Assimilation During Immigrants
mmigration is a subject that everyone is talking about. Specifically, assimilation during
immigration. Should people keep their culture or assimilate into society? In all fairness to both
sides of this argument, assimilation is necessary for everyday life to run smoothly for all americans,
not just the immigrants. This is because immigrants will usually not adhere to our food, religion, or
language at first. They then accept that adapting is the only way to survive. The reasoning behind
assimilation is fairly simple. While one could attempt to blend their cultureand ours, if only given
the option of one, there is no question. Hardly anyone can function in a society without adapting to
their environment, which boils down to the very most basic

Fly Away Peter
The novel Fly Away Peter expresses specific attitudes and values by encouraging the reader to
identify with the central character, Jim Saddler. David Malouf, the author, attempts to expose the
brutality of war and encourages readers to realise that one can be living a very sheltered lifestyle
oblivious of the cruelty and negative side of life. In this text dealing with the experiences of Jim
during World War Iand events leading up to his signing up, the author uses biblical allusions,
evocative and sensuous imagery, contrast of settings, metaphors and other characters to aid readers
to establish an identity for the protagonist. It is through his central character that he communicates
his disparaging perspective on war and points out... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jim s childish enjoyment of the episode when he and Clancy run to the engine for hot water, and
his naГЇve admiration for the Pharaoh like grandeur of the war, are reminders of how little he
knows. However the audience shares in Jim s growing horror as we discover what it s really like
when he gets into the trenches. Clancy whom by now the reader has associated with as a lovable
larrikin is blasted out of existence , Eric s legs are torn off and Bob coughs up his lungs. These
ghastly images as witnesses by Jim causes the reader to react in an anti war way. Hence through
contrast of settings Malouf shows his condescending attitude towards war.
Malouf uses poignant metaphors which relate to the central character and delivers his message of
life s meaning even after death. The concluding scene where Imogen is on the beach reflecting
upon Jim s unnecessarily shortened life, the wave is a metaphor for Jim s life. Growing bigger
and higher until ultimately crashing down symbolic of the rising and falling of Jim s life. Like a
wave Jim reached his peak which was death. Also when Jim, running towards the enemy lines, sees
himself a distant slow moving figure withinВ… the long view of all their lives , he is
understanding that life is something that moves relentlessly towards death. here Malouf seeks to
say that we are not divine creatures but instead mortal. We must accept that ultimate change which
is the subject

The Death Of Tennessee V Garner
Sidney Hildebrandt
Tennessee V Garner
On the night of October 3rd, 1974 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Edward Garner was shot by
Officer Hymon in an attempt to stop him from escaping a crime scene. Garner died on the
operating table due to the gunshot wound on the back of his head. His crime was burglary and
he was found with a mere ten dollars and a purse. The case was argued on October 30th, 1984
and a decision was made on March 27th, 1985. The father of Edward Garner believed his son s
constitutional rights were violated by the defendants Officer Hymon, the Police Department, and the
Mayor of the city of Memphis. With a 6 3 decision, the Justices decided that Officer Hymon was
acting justly under the fourth amendment that states that deadly force is constitutional as long as it
is reasonable . I believe Officer Hymon was acting in good faith and simply fulfilling his duty to
protect the public and stop criminals from escaping punishment.
Edward Eugene Garner life ended in his eighth grade year at the young age of 15.He stood at five
feet four inches tall and weighed around one hundred pounds.1 The father of Edward, Cleamtee
Garner, brought the case into action by claiming that his son s fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and
fourteenth amendments were violated.2 Officer Elton Hymon, along with Leslie Wright received a
prowler inside call . Once on the scene, the two officers were informed that someone was breaking
into the house next door.Officer Hymon went to investigate

Apathy In American Psycho
I believe that everyone in my generation should watch the controversial film American Psycho.
This movie is essentially a social commentary on how our society is dying. It provides some
examples of the symptoms of a dying society we see in our world today, like apathy, moral decay,
and affluenza. American Psycho displays apathy in the last scene of the movie. The main character,
Patrick Bateman, had just committed mass murder the night before and confessed it to his lawyer.
His lawyer, fearing the public backlash against Patrick, essentially told him to act as if nothing
happened. Patrick was never punished for his heinous crime because no one cared enough to
prosecute him. In addition, when Patrick returned to the apartment where he murdered his friend
several days before, he found a real estate company there that was cleaning up the place and
attempting to sell the apartment. When he inspected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One scene that displays this features Patrick and his friends comparing business cards. Patrick s
card is not the best, so he has a mental breakdown. In another scene, he kills his friend because
his friend likes a different restaurant than Patrick does. Perhaps the most glaring example,
however, is the scene where he brutally stabs a homeless man to death: first, he felt bad for the
homeless and said he would help the him, but then when Patrick saw that the homeless man was
absolutely pathetic by Patrick s standards , Patrick proceeded to take out a knife and stab the
homeless man to death. American Psycho is a masterfully crafted social commentary relevant
today. It shows the signs of a defective and dying society, which include apathy, moral decay, and
affluenza. This is relevant today because these three qualities are exactly what we see today in
society. American Psycho can be interpreted as a call to action, to maintain high moral standards
and to not let our wealth blind us to the needs of other

Some of the highest amounts of rainfall in years was brought by a storm in Azusa, California. The
storm had brought up to eight inches on some mountains. That is not even close to enough of the
amount of rainfall California would need to pull out of this drought they have been in for years.
Even though the storm was strong and remained that way for a little longer than the weekend, the
forecasters said that a storm like this would need to be more frequent for Californiato get out of the
drought.
On February 28th, heavy showers hit California impacting the mountainsides that were scarred

The county fire crew were working to protect the eight houses that were in danger of severe
flooding due to a levee failing in San Bernardino County. Throughout California, there were many
traffic accidents on the slick and flooded roads. One involved a death of the driver of a big rig that
fell from the freeway overpass just east of Los Angeles. Also, there were at least 32,000 homes
with power outages.
For the people in California that did not have to worry about the mudslides, the storm was good
news. Although, the storms swept through California back to back causing the cancelation of
airplane flights, creating threatening floods, and triggering landslides. In some areas, six inches of
rain was expected after the second storm went through. Still not enough to break California out of

Thomas Edison And The Invention Of Thomas Edison
This is Thomas Edison. Thomas Edison is a famous inventor who invented lots of things that we
use today. He was born a very long time ago in the United States of America.
Thomas was a very naughty child. He used to always get into trouble for misbehaving such as the
time when he set his father s barn on fire. He was only six years old when this incident took place.
Thomas only started school at the age of seven. He was unable to go to school at an early age
because he was quite sick and his mom had to take care of him at home.
At school Thomas could not concentrate and used to constantly disturb the children and the teacher.
He became quite disruptive in class and did not learn anything. His teacher then nicknamed him
Addled . Addled means someone who is unable to think clearly.
Thomas did not have a very good teacher at school. His teacher was not willing to answer his
questions and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The light bulb had already been invented before but Thomas Edison improved and perfected the
light bulb. The new light bulb that Thomas invented lasted for longer periods of time .Thomas
thereafter went on to invent an electrical power system, so that people would have electricity and
could use the light bulbs at home.
It was Thomas Edison who was also responsible for the invention of Motion pictures . Thomas
created equipment that would record and playback images so that they could be watched later on.
It is because of Thomas Edison that we are now able to watch movies.
Before Thomas Edison died he said The trouble with other inventors is that they try a few things
then they quit. I never quit until I get what I want
We should learn from this quote that no matter how hard things may seem, we must not give up,
we must try and keep trying until we succeed. Thomas Edison never gave up and because of that he

Deforestation Effects On The Rainforest
Deforestation Effects
The rainforest is one of Earth s most valuable resources and at the destruction rate, people need
to stop ignoring this problem. Around the world, Tropical Rainforests are being destroyed at a
rate of 80 to 90 acres each minute. (Thompson, Heather) The rainforest is home of many living
creatures and provide the world with many supplies such as, food, clean water, and housing, but
soon the population of those living creatures will decrease and those supplies will be gone. People
need to end deforestation globally because of the main effects it has on earth like the social,
environmental, and loss of different species.
Social effects are one of many of the big effects of deforestation. The most threatening social effect
that deforestation has on most areas is in the medical profession. Tropical rainforest have given us
chemicals to treat or cure inflammation, rheumatism, diabetes, muscle tension, surgical
complications, malaria, heart conditions, skin diseases, arthritis, glaucoma, and hundreds of other
maladies. (Tropical Forest In Our Daily Lives.) Every day, nearly 137 species are becoming
extinct making it a complete unknown possibility of Pharmaceutical potential being destroyed.
(Deforestation Effects.) Instead of destroying species everyday for just paper, pencils, and many
other sources when people can cut them down for more useful reasons like medicine and not
destroy many all at once.
An obvious effect on deforestation is environmental

Albert Ellis Irrational Beliefs
To cope with this, I will apply Albert Ellis methods of identifying irrational beliefs, disputing
beliefs, rational beliefs, and their overall effects. In regards to irrational beliefs, as few I can
identify as having held were: She s an adult, she should know better, This makes me shrink, I hate
feeling like I m less, and She s overvaluing her position in the family. Ellis then asks us to dispute
those irrational beliefs and see where holding them gets us (Engler, 2009. I realized that by holding
her to the standard that she is an adult and should know better does not mean that she really does
know better. It can be helpful to understand that not every adult is at the same place of emotional

The Need to Redress German Dependence on Russia for its...
How would energy diversification away from Russia change the behaviour of Germany to its
Eastern European Partners?
Germany is by a long distance the largest consumer of energy in Europe it is especially reliant on
foreign sources of energy in the form of fossil fuels. Germany is the seventh largest consumer of
energy in the world, (EIA 2013) and because Germany has an insufficient amount of local oil and
gas reserves to fuel its economy it imports most if not all of its gas and oil needs. Germany s
central position and size on the European continent ensures that Germany s relationship with its
neighbours is affected to a large degree by this dependence as Oil remains the most significant
although declining energy source in Germany, accounting for 32% in 2010. (IEA 2012 p.6) Oil is
imported to the country through its pipeline infrastructure and ports. Imports mainly come from
Russia, Norway, the United Kingdom and Holland. Germany is also a huge consumer of Natural
Gas imported from Russia, and Norway through various gas pipeline infrastructures. Because, of
Germany s European Membership and thus its European Energy Community membership its
Energy system is deeply interwoven with its European Allies and from outside this framework also
with Russia. Germany s reliance on the latter for a significant portion of its energy needs is a
worrying situation for its European allies, most specifically in the Eastern European Countries of
Poland and Lithuania. The newly built Nord

Samsung also has a strong customer loyalty to its brand which can be a strong barrier to the new
entrant. According to the (Anonymous, 2009) Mikah Martin Cruz, marketing director of Samsung
Electronics UK claims that nurturing the customers brand loyalty to samsung is the main pillars of
marketing direction. The threat of substitute for Samsung may be due to the similar phones with
more advanced feature that are usually of competitor brands like the Apple iphone,Huawei
etc.Price also may play a role in chances of substitution when a competitor brand provides the same
feature with a relatively low price. Due to the rapid growth in technology the smart phones are
likely to be substituted more advanced technologies. (Boult, 2015) claims that smart phones may
not exist in another five years as consumers are getting interested in Virtual Reality VR.The power
of consumers is high as there are varieties of smart phones available in the market. In case of
Samsung too consumer has the power to bargain and have choices of different varieties of phone
with same features and relatively low prices. The Power of supplier is low for Samsung because
Samsung has its own supplier for most of the components. Samsung supplies its own raw material
and also manufactures its own processor and its components.

Muscle Conduction Summary
In experiment A, the EMG activity from the voluntary contractions of the flexor digiti minimi
muscle were recorded. The voltage output during small contraction was 0.087mV compared to the
response of 1.356mV during sustained maximal contraction (Figure 1). The amount of force
generated by a muscle is dependent on the number of motor units recruited and active at any one
time (Purves et al, 2012). Henneman s size principle shows that the gradual increase in tension
results from the recruitment of motor units in a fixed order according to their size (Purves et al,
2012). Therefore during small and weak stimulation only the smallest motor units are recruited
whereas the larger motor units are then recruited to generate large forces.
Experiments B and C were used to calculate the motor nerve conduction velocities of the Ulnar and
median nerves respectively. At each stimulating site; the latency, amplitude and duration of the
CMAP were measured. Latency is the time from the stimulus to the initial negative deflection from
the baseline (Kandel, Schwartz Jessell, 2013). Latency represents the nerve conduction time, the
time delay across the neuromuscular junction and the depolarization time across the muscle ... Show

In comparison with the normal recording of 2ms/division, the difference observed is 3ms/division.
Therefore, the duration of the action potential in abnormal study is longer than the normal study.
The morphology of the abnormal CMAP is jagged compared to the smooth curve in the normal
study. The latency at the recording site above elbow is 17.5ms which is longer compared to the
normal 6.9ms. The conduction velocity of 17.8 m/s is far slower than the normal range of 49 72m
/s (Davis King et al, 1992). This is caused by damage to myelin sheaths of the axon (a non focal
neuropathy). The myelination of axons can greatly increase conduction velocity, by acting as an
electrical insulator (Purves et al,

Summary Of The Magician, The Witch, And The Law
The Magician, the Witch, and the Law was a timeline of the people, events, and documents that
significantly influenced the development of magic and witchcraft persecution. Edward Peters
formed his timeline beginning with early Christianity and ending with the sixteenth century. The
study argued that these people, events, and documents led to the persecution and burning of
witches in the seventeenth century. The timeline began with the explanation of harsh Greek and
Roman laws against magos. The laws were harsh because magicwas a disruption of society and the
cause of political instability (9). Magos were practitioners of magic or those who used the power
of divine or demonic sources. Christians were primarily concerned with first proving that... Show

Peters lays out three theories about why Philip IV persecuted the Templars. First, for their
money. Second, Philip wanted to be King of Jerusalem and give France to his son. Third,
Boniface VIII humiliated Philip when he accused Philip of crimes against God. Philip did not
believe that the Church who accused him was the real Church. The false Church had false
followers who practiced idolatry, the false followers including the Templars. Philip wanted to
eradicate this fake Church. The Templar s trial was significant because magic and sorcery was
viewed as idolatry; sorcery and magic was an attack on Christianity. The idea of a vulnerable
Church continued into later centuries, which ultimately strengthened the Church by offsetting the
vulnerability. This showed that the courts were not beyond attacking the Pope or other people in

Achieving Conservation Goals With Urbanizing Landscapes
Synopsis: Achieving Conservation goals with Urbanizing Landscapes
Goal of the Study: To help Conservation biology realize that they need to embrace urbanizing
ecosystems; to consider designing a protected area of network in NJ highlands; to apply the costs
of obtaining land and integrating this land into a protected urban area and to observe the
performance of a long stand preserved urban area in central university in terms of its biodiversity
protection.
Rationale: Urban areas should not be ignored because they hold a surprisingly high number of
native species, some of which are very much of conservation concern. At time conservation

In 1996 to 2004, State0wide voters accepted a budget of $11.4 billion dollars to fund many urban
land conservation projects. During this vote, New Jersey accounted for over 75% of this funding.
Major motivations include preserving local biodiversity in an urbanizing environment and
protecting important populations or rare species. Professor Lockwood realized that 17 species
found in the area were rapidly declining, such as Least flycatcher, field sparrow and cerulean
warbler. Professor Lockwood made it her goal to find an urban area that would allow these bird
species to thrive, and affordable cost of acquiring the land.
Methods: Professor Lockwood used distribution maps from MAxent software for each of the 17
species of birds and then overlaid these distribution maps unto the maps of land use/land cover in
the study region. In order to build a protected areas network in the New Jersey highlands that will
provide sufficient habitat for the 17 species, Professor Lockwood used an optimization algorithm.
Optimization algorithm often used in evolution studies and industrial. These are very well
developed for many situations in which the goal needs to be met at minimum costs. In this
situation, the Algorithm would search through the red dots of the species, looking to include those
that satisfy habitat needs for birds while minimizing the costs, such as

Following Your Dreams
What is the underlying reason as to why we do not fulfill our dreams? Maybe it is because we
lack the inner motivation and desire within ourselves; or we tend to blame other people for our
failures; or perhaps we are missing the resources that we desperately need. Sometimes it may be
because others discourage us. A dream is a personal desire to accomplish something that we want
to achieve, but we do not necessarily know where to begin or even have enough confidence within
ourselves to fulfill it. A specific factor that plays a major role in fulfilling our dreams can be the
issue of gender. Many people feel that women do not have the same opportunities that males are
given in specific fields. For example, the field of science deals with... Show more content on

They feel we need to be more realistic while following our dreams so that we do not set up
disappointment for our selves. Like Morgan and Emerson, we must try to believe and have hope
that one will pursue their dreams and go further. In other words, we must be supportive! If
people are not giving us support while we are making dreams and trying to follow through with
them, then we may give up. People would start to feel like their dreams were not important or
worthwhile. As a result, we tend to lack motivation to even start our goals and dreams. So, how
exactly do we figure out our dreams and then follow through with them no matter what anybody
else says? Perhaps we can look to those like McClintock that have already set and started fulfilling
their goals, and then do what works best for us.
In 1942, McClintock s profession of becoming a scientist was secured when she received a

Evil features in both В‘Dracula and В‘Frankenstein but the personification of this evil is different

Mina realises this and pleads with the men to not tell her anything that might give their plans away.
I found Dracula particularly vivid in detail, this contributed to making the novel more
frightening, the horror and blood filled images were described so brilliantly that I could not
help but imagine them. Her white night dress was smeared with blood, and a thin stream
trickled down the man s bare breast, which was shown by his torn open dress. The attitude of the
two had a terrible resemblance to a child forcing a kitten s nose into a saucer of milk to compel it
to drink. This horrifying scene continues, His eyes flamed red with devilish passion, his aquiline
nose opened wide and quivered at the edges; and the white sharp teeth, behind the full lips of the
blood dripping mouth, champed together like those of a wild beast. In В‘Frankenstein the monster
does not wish to spill blood and uses strangulation as his only method of killing, the murder scenes

Relationships and Religion in The Handmaids Tale by...
In the novel The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood the themes of Religion and inter human
relationships are the themes that are most evident in the text. This novel shows the possibility of
the existence of an all powerful governing system. This is portrayed through the lack of freedom
for women in society, from being revoked of their right to own any money or property, to being
stripped of their given names and acquiring names such as Offred and Ofglen, symbolizing women
s dependant existence, only being defined by the men which they belong to. This portrayal of
women demonstrates the idea that individuals are unimportant, that the goals of the society as a
whole are more pertinent. For our purposes, your feet and your hands are not... Show more content

Offred is a part of a society that leaves her deprived of any warm human relationship, and only
conforms to the rules set on her because she wants to survive. Having such a lack of freedom
makes her crave human affection, and she copes with this by trying to escape reality, while at
the same time avoiding the memories of the freedom she once had. Religion is an idea that is
also significant in A Season in the Life of Emmanuel by Marie Claire Blais. This theme is
accompanied by hypocrisy, abuse and the need for escape from reality. This novel tells the
stories of children growing up in a society in which their lives are not valued. The children in this
society are expected to repress the abuse inflicted on them, leaving them to deal with their
demons on their own. This abuse is often present in the church and in the reformatories that they
are sent to, demonstrating the hypocrisy present in this society. Since these children are not
aided in overcoming the obstacles placed in their lives, they search for and begin to find their
own ways of escaping reality. For Jean le Maigre, who is very sick but nonetheless is made to go
to school and work the family s land, the escape is found through the writing of stories and
poems. Jean le Maigre is also a good example of the search for a reality break in the children,
along with Number 7, as they both resort to alcohol to escape from the repression that they felt
from the strict religious lifestyle they followed at

Network Switching and Routing Essays
Switching Routing
The purpose of this paper is to provide a better understanding of switching and routing used in a
network environment and familiarize the reader with various hardware and software associated
with there functions. This paper will look at some switching concepts that will include store and
forward switching, cut through switching, fragment free switching, and V Lan. This paper will also
cover routing concepts, along with some comparisons including routed vs. routing protocols,
Classful vs. classless protocols, and distance vector vs. link state protocols.

There are hybrid switches available today that combine both store and forward and cut through
switching methods. These hybrids are known as runtless or fragment free switches. Fragment free
switches were designed to solve the late collision problem and are primarily used in the backbone
of congested networks. These hybrids check both the source and destination MAC address of a
packet then make the appropriate switching to send the packet to its corresponding destination

VLANs
VLANs or Virtual Local Area Networks are logical local area networks that extend beyond the
traditional LAN architecture. Because a VLAN is a logical entity, creating and configuring a
VLAN is done completely in software. The advantages to using this type of LAN include but are
not limited to the ability to conserve the network resources, to bridge geographical drawbacks,
and to better manage the movement of personnel and equipment. To understand the need for
VLANs you must first understand the Local Area Network (LAN). The definition of a LAN
started as a group of computers that were connected in the same area, but today s LAN is defined
as a single broadcast domain. This is explained easily by looking at a large organization where
each department would be on a separate LAN found behind a router or switch. With today s
expanding networks it has become important for these

The Impact Of Social Media On American Elections
The Impact of Social Media on American Elections and the importance of 21st century media outlets
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media websites have affected American elections in
many forms. Candidates are now turning their attention to the people on social networks Murse

These applicants are trying to step up and make a huge difference from the election of 2008. While

immigrants are often stigmatized as criminals, even though the statistics show otherwise. The paper
studies the criminalization of immigrants in great detail by using several highly credible sources

previous study was based on 205 Japanese volunteers and patients between age 20 and 29 years.
From this study was found that Tt genotype of the TaqI polymorphism were more frequently

degenerative disc disease verified in Chinese population (Cheung, et al., 2006). The fact that
replication of TaqI polymorphism was appeared in three different populations makes VDR as the
most robust of genes associated with disc degeneration disease. The reason for this is not clear but a
possible explanation is based on the fact that the polymorphism can affect the receptor level and
function of vitamin D. Based on the fact that vitamin D influence the sulphate metabolism which is
important for sulphation of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) during proteoglycan synthesis, the latter
can lead to changes in the structural characteristic of the extracellular matrix in the intervertebral

Nathan In The Poisonwood Bible
9) Share your thoughts on why the author never has Nathan Price narrate directly. Everything you
know about Nathan must be derived from what others said about him. Consider why Kingsolver
chose to omit Nathan s narration.
Nathan Price is not given a voice in The Poisonwood Bible because the story does not revolve
around him personally. The story revolves around his wife and four daughters, who are heavily
affected by all of his decisions and actions. Nathan indeed is the center of all the tragedy and
hardship that the girls endure, but Nathan does not suffer his own consequences, until his ultimate
demise at the hand of the Congolese. Also, I believe Kingsolver wanted a precise image of
Nathan in the reader s mind whenever he was found throughout the story. She wanted to depict
him as abhorrent and repulsive, so the readers despise him even more. Nathan is the center of pain
for the Price family. First, he forces them to leave their luxurious home in Bethlehem, Georgia, and
move all the way to the Congo, isolated from their modern society. All four of the children are
deprived from a proper education, and the entire family is restricted ... Show more content on

Every time Nathan was present in the story I was immediately displeased and wanted him gone.
His vulgar comments and actions anger the reader so much, and Kingsolver wanted that image to
stay. She wanted the readers to hate him so they can sympathize with Orleanna and her
daughters. If she included his narrations in the book, the reader could possibly see his soft side,
and his anger. His frustration has to have a root somewhere (his horrific experience in the war),
and with the exposure of his own thoughts and feelings, the reader would be able to witness them
and have a new opinion of him. For the purpose of The Poisonwood Bible though, Nathan had to

When I write about the destructive effects of alcohol on Indians, I am not writing out of a literary
stance or a colonized mind s need to reinforce stereotypes. I am writing autobiography, Sherman
Alexie. In the book Lone Ranger And Tanto Fist Fight in Heaven, Sherman Alexie blends real life
experience with fiction in order to address the struggles of the Spokane people. He addresses how
historical trauma continues to negatively impact his tribe. In order to describe these struggles
Alexie focuses on a young man named Victor, who represents Alexie. Sherman Alexie describes
how alcohol can damage families, through examining absent parents, aggressive uncles, and the

One of the many different ways alcohol has affected Victor s family is his parents drinking too

Prostate Carcinoma Essay
INTRODUCTION
Prostate cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer and the sixth leading cause of
cancer death in males. Incidence rates vary more than 25 fold worldwide, with the highest rates in
the developed countries this may be due to the widespread use of prostate specific antigen testing
and subsequent prostate biopsy in these regions [1]. Overall, the complex morphology, histologic
heterogeneity, and the early signs of high malignant potential preclude a straightforward assessment
of the metastatic potential of localized prostate carcinoma and show the requirement for extra
clinical and pathologic tests for the evaluation of prostate carcinoma stage and clinical behavior[2]
Distant spread of primary malignant cells to local and distant sites was explained by several
models. Cumulative research shows a pivotal role of tumor microenvironment in the process of
malignant cell dissemination. This role occurs through angiogenesis and epithelial stromal
interactions, via the paracrine secretion of growth factors by stromal cells, which induce an
epithelial mesenchymal transition in neighboring epithelial cells. This result in the increased
migration of epithelial cells [3]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chloramphenicol And Protein Synthesis Lab Report
Introduction
In this practical, we will investigate and compare the mechanisms of action of the drugs:
Chloramphenicol and Rifampicin, specifically by identifying whether their effects are bacteriostatic
or bactericidal, and by looking at their effect on RNA and protein synthesis
Antibiotics can be divided into two categories: Bactericidal or Bacteriostatic. Bactericidal
antibiotics directly kill the micro organisms, and depending on the amount given, the bacteria will
not recover after administration of the antibiotic is ceased. Bacteriostatic antibiotics prevent growth
of the bacteria, by targeting proteins that are involved in reproduction. Once the bacteriostatic
antibiotic is removed, population numbers usually increase again.
One of the drugs we will be investigating is Chloramphenicol. Chloramphenicol is a member of the
Amphenicol family/class of antibiotics. It is effective against gram negative and gram positive
bacteria. Members of the family work by targeting protein synthesis. Due to its ability to work
against gram negative and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rifampicin specifically binds to and inhibits RNA polymerase in prokaryotic organisms. It is a
potent agent used to treat tuberculosis. It targets the majority of gram positive bacteria and a
considerable number of gram negative bacteria. It is able to kill intracellular microorganisms as it
can enter phagocytes. Drug resistance can arise quickly and easily, and is believed to occur due to
a chromosomal mutation, which results in a change in the DNA dependent RNA polymerase.
Rifampicin is orally administrated, and has no common unwanted side effects. Side effects can
include: skin rashes, fever and gastrointestinal disturbances. Liver damage has been observed in
rare cases. Rifampicin also induces metabolising enzymes in the liver, and therefore drugs such as
warfarin may be quicker metabolised. (Dale and Rang,

The Capital Budget For The Hospital Wing Renovation
Monies to renovate the hospital wing will come from a capital budget which will include the
demolition and reconstruction of the existing structure without changing the footprint. Equipment
and furnishings needed for the unit will also come from the capital budget. The hospital may apply
for grants or run a fundraising campaign through the hospitalfoundation to assist with the costs of
the project. A fundamental concept integral to business planning is the time value of money. A
dollar today is worth more than a dollar in the future (McKay Peters, 2013, p. 107). McKay
Peters go on to state that Whatever money a project generates over time must take into account
that the value of the dollar is falling (2013, p. 107). The capital budget for the hospital wing
renovation is an estimate of 1,500,000 dollars. This number is derived from comparing similar
projects and then determining a reasonable budget for the project planned. One such similar
project at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa had a budget of 2,200,000 for a 10,000 sq.
feet renovation of nine patient rooms. This renovation included replacing an elevator, a pharmacy

Analysis Of Michael Hoffman s The Best Of Me
I love who I am when I m with you, Amanda. You are my dearest friend, my deepest love. You are
the very best of me. (Dawson). Everyone wants a love similar to Amanda s and Dawson s, in
Michael Hoffman s The Best of Me. This analysis will explore how flashbacks show the
characters background and history, the plot is based on the growth of the characters, and the irony
of specific points in the movie. Michael Hoffman s The Best of Me is relevant today, because love
does not occur in isolation with only two people. In addition to a couple s own responses to life
situations, pressures from outsiders both positive and negative, are placed on every couple.
Michael Hoffman uses flashbacks to show the setting and specific events that occurred twenty
one years ago. Through the flashbacks you can see why the characters act the way that they do.
The audience is presented with background information and past experiences. The flashbacks
show how being back where Dawson and Amanda first met each other and fell in love effects
their emotions in the present. Reliving their past by eating at Tuck s house, Dawson giving

Emergency Preparedness Is Not Full Proof
Do you believe we could ever be fully prepared for all natural disasters to avoid the meltdown that
occurred at the Fukushima nuclear power plant? Why or why not?
As history has depicted Emergency preparedness is not full proof, even with the best technology. It
is impossible to predict the magnitude, timing and the aftermath of all natural disasters. However,
the leaders of the nuclear plant such as the Fukushima nuclear plant must be cognizant, of the
importance of emergency preparedness through simulation of different possible scenarios, it seems
the company was overconfident in their ability to keep their nuclear materials contained within the
their designated areas. Sadly, such assumptions resulted in one of the worst disasters in Japan s
history. Prior to the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster, the executives were warned about the
inadequacy of the wall built to prevent water from spilling from the ocean onto the complex. Most
scientists had feared that the barrier protecting the nuclear complex was not strong enough to
endure huge waves in the event of a strong Tsunami, and their fears came to light on March 11,
2011.
Overall, one cannot be fully prepared for a disaster such the Fukushima nuclear meltdown because
there is always the slim chance that nature may through a curve ball, but efforts must be made by
establishments to make sure all possible scenarios are addressed in emergency preparedness
protocol.
What are the two top sources of natural and man made

Generals die in Bed by Charles Yale Harrison is a novel where a young Canadian soldier tells of his

World War 1. Through his observations and experiences the Narrator shows the effects of war on
ordinary people and how they manage in extraordinarily horrific situations. Even though the brutal

Throughout the novel they are compassionate and caring to even their enemies in their darkest

mercy even while being pleaded too.
Throughout the novel the Narrator often shows compassion towards others in his actions eg. letting
the German soldier grieve for his dead brother letting him take a few letters and papers from his
brother s pockets and imagines how their mother would feel. He then helps the Germans to safety
behind the lines amp; asks that the prisoners be treated nicely.
Just like their constant companions the lice and the rats, the soldiers in the trench adapt to the hell
that they find themselves trapped in doing whatever it takes to survive. They even fight each

Religious Education, often abbreviated to RE , is a subject like no other. It is one where
children and young people engage in a search for meaning, value and purpose in life. 1 The
United Kingdom is such a culturally diverse nation and, for many citizens, Religious Education
and practice are vital in order for them to live their chosen lives of faith. So, why should their
children be deprived of being given the materials and in class encouragement that would be
instrumental in order to develop their own beliefs, morals and Religious values?
CFE RME: Principles and Practice and CFE RME: Experiences and Outcomes are two critical
documents to support and enhance our understanding of the importance of Religious Education, not
only in the Curriculum, but in the wider community and in every day life. As previously
mentioned, our nation is so rich in cultural variety and many agree that it is vital for learners to
learn to appreciate and celebrate diversity

Liberalism and Conservatism
Nearly all Americans identify themselves with ideologies that don t discount another existing
ideology. Most people are Liberals or Conservatives because they have their own attitude regarding
our society. Liberalism and conservatism handle their issues with entirely different philosophies.
Liberals and Conservatives beliefs cover a wide range of issues that are influenced or established
by the kind of principles they embrace. The two most common ideologies in American politics are
Liberalism and Conservatism. Liberalism believes that they are people in the world that needs help.

practices by supporting certain religious or spiritual groups over the other.

complete different ways of accomplishing them. The differences between liberalism and

How To Change School Lunch
Changing the school lunch would be a poor decision as a result of income loss and the amount of
calories we need to consume in a day. Students might start bringing in packed lunches, which
could lead to a drop in revenue for schools. Consequently, prices will go up. However, schools
require healthier choices but it doesn t guarantee a healthy lifestyle for anyone. First, most cafeteria
fruits and vegetables aren t fresh, and mostly come frozen, therefore, they are not as high quality as
the ones from the market. Therefore, the students will be discouraged to eat these foods. Fruits
served during lunchare artificially sweetened to taste better, and while vegetables are great for a
healthier lifestyle, it could be undercooked or overcooked,

Tales From The Mekong Delta Essay
Everything turns a beautiful blue. Sights, sounds, touch, and mind sets are changed. Creativity
flows freely from your mind to the hand to the pen and to the paper. This blue is the blue that
knows you and where you live and it s never going to forget (107). The blue is the fix and
excitement an addict gets from drugs. Addicts look for an escape. They feel that if they just have
that hit they will enjoy life and its experiences to a fuller extent. In Kate Braverman s short story
Tall Tales From the Mekong Delta, she describes one woman s struggle with drugs and how she
eventually turns back to them after being sober for so many years. Through examining the
changing appearance of Lenny, her longing for escape from every day life,... Show more content on

He pampers her with lavish stories and promises beyond his reach. It is all a temptation. He even
makes her drink for the first time. She has slipped back into her old schedule, discarding the watch
that kept her grounded and on time to her many meetings and functions. She gets upset with Lenny
for coming to her house because now her addiction is following her home and effecting her
daughter. When the daughter is first mentioned, the narrator tries to go to a different clinic and
avoid Lenny, but she ends up going back anyway. It is evident that she can t leave her addiction
behind. For her, everyday acts seem much more enjoyable when on drugs. She goes out of their
way to experience something new and exciting. She is a creative writer and uses drugs as a way
to get back to her child like imaginative state. Suddenly, with the drugs back in her life, she seems
to have much more insight and a wilder imagination. And the afternoon was absinthe yellow and
almond, burnt orange and chrysanthemum. And in the abstract sky, a litany of kites (93). She
longs to feel this way all of the time, but she knows the consequences. She sees doing drugs like
going to a carnival. It is an escape from the boring life she is leading now. Even though she has a
daughter, she still feels like there is something she is missing out on. The idea of motherhood
takes backseat to her lust for drugs. Colors play a huge role in her life. She didn t

Essay on How Asian Americans are Portrayed in Hollywood...
Asian American actors and actresses are portrayed in Hollywood movies as always being the silent
and yielding foreign victims to social injustice and prejudice. Whether or not these depictions are
true, they are nonetheless stereotypes that Hollywood producers have come up with. According to
the US Census in the year 2000, Asian Americans make up 4.2% of the entire American population,
and knowing that most Asian Americans live on the west and east coast of the United States, many
Americans living in central parts of this country have not really been exposed to any Asian
Americans. Because of this fact, it is highly probable that most Americans get their exposure to the
Asian Americanlifestyle only through television and movies. Even if... Show more content on

His men get defeated by other white gangs which clearly shows that Hollywood wants you to think
that Asians are inferior to white people. In Richard Fung s analysis on Sally s Beauty Spot, The
fact that Sally never kisses an Asian unfortunately reflects the absence of Asian men from
Western sexual representation (Fung 169). Asian actors rarely get to be involved in on screen
romantic relationships with their co star Asian actresses because Hollywood does not believe
Asian men are capable of being sexual. They would rather have them doing fighting scenes or
even playing nerdy roles than to allow them to do romantic scenes. Similarly, in the James Bond
film Tomorrow Never Dies, only Bond is involved in a relationship with the Asian female
character played by Michelle Yeoh. And majority of the time in most films, Asian actors and
actresses are instructed to speak with an Asian accident and in broken English. Likewise for
Asian actresses, they have been pictured as exotic, highly sexual, overly feminine, and eager to
please women capable of easily falling in love with white men. But what Hollywood really fails to
portray about Asian women in Asia is that they are prostitutes trying to make a living to put food
on the table for their families. People do not realize that these Asian women come from poverty and
did not receive the same education as American women. These Asian women are not choosing to
have sex with white males, but because their clients have

  • 2. Assimilation During Immigrants mmigration is a subject that everyone is talking about. Specifically, assimilation during immigration. Should people keep their culture or assimilate into society? In all fairness to both sides of this argument, assimilation is necessary for everyday life to run smoothly for all americans, not just the immigrants. This is because immigrants will usually not adhere to our food, religion, or language at first. They then accept that adapting is the only way to survive. The reasoning behind assimilation is fairly simple. While one could attempt to blend their cultureand ours, if only given the option of one, there is no question. Hardly anyone can function in a society without adapting to their environment, which boils down to the very most basic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Fly Away Peter The novel Fly Away Peter expresses specific attitudes and values by encouraging the reader to identify with the central character, Jim Saddler. David Malouf, the author, attempts to expose the brutality of war and encourages readers to realise that one can be living a very sheltered lifestyle oblivious of the cruelty and negative side of life. In this text dealing with the experiences of Jim during World War Iand events leading up to his signing up, the author uses biblical allusions, evocative and sensuous imagery, contrast of settings, metaphors and other characters to aid readers to establish an identity for the protagonist. It is through his central character that he communicates his disparaging perspective on war and points out... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jim s childish enjoyment of the episode when he and Clancy run to the engine for hot water, and his naГЇve admiration for the Pharaoh like grandeur of the war, are reminders of how little he knows. However the audience shares in Jim s growing horror as we discover what it s really like when he gets into the trenches. Clancy whom by now the reader has associated with as a lovable larrikin is blasted out of existence , Eric s legs are torn off and Bob coughs up his lungs. These ghastly images as witnesses by Jim causes the reader to react in an anti war way. Hence through contrast of settings Malouf shows his condescending attitude towards war. Malouf uses poignant metaphors which relate to the central character and delivers his message of life s meaning even after death. The concluding scene where Imogen is on the beach reflecting upon Jim s unnecessarily shortened life, the wave is a metaphor for Jim s life. Growing bigger and higher until ultimately crashing down symbolic of the rising and falling of Jim s life. Like a wave Jim reached his peak which was death. Also when Jim, running towards the enemy lines, sees himself a distant slow moving figure withinВ… the long view of all their lives , he is understanding that life is something that moves relentlessly towards death. here Malouf seeks to say that we are not divine creatures but instead mortal. We must accept that ultimate change which is the subject ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Death Of Tennessee V Garner Sidney Hildebrandt Tennessee V Garner On the night of October 3rd, 1974 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Edward Garner was shot by Officer Hymon in an attempt to stop him from escaping a crime scene. Garner died on the operating table due to the gunshot wound on the back of his head. His crime was burglary and he was found with a mere ten dollars and a purse. The case was argued on October 30th, 1984 and a decision was made on March 27th, 1985. The father of Edward Garner believed his son s constitutional rights were violated by the defendants Officer Hymon, the Police Department, and the Mayor of the city of Memphis. With a 6 3 decision, the Justices decided that Officer Hymon was acting justly under the fourth amendment that states that deadly force is constitutional as long as it is reasonable . I believe Officer Hymon was acting in good faith and simply fulfilling his duty to protect the public and stop criminals from escaping punishment. Edward Eugene Garner life ended in his eighth grade year at the young age of 15.He stood at five feet four inches tall and weighed around one hundred pounds.1 The father of Edward, Cleamtee Garner, brought the case into action by claiming that his son s fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and fourteenth amendments were violated.2 Officer Elton Hymon, along with Leslie Wright received a prowler inside call . • 6. Apathy In American Psycho I believe that everyone in my generation should watch the controversial film American Psycho. This movie is essentially a social commentary on how our society is dying. It provides some examples of the symptoms of a dying society we see in our world today, like apathy, moral decay, and affluenza. American Psycho displays apathy in the last scene of the movie. The main character, Patrick Bateman, had just committed mass murder the night before and confessed it to his lawyer. His lawyer, fearing the public backlash against Patrick, essentially told him to act as if nothing happened. Patrick was never punished for his heinous crime because no one cared enough to prosecute him. In addition, when Patrick returned to the apartment where he murdered his friend several days before, he found a real estate company there that was cleaning up the place and attempting to sell the apartment. When he inspected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One scene that displays this features Patrick and his friends comparing business cards. Patrick s card is not the best, so he has a mental breakdown. In another scene, he kills his friend because his friend likes a different restaurant than Patrick does. Perhaps the most glaring example, however, is the scene where he brutally stabs a homeless man to death: first, he felt bad for the homeless and said he would help the him, but then when Patrick saw that the homeless man was absolutely pathetic by Patrick s standards , Patrick proceeded to take out a knife and stab the homeless man to death. American Psycho is a masterfully crafted social commentary relevant today. It shows the signs of a defective and dying society, which include apathy, moral decay, and affluenza. This is relevant today because these three qualities are exactly what we see today in society. American Psycho can be interpreted as a call to action, to maintain high moral standards and to not let our wealth blind us to the needs of other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Around the world, Tropical Rainforests are being destroyed at a rate of 80 to 90 acres each minute. (Thompson, Heather) The rainforest is home of many living creatures and provide the world with many supplies such as, food, clean water, and housing, but soon the population of those living creatures will decrease and those supplies will be gone. People need to end deforestation globally because of the main effects it has on earth like the social, environmental, and loss of different species. Social effects are one of many of the big effects of deforestation. The most threatening social effect that deforestation has on most areas is in the medical profession. Tropical rainforest have given us chemicals to treat or cure inflammation, rheumatism, diabetes, muscle tension, surgical complications, malaria, heart conditions, skin diseases, arthritis, glaucoma, and hundreds of other maladies. • 14. The Need to Redress German Dependence on Russia for its... How would energy diversification away from Russia change the behaviour of Germany to its Eastern European Partners? Germany is by a long distance the largest consumer of energy in Europe it is especially reliant on foreign sources of energy in the form of fossil fuels. Germany is the seventh largest consumer of energy in the world, (EIA 2013) and because Germany has an insufficient amount of local oil and gas reserves to fuel its economy it imports most if not all of its gas and oil needs. Germany s central position and size on the European continent ensures that Germany s relationship with its neighbours is affected to a large degree by this dependence as Oil remains the most significant although declining energy source in Germany, accounting for 32% in 2010. (IEA 2012 p.6) Oil is imported to the country through its pipeline infrastructure and ports. Imports mainly come from Russia, Norway, the United Kingdom and Holland. Germany is also a huge consumer of Natural Gas imported from Russia, and Norway through various gas pipeline infrastructures. Because, of Germany s European Membership and thus its European Energy Community membership its Energy system is deeply interwoven with its European Allies and from outside this framework also with Russia. Germany s reliance on the latter for a significant portion of its energy needs is a worrying situation for its European allies, most specifically in the Eastern European Countries of Poland and Lithuania. • 16. Muscle Conduction Summary In experiment A, the EMG activity from the voluntary contractions of the flexor digiti minimi muscle were recorded. The voltage output during small contraction was 0.087mV compared to the response of 1.356mV during sustained maximal contraction (Figure 1). The amount of force generated by a muscle is dependent on the number of motor units recruited and active at any one time (Purves et al, 2012). Henneman s size principle shows that the gradual increase in tension results from the recruitment of motor units in a fixed order according to their size (Purves et al, 2012). Therefore during small and weak stimulation only the smallest motor units are recruited whereas the larger motor units are then recruited to generate large forces. Experiments B and C were used to calculate the motor nerve conduction velocities of the Ulnar and median nerves respectively. At each stimulating site; the latency, amplitude and duration of the CMAP were measured. Latency is the time from the stimulus to the initial negative deflection from the baseline (Kandel, Schwartz Jessell, 2013). Latency represents the nerve conduction time, the time delay across the neuromuscular junction and the depolarization time across the muscle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Summary Of The Magician, The Witch, And The Law The Magician, the Witch, and the Law was a timeline of the people, events, and documents that significantly influenced the development of magic and witchcraft persecution. Edward Peters formed his timeline beginning with early Christianity and ending with the sixteenth century. The study argued that these people, events, and documents led to the persecution and burning of witches in the seventeenth century. The timeline began with the explanation of harsh Greek and Roman laws against magos. The laws were harsh because magicwas a disruption of society and the cause of political instability (9). In 1996 to 2004, State0wide voters accepted a budget of $11.4 billion dollars to fund many urban land conservation projects. During this vote, New Jersey accounted for over 75% of this funding. Major motivations include preserving local biodiversity in an urbanizing environment and protecting important populations or rare species. Professor Lockwood realized that 17 species found in the area were rapidly declining, such as Least flycatcher, field sparrow and cerulean warbler. Professor Lockwood made it her goal to find an urban area that would allow these bird species to thrive, and affordable cost of acquiring the land. Methods: Professor Lockwood used distribution maps from MAxent software for each of the 17 species of birds and then overlaid these distribution maps unto the maps of land use/land cover in the study region. In order to build a protected areas network in the New Jersey highlands that will provide sufficient habitat for the 17 species, Professor Lockwood used an optimization algorithm. Optimization algorithm often used in evolution studies and industrial. These are very well developed for many situations in which the goal needs to be met at minimum costs. Sometimes it may be because others discourage us. A dream is a personal desire to accomplish something that we want to achieve, but we do not necessarily know where to begin or even have enough confidence within ourselves to fulfill it. A specific factor that plays a major role in fulfilling our dreams can be the issue of gender. Many people feel that women do not have the same opportunities that males are given in specific fields. For example, the field of science deals with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They feel we need to be more realistic while following our dreams so that we do not set up disappointment for our selves. Like Morgan and Emerson, we must try to believe and have hope that one will pursue their dreams and go further. In other words, we must be supportive! If people are not giving us support while we are making dreams and trying to follow through with them, then we may give up. People would start to feel like their dreams were not important or worthwhile. As a result, we tend to lack motivation to even start our goals and dreams. So, how exactly do we figure out our dreams and then follow through with them no matter what anybody else says? Perhaps we can look to those like McClintock that have already set and started fulfilling their goals, and then do what works best for us. In 1942, McClintock s profession of becoming a scientist was secured when she received a haven at the Carnegie Institution of Washington at Cold Spring Harbor, where she has remained ever since. Later, she was elected to the National Academy of Science and then became president of the Genetics Society of America. In her forties, McClintock discovered genetic transportation. A feeling of menace and doom pervades В‘Draculabecause of his supernatural powers. One feels that he has control of the evil and he has the power to manipulate the environment and people for his own ends. Mina realises this and pleads with the men to not tell her anything that might give their plans away. I found Dracula particularly vivid in detail, this contributed to making the novel more frightening, the horror and blood filled images were described so brilliantly that I could not help but imagine them. Her white night dress was smeared with blood, and a thin stream trickled down the man s bare breast, which was shown by his torn open dress. The attitude of the two had a terrible resemblance to a child forcing a kitten s nose into a saucer of milk to compel it to drink. This horrifying scene continues, His eyes flamed red with devilish passion, his aquiline nose opened wide and quivered at the edges; and the white sharp teeth, behind the full lips of the blood dripping mouth, champed together like those of a wild beast. In В‘Frankenstein the monster does not wish to spill blood and uses strangulation as his only method of killing, the murder scenes are not described in as much horrific detail and this leads to a less frightening view of the novel. To me, Dracula is a corrupt person, devoid of any human feelings, he does not wish to and cannot feel compassion for any other living soul, he is completely self involved and lives a solitary life, the only companions of his kind are the three female vampires. In the novel The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood the themes of Religion and inter human relationships are the themes that are most evident in the text. This novel shows the possibility of the existence of an all powerful governing system. This is portrayed through the lack of freedom for women in society, from being revoked of their right to own any money or property, to being stripped of their given names and acquiring names such as Offred and Ofglen, symbolizing women s dependant existence, only being defined by the men which they belong to. Religion is an idea that is also significant in A Season in the Life of Emmanuel by Marie Claire Blais. This theme is accompanied by hypocrisy, abuse and the need for escape from reality. This novel tells the stories of children growing up in a society in which their lives are not valued. The children in this society are expected to repress the abuse inflicted on them, leaving them to deal with their demons on their own. This abuse is often present in the church and in the reformatories that they are sent to, demonstrating the hypocrisy present in this society. Since these children are not aided in overcoming the obstacles placed in their lives, they search for and begin to find their own ways of escaping reality. For Jean le Maigre, who is very sick but nonetheless is made to go to school and work the family s land, the escape is found through the writing of stories and poems. Everything you know about Nathan must be derived from what others said about him. Consider why Kingsolver chose to omit Nathan s narration. Nathan Price is not given a voice in The Poisonwood Bible because the story does not revolve around him personally. The story revolves around his wife and four daughters, who are heavily affected by all of his decisions and actions. Nathan indeed is the center of all the tragedy and hardship that the girls endure, but Nathan does not suffer his own consequences, until his ultimate demise at the hand of the Congolese. Also, I believe Kingsolver wanted a precise image of Nathan in the reader s mind whenever he was found throughout the story. She wanted to depict him as abhorrent and repulsive, so the readers despise him even more. Nathan is the center of pain for the Price family. Incidence rates vary more than 25 fold worldwide, with the highest rates in the developed countries this may be due to the widespread use of prostate specific antigen testing and subsequent prostate biopsy in these regions [1]. Overall, the complex morphology, histologic heterogeneity, and the early signs of high malignant potential preclude a straightforward assessment of the metastatic potential of localized prostate carcinoma and show the requirement for extra clinical and pathologic tests for the evaluation of prostate carcinoma stage and clinical behavior[2] Distant spread of primary malignant cells to local and distant sites was explained by several models. Cumulative research shows a pivotal role of tumor microenvironment in the process of malignant cell dissemination. This role occurs through angiogenesis and epithelial stromal interactions, via the paracrine secretion of growth factors by stromal cells, which induce an epithelial mesenchymal transition in neighboring epithelial cells. The hospital may apply for grants or run a fundraising campaign through the hospitalfoundation to assist with the costs of the project. Through his observations and experiences the Narrator shows the effects of war on ordinary people and how they manage in extraordinarily horrific situations. However we also are shown bravery, companionship and acts of kindness as the soldiers struggle to stay humane and sane in a hellish environment. Throughout the novel they are compassionate and caring to even their enemies in their darkest moments. They also illustrate the dark and unforgiving side of human nature. They show no pity or mercy even while being pleaded too. Throughout the novel the Narrator often shows compassion towards others in his actions eg. letting the German soldier grieve for his dead brother letting him take a few letters and papers from his brother s pockets and imagines how their mother would feel. He then helps the Germans to safety behind the lines amp; asks that the prisoners be treated nicely. Just like their constant companions the lice and the rats, the soldiers in the trench adapt to the hell that they find themselves trapped in doing whatever it takes to survive. They even fight each other over food at each others throats like hungry, snarling animals . As the novel amp; the war progresses so does the inhumane side of the soldiers who become increasing more detached from killing, unconcerned with the death of friends. The soldiers are conditioned, hardened up and desensitised with self preservation becoming a key motivator. This is shown as the soldiers plunder the city of Arras allies town and vandalize houses with no consideration of the local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People do not realize that these Asian women come from poverty and did not receive the same education as American women. These Asian women are not choosing to have sex with white males, but because their clients have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
