• Adidas is the largest sport-wear manufacturer
in Germany and Europe.
• Adidas consists of the Reebok, Ashworth,
Runtastic .
• Besides sports footwear, Adidas also produces
bags, shirts, watches, eyewear, and other
sports- and clothing-related goods.
• Adidas was founded in 1948 by Adolf
Dassler.
• .
DRY-DYE TECHNOLOGY
• Dry-Dye technology is a polyester fabric dyeing
process that uses no water, 50% fewer
chemicals and 50% less energy.
• Dye is injected into the fabric using compressed
carbon dioxide. Then the carbon dioxide is
gasified, so that the dye condenses and
separates from the gas. Thus, the clean carbon
dioxide can be recycled.
• The Adidas brand first introduced the technology
in 2012, with a collection of 50,000 t-shirts, and
by the end of 2014, saving 100 million litres of
water.
.
LOW WASTE
The Adidas low-waste initiative produces footwear and
sports apparel with fewer parts, recycled materials and
maximum pattern efficiency, aiming to reduce material
waste.
Its main features are:
 It has only 12 parts compared to 30 in an average
running shoe – a 60% decrease in the number of parts
and 500g less waste per shoe.
 With 95% pattern efficiency, the Element Voyager is
down to 5% waste.
 The complete Element Voyager shoe is made with
environmentally preferred materials.
.
PLASTIC RECYCLING
Sea plastic
Adidas paired up with Parley for the Oceans to repurpose the millions of
pounds of plastic currently polluting the world's oceans. Instead of
remaining waste, Adidas has found a smart way to use recycling to their
(and the planet's) benefit.
. The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) exists to make global
cotton production better for the people who produce it,
better for the environment.
 BCI aims to transform cotton production worldwide by
developing Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream
commodity.
 To achieve this mission, BCI works to promote and
improvements for the environment, farming
communities and the economies of cotton-producing
areas.
 The Adidas Group has committed to source 100% of
cotton across all product categories in all its brands as
‘sustainable cotton’ by 2018.

Green Company
It was launched in 2008 and builds on environmental initiatives, improve the
environmental performance of administration offices, manufacturing sites and
distribution centres.
They set ambitious targets in the areas of energy, water and paper
consumption, carbon emissions and reduction of household waste, and each
individual site.
• An intelligent control unit, or 'retail box',
runs all of the store's operating
systems, optimising the heating,
ventilation, lighting, shading and door
control settings.
• The system can produce energy
savings of up to 50%.
• LED lighting and other energy efficient
devices also help to reduce the carbon
emissions from the store's energy use.
• Adidas has reacted and put climate change
and influence on the global environment on its
agenda.
• Adidas uses a three-fold approach in
addressing the impacts of climate change a) in
its own operation, b) in the entire supply chain
and c) in collaborating with policy makers and
industries.
• Mostly focus on reducing carbon dioxide
emissions through reduction in energy
consumption and choosing carbon emission
reducing transport.
