogy and programming in the service.
Other early childhood teachers either hold a Certificate III in Children s Services or
Diploma in Children s Services. Although these teachers seemed to be familiar with
the released documents of early childhood education such as the Early Years Learning
Framework (EYLF) (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace
Relations [DEEWR], 2009), they seemed not to consider themselves in leadership
roles and their understanding of pedagogical leadership tended to be less
sophisticated. Consequently, they were less engaged in learning to be the curriculum
decision makers and reconstruct the knowledge in their pedagogical practices, which
could significantly influence the quality of their teaching, children s learning and the
centre s operation.
During that time, the educational leader was on a maternity leave. Without the lead
from the educational leader, other educators seemed to face more challenges in their
pedagogical practices as they were uncertain about the decisions they

The Perception Of The Spatial Layout Of An Environment
This research shows that the perception of the spatial layout of an environment is
influenced by the energetic resources available for movement within it. The findings
are consistent with the view that spatial perceptions are influenced by bio energetic
factors. Researchers measured individual differences in factors related to bio
energetic state, such as fatigue, sleep quality, fitness, mood, and stress. Previous
research has shown that hills appear steeper to those who are fatigued restricted, due
to a lack of physical fitness, age (EX: the elderly) or those who are in declining
health. The prevailing interpretation of this research is that individual observer s

The two experiments reported in this paper pursued three aims: first, by manipulating
metabolic energy they directly tested whether each individual s energetic state was
influenced by their spatial perception. Second, the studies utilized manipulations of
metabolic energy in an unnoticeable manner so that participants were completely
unaware whether they were in a high energy or low energy condition. If differences
in perception were to be obtained, it would further support the proposition that these
effects, and similar effects reported in earlier research, was not the result of
experimental demand characteristics. Third, assessing individual bio energetic
differences permitted an assessment of bio energetics state on perceived slant,
independently of any experimental manipulations. In both experiments blood glucose
levels were varied, with the expectation that high blood glucose would make hills
appear less steep. Two lines of research have investigated the role of blood glucose in
the following contexts: first, glucose has distinct physiological effects on the body,
and second, glucose levels can influence cognitive functioning. The independent
variable in this experiment was the tilt of the hill and the dependent variable was the
blood glucose levels. The dependent variable was measured/manipulated by the
experimenters altering the amount of sugar being placed into the participant s blood
stream as well as placing heavy objects in their backpacks. The
Traveling throguh the Dark by William Stafford
Traveling through the Dark by William Stafford is essentially a short poem that was
written based on personal experience. The poem starts out with an unnamed,
anonymous character which is also the narrator of the poem as he tells of a haunting
but sad memory in first person. The story begins by telling of how a cautious
traveler in the night comes across a dying deerbut with an unborn child waiting to be
born. What the traveler chooses to do with the deer and her child is a conflict that
will decide their fate. The poem is a sentimental poem that is both a memory from
the past and a lesson of morals by Stafford that draws the reader in and makes them
ponder; what would I do if I were in this situation? Being written in first person,
Stafford puts the reader into the traveler s position and by this, the reader can
experience what is happening as if it were them in the situation.
The short poem begins with a traveler driving along a narrow road by the Wilson
River in Oregon, United States. He stumbles upon a dead doe on the road and with

realises that the doe is pregnant with an unborn child and this is where the traveler

Comparing The Medicine Bag And Apache Girl s Rite Of
Passage
How does Apache girls become women and Lakota boys become men? In The
Medicine Bag and Apache Girl s Rite of Passage there are many similarities and
differences. Also advantages and disadvantages to text and video. These articles will
show how boys become men in the Lakota tribe and how girls become women in the
Apachetribe.
Between the two stories The medicine Bag and Apache Girl s Rite of Passage there
are plenty of similarities. The fact both Martin from The Medicine Bag and Dechina
from Apache Girl s Rite of Passage get medicine bags in the story is a similarity.
Another similarity is that both Martin and Dechina become more mature. This is
said because in Apache Girl s Rite of Passage the narrator say, It s a grueling ordeal
to prepare girls for the trials of womanhood. and in The medicine Bag it shows how
Martin becomes a man getting the medicine bag from his grandfather because
receiving the medicine bag means he has to carry on an important tradition that was
in his family for generations.
Although there s many similarities, there s just as many differences to the stories
too. In the stories it explains both Martin and Dechina get medicine bags, but they
have different things in them. In Martin s medicine he got the broken shell of iron
kettle, a pebble from the butte, and a pierce of the sacred sage. , but in Dechina s
medicine bag there s only pollen symbolizing fertility. Martin not having as much
physical pain as Dechina is a difference in
Mad Cow Disease Essay examples
Mad Cow Disease
Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), better know as Mad cow disease is a
relatively new disease. Most sources state that BSE first showed up in Great
Britain in 1986 [Dealler p.5] but some say it popped up in 1985 [Greger p.1].
However the official notification was not until 21 June, 1988 [Dealler stats.
p.1]. Spongiform encephalopathies are invariable fatal neurodegenerative diseases
and there is no treatment nor is there a cure for this disease [Greger
p.1]. The recent scare of BSE has arisen because of the contraction of
Creutzfeldt Jakob disease (CJD: see Appendix B) in humans from eating beef
products. Although there are many forms of Spongiform encephalopathies that affect

BSE, is a slowly progressing degenerative disease affecting the central nervous
system of cattle. BSE is the same as most of the other spongiform
encephalopathies, they evoke no immune response and consequently slowly
accumulate for an incubation period up to 30 years. You cannot detect them,
purify then, nor can you isolate them [Greger p.2]. One of the main issues that
affect most farmers is how do they know if a cow has BSE. Cattle affected by BSE
develop a progressive degeneration of the nervous system. Affected animals may
display changes in temperament, such as nervousness or aggression, abnormal
posture; incoordination and difficulty in rising, decreased milk production, or loss
of body condition despite continued appetite [Kent p.10]. However it has been
noted the signs in American cows is much different. They instead stagger to their
death like downer cows do. quot;A downer cow quot; is referring to the industry term
which describes cows who fall down and are too sick to get up [Greger p.4].
There is no treatment so all affected cattle die. The incubation period ranges from
two to eight years [Hodgson p.2]. Following the onset of clinical signs, the animal
s condition deteriorates until it dies or is destroyed. This usually takes from two
weeks to six months. Most cases in Great Britain have occurred in dairy cows
between three and five years of age [Dealler Bio p.7].

Ford Motor Company s Movement

world of business; its overall objectives are clear and concise. However, the
implementation, development, and execution strategy are complicated, consisting of
many layers, with the proper performance one can only hope the end result is

Our recommended strategy will allow for us to sell goods on a global market with
little to none local adjustments to the end product. Therefore, our products will be
produced in full prior to embarkation, then to key locations for distribution; all
production will take place in one central location. A global strategy in the auto
industry drives markets in a uniform fashion; the production of automobiles from
region to region is effectively allowing managers to achieve optimal effectiveness
and profitable gains within a global market. One of many key objectives is to see
the world as one large diverse market; furthermore, our goals are to implement an
extreme cost reduction in production while champing a robust and solid design. 3D
printing technology has only been recently available to us with the onset of new
development skills and production methods. This sharp reduction in cost of
production will allow Ford Motor Company to sell its vehicles at a lower cost than
can be obtained in any other parts of the world.
In order for our implementation to expand into a global market our management will
be conditioned to achieve cost leadership . Our leadership in cost efficiency will cut
an expensive value chain design down to a lean operative of bare essentials. The
precise distribution of goods from inside the country of origin will yield low
Cosmos Summary
Cosmos Carl Sagan was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from
the University of Chicago and studied planets and other elements of space. He was
named director of Cornell s Laboratory for Planetary Studies in 1968, and worked
with NASA with choosing where the Viking probes would touch down on Mars. He
wrote Cosmos in 1980 as a way of explaining his ideas to the world and furthering
the points made in his television series, also called Cosmos. Cosmos begins out
with the Cosmos themselves, and how they came to be discovered by humans
living on Earth. Sagan explains how he once worked at a genetics lab, breeding
fruit flies to see how their traits were passed down. He relates it to the evolution of
DNA, and how evolution might very well be unique to Earth. When he talks about
the coevolution of plants and animals, he explains how oxygen made from plants
makes organic molecules fall to pieces He says, Despite our fondness for it, it is
fundamentally a poison for unprotected organic matter (Sagan 29). I thought this
was interesting because oxygen is essential for every living thing on Earth. It s
what gives us life, but yet at the same time it is slowly killing us. Next up, Sagan
talks about astrology vs. astronomy. Personally, I was not sure that there was a
difference between the two before reading this book. I had always thought that
astrology was a subgroup of astronomy. But, I now understand the difference. Sagan
gives a great

One must carefully balance the need for practical advice with the demand for theoretical reflection. It's essential to provide concrete strategies for brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and revising, while also delving into the underlying principles of effective communication, critical thinking, and scholarly discourse. Moreover, there's a delicate line to tread between being instructive and being overly prescriptive. While offering guidance on structure, style, and argumentation, one must avoid imposing rigid rules that stifle creativity and individual expression. It's about fostering a sense of autonomy and empowerment in the writer, encouraging them to find their voice and develop their unique approach to the craft. Furthermore, tackling the topic of essay writing necessitates grappling with the inherent subjectivity involved. What works for one writer may not work for another, and what constitutes a successful essay can vary widely depending on context, audience, and purpose. Navigating this terrain requires a nuanced understanding of rhetorical strategies, audience analysis, and genre conventions. In essence, writing an essay on "Essay Writing Paper" involves a recursive process of reflection, analysis, and synthesis. It demands both a deep understanding of the principles and practices of academic writing and a willingness to engage critically with those principles and practices. It's a task that requires patience, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. In this lab we were to see how properties of individual substances compare with properties of mixed substances. There were three research definitions that we needed to know. The first was the definition of a mixture, which is a combination of two or more substances that are not combined chemically but physically. Secondly, the definition of a homogeneous mixture. Homogeneous mixtures are mixtures in which the substance is uniform in structure or composition throughout. Lastly, the definition of heterogeneous mixtures. This is when a solution consists of dissimilar parts of elements or when you can see the individual elements. Our hypothesis was if the properties of individual substances compare with properties of mixed substances and we mix water with cornstarch, then it will create a substance that s properties switch between a solid and liquid that is a homogeneous mixture. The objective of the Investigating Mixtures Lab was to observe that not all liquids behave the same way when mixed with other liquids. If droplets of soap were added to the mixture of water and oil, the water would be on the bottom because it is the densest liquid. Its stagnant nature furnishes a reflection of the full length of the radiant sky, down to the terrain s low banking hills and grassy overgrowths within the fields. • 8. Tennessee Williams Research Paper Tennessee Williams is named a great American playwright for a number of valid reasons. His unique gifts bring to life plays that captivate the audience whether they are reading or watching the story. A distinguishing feature of his writing is his use of parenthetical italics. Tennessee Williams uses parenthetical italics to create tangible characters in A Streetcar Named Desire, to convey themes of truth and illusion in The Glass Menagerie, and to create a more immersive experience for his audience. Tennessee Williamsuses parenthetical italics to build realistic characters that seem free to declare their contradictory selves rather than being harnessed by the play s storytelling needs, (Miller xi). On top of using costuming and color in A Streetcar Named Desire and the screen device in The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee has other unconventional ways of conveying character and theme, all with one valid aim, and that is a close approach to truth, (Menagerie xix). American playwriting is a new set piece on the world s stage and is in its nature more experimental and modern. A much older piece is the European playwriting with William Shakespeare as its mascot. Williams s contribution to American playwriting is the inclusion of a lot of parenthetical italics, which are almost nonexistent in Shakespeare s work. Shakespeare s lyricism instead focused on dialogue, leaving the stage directions, costuming, and set design more ambiguous. Williams does not infuse his plays with poetry and instead writes with language flowing from the soul, that overall enhances the realness of his character s dialogue and calls for symbolism in technical and theatrical devices to create a meaningful story (Miller xi). The italics are a way for Williams to translate the specific vision of the story he has in his mind to paper and the stage. Williams dubs his experimental techniques as part of his plastic theater that must replace old theater to resume

  • 11. The, Genetic And Epigenetic Mutations Cancer, one of the most common diseases in the world, is a result of genetic and epigenetic mutations. Where genetics was at first used to explain phenotypes and disease, genetics alone could not explain the sheer amount of phenotypic diversity in a population nor could it explain phenomenon such as how, monozygotic twins or cloned animals [could] have different phenotypes and different susceptibilities to a disease. Thus entered the field of epigenetics. Epigenetics is, the study of heritable changes in geneexpression that occur independent of changes in the primary DNA sequence. Therefore, epigenetics has its own, independent mechanisms to affect the genotypes and phenotypes of individuals. Although technically independent of one another, like genetics, epigenetics can be greatly influenced and altered by external factors such as ones environment. For example, one study looked at the importance of nutrition in early life and its effects on the epigenome. Using families involved in the Dutch Hunger Winter and the Great Leap Forward in China, the study found that children exposed to famine in utero had DNA methylation changes in genes associated with birth weight and low density lipoprotein. When followed up, years later, with a study of nutritional deprivation in mice, data showed that epigenetic changes not only affected the babies in utero, but also affected the next generation of mice. A Brief History of Epigenetics In 1930, Hermann J. Muller did one of the

There has been many speculation about whether or not the United States should abolish the penny from being minted any longer. Although the penny has been a part of the American culture since 1787, it has such a small value, it will always be a part of American history. So as the years go on we should realize that the penny is everything to the United States. The penny should not be eliminated from the money system due to the fact that it is a part of the American culture and has earned its respect over the years. In America, there is still a debate if the penny should be eliminated. If it was to be eliminated it would still be used, but in a minimal way. In Canada, the Canadian penny was eliminated due to cost, time, and the country believed it was a waste of money, inflation reduced its purchasing power by 95% since it was first minted domestically in 1908: back then the cent could buy goods of the cost of $0.20, today in other words. (The Economist). Once a small coin can no longer be used to buy individual items at that price, but it is only used to make change, it becomes more trouble than it is worth. Canadian pennies cost 1.6 Canadian cents to manufacture, and the government expected to save $11 million a year by eliminating them (The Economist). But that sum equivalent to 0.0006% of GDP is small change. Canadians feel that eliminating pennies is that their feeble purchasing power means dealing with coins,

Jordyn Cooper SILC 4315.06 Andrepoint Article Review Cultural responsiveness and school wide positive behavior support although total opposites in theoretical foundations, when blended together in the school system can have a positive outcome for student s cultural equity. With the increasing clash of cultures between teachers and students, teachers today must practice being sociocultural conscious while, being culturally responsive to their students needs and behavior in order to be an effective teacher. These topics are important because although the demographics of the student population are quickly changing and are more diverse than ever, the demographics of the teacher workforce are staying predominately white. This reason is why I chose the articles, Toward a Conceptual Integration of Cultural Responsiveness and Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support, as well as, A Culturally Responsive Counter narrative of effective teaching. The student population is more diverse than ever before with non white enrollment up to 45% in 2008 from 32% in 1988 (Aud, Hussar, Planty, Snyder, Bianco, Fox, Drake, 2010). This article claims that this is due to the petrolatum that Pampers includes in their diapers for its moisturizing benefits. The article goes on to explain that this petrolatum could contain PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) which are carcinogenic to humans. Petrolatum is an off white, odorless, tasteless substance. It is often used in Vaseline, Mineral Wax and Paraffin Jelly for its moisturizing effects. It is classified as slightly hazardous when placed in direct contact with the eyes or ingested. These both seem to pose unlikely risks for your child, as the petrolatum is present inside the diaper, not just loosely available for ingestion or eye contact. The therapist has to support the patient and focus on the context of the problem to provide the best opportunity for symptom reduction (Ankatberg Falkenström, 2008). The treatment should be delivered correctly for the positive outcome. Antidepressants do not affect the cure of patient as much, as it is thought. It is extensively explored in Shakespeare s Macbeth, where it means that appearances are often deceptive, and that things are different than what they appear to be. It points towards deception where appearance is not reality. Shakespeare s Macbeth, encounters the witches and they plant the idea in his head that he deserves to be king. This makes him vulnerable to his ambitious wife and leads to his downfall as he becomes increasingly entangled in his own ambitious and murderous deeds. Although, in real life, it is used as a paradox, a paradigm, a chiasmus, to criticise a person s double standards and dual personalities. It is used against politicians who present their dual personalities to the public, motivated purely by self interest rather than acting for honourable or unselfish reasons. This is how the British and

Proverbs 22: 6 Introduction: The current news that we know especially in Japan and Libya have caused great alarm to most of us. A lot of questions arise regarding the kind of the world our earth is heading up to. Reading II Timothy 3:1 10 and Matthew 24 makes us aware that this world, apart from God, is heading towards turmoil! How then can we give hope and assure ourselves that our children will have a brighter future? The word chanak translated train occurs 5 times in the Old Testament. It is found twice in Deut. 20:5; I Kings 8:63 where Solomon dedicated, chanak the temple. In II Chronicles 7:5 Solomon dedicated the temple and here in Proverbs 22:6. It is similar to our ground breaking ceremony. There must be excitement and enthusiasm in doing the training of our children. Application: There must be discernment of the child s habits, interests, moods, inclinations and attitudes. We must consider the child s individuality and inclinations when we give our instructions to inexperienced children. These directives should be in keeping with the degree of our child s moods. It is necessary to know and understand our child s moods. There must be discipline, personal touch and connection. Don t depend upon your yayas, parents. The sociocultural and demographic trends are a part of the external environmental analysis of a company or industry. One popular trend in the sociocultural environment of grocery retailing is the trend of becoming healthier and wanting grocery stores to offer organic and fresh foods rather than processed foods. The demographic trend will focus on how grocery retailers market to different age groups in the United States, as well as around the world. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One trend that seems to come to mind when talking about grocery retailing in a sociocultural sense is the trend of offering fresh and organic items in supermarkets as well as in local grocery stores. The everyday consumer is starting to realize that being healthy is not entirely about working out, but it is also about what kinds of food you put into your body. Therefore, people in today s day and time, will do whatever it takes to make sure they are their healthiest, and that they look the best. According to the article, Consumers Want Healthy Foods And They Will Pay More for Them, about 88% of consumers are willing to pay the higher prices for the fresh and organic foods that grocery stores supply (Gagliardi, 2015). This could be because the health fad that has presented itself today is much stronger than those in years past. According to an article that was published by the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, many grocers are finding that customers are changing their preferences about their food, and are now wanting fresh foods and organic foods in their local supermarkets. This paired with increasing transportation costs are causing grocers to rethink the ideas and processes of large centralized distribution centers (Ernst Woods, 2012). Demographic Forces A second general external environment is the demographic force. This force includes different things such as age, race, gender, and social class (Hill, Schilling, Jones,

The casualties were appalling. Historical records document that the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama lost two thirds of his crew to scurvy symptoms while traveling to India in 1499. Circumnavigator Ferdinand Magellan suffered 80% casualties to Scurvy. Among Magellan s fleet of five galleons, only one ship survived the globe trotting excursion. Throughout the course of up to three months, a sailor s health degrades ominously. Shortness of breath, bone, and muscle pain (myalgia) intensify. Finally obvious objective symptoms manifest. Petechiae and jaundice appear on the sailor s skin. Teeth dislodge, and injuries incurred from day to day ship maintenance no longer heal. As crippling symptoms of edema, oliguria, and neuropathy worsen, fever and convulsions finally seal the sailor s demise. When the British navy s Commodore Anson attempted to raid Spanish shipping lanes in 1740 (during the epic Seven Years War), scurvy proved to be more vicious than Spanish gunpowder. Tragically yet predictably, only one ship out of the squadron of six returned from its mission. The Chaplain of commodore s flagship described stricken sailors symptoms as: skin black as ink, ulcers, difficult respiration, rictus of the limbs, teeth falling out and, perhaps the most revolting of all, a strange plethora of gum tissue sprouting out of the mouth, which immediately rotted and lent the victim s breath an abominable odor. Modern day scurvy treatment and prevention is remarkably simple. Unlike most of the animal kingdom, the human body cannot synthesize Ascorbic Acid, so this vital coenzyme must be ingested. Schoolchildren are taught at an early age that oranges provide ample amounts of Vitamin C. Lesser known but excellent sources of Vitamin C also

Johnson said, The banks of a river may belong to one man or one industry or one state, but the waters which flow between the banks should belong to all the people. This statement is profound because it emphasizes the need of water is universal and should be accessible by everyone. But in order to preserve water organizations must be put in place that protect the water and make it accessible. In order to establish a global change in water sustainability, it is essential preservation efforts start on the local scale. The front runner in the local efforts to achieve sustainability is the protection of watersheds. The DuPage County has six primary watershed planning areas:... In this model I will be evaluating the potential impact from a hypothetical spill from the development of an agricultural chemical reductions and storage facility. In order to make sure my data was accurate, I used information from the USGS website that asses the various levels of water in the East branch DuPage River from October 2015 November 2016. I wanted to create a model for the following: when the East Branch DuPage River was at its lowest level (low model), when the river was at its highest level perhaps due flooding (high model), and average water levels throughout the year (mean model). To accomplish this task, as stated earlier I has to find stream width and depth. In order to find these two I had to use two equations: Discharge= (Area)(velocity) and Area= (Depth)(Width). Given by the USGS website, the Average Discharge was equal to 51ft^3/s and the average velocity was equal to 0.09 ft^3/s. I plugged into my known variables

This caused doubt to set in, and people quickly stopped investing. Market value dropped by five trillion dollars, and most companies had to close shop. Andrew Beattie stated that from March 11th, 2000 to October 9th, 2002 the NASDAQ loss compiled to a whopping 78% of value. Soon after the initial fall of NASDAQ came September 11th. People had already lost a lot of their faith in the industry, and the national crisis of 9/11 only added to the crash. People were focused on the catastrophe of 9 /11, and it proved to be the last nail in the coffin for the stock market. People were no longer investing. Many argue that the dotcom boom and bust was a case of too much too fast. Companies that couldn t decide on their corporate creed were given millions of dollars and told to grow to Microsoft size by tomorrow Andrew Beattie. Although these teachers seemed to be familiar with the released documents of early childhood education such as the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations [DEEWR], 2009), they seemed not to consider themselves in leadership roles and their understanding of pedagogical leadership tended to be less sophisticated. Consequently, they were less engaged in learning to be the curriculum decision makers and reconstruct the knowledge in their pedagogical practices, which could significantly influence the quality of their teaching, children s learning and the centre s operation. If differences in perception were to be obtained, it would further support the proposition that these effects, and similar effects reported in earlier research, was not the result of experimental demand characteristics. The poem starts out with an unnamed, anonymous character which is also the narrator of the poem as he tells of a haunting but sad memory in first person. The story begins by telling of how a cautious traveler in the night comes across a dying deerbut with an unborn child waiting to be born. What the traveler chooses to do with the deer and her child is a conflict that will decide their fate. The poem is a sentimental poem that is both a memory from the past and a lesson of morals by Stafford that draws the reader in and makes them ponder; what would I do if I were in this situation? Being written in first person, Stafford puts the reader into the traveler s position and by this, the reader can experience what is happening as if it were them in the situation. The short poem begins with a traveler driving along a narrow road by the Wilson River in Oregon, United States. He stumbles upon a dead doe on the road and with good intentions, tries to move it out of the way for safe travel of future drivers. He realises that the doe is pregnant with an unborn child and this is where the traveler comes into internal conflict with himself. He hesitates with the choices of helping other drivers by tossing the doe with an unborn fawn into the water or saving it as if he knew how to. In the end, the traveler does not save the doe and tosses it into the river.

There is no treatment so all affected cattle die. The incubation period ranges from two to eight years [Hodgson p.2]. Following the onset of clinical signs, the animal s condition deteriorates until it dies or is destroyed. This usually takes from two weeks to six months. Most cases in Great Britain have occurred in dairy cows between three and five years of age [Dealler Bio p.7].

He was named director of Cornell s Laboratory for Planetary Studies in 1968, and worked with NASA with choosing where the Viking probes would touch down on Mars. He wrote Cosmos in 1980 as a way of explaining his ideas to the world and furthering the points made in his television series, also called Cosmos. Cosmos begins out with the Cosmos themselves, and how they came to be discovered by humans living on Earth. Sagan explains how he once worked at a genetics lab, breeding fruit flies to see how their traits were passed down. He relates it to the evolution of DNA, and how evolution might very well be unique to Earth. When he talks about the coevolution of plants and animals, he explains how oxygen made from plants makes organic molecules fall to pieces He says, Despite our fondness for it, it is fundamentally a poison for unprotected organic matter (Sagan 29). I thought this was interesting because oxygen is essential for every living thing on Earth. It s what gives us life, but yet at the same time it is slowly killing us. Next up, Sagan talks about astrology vs. astronomy. Personally, I was not sure that there was a difference between the two before reading this book.
