Parker Palmer discusses how community is a gift that stems from contemplation and developing an individual capacity for connectedness. True community involves suffering as possibilities in others are realized and requires creating "pockets of possibility" within larger organizations. It assumes people are resourceful and leaders facilitate rather than force traditional leadership roles. M. Scott Peck describes the stages of community as pseudocommunity, chaos, emptiness, and finally community, where a soft quietness descends and emotions range from joy to sadness.

Buying fairtrade products provides funds for development projects that benefit workers and address issues like poverty, disease, and the legacy of apartheid.

The Fairtrade foundation in the UK works to empower disadvantaged producers in developing countries like Nepal by promoting fair trade standards that guarantee just prices and decent working conditions. Nepal historically traded 90% of its goods with India and China in the 1950s. Nepal is located between India and China, has a population of 29 million, and its capital is Kathmandu. It has a diverse landscape that includes eight of the world's highest mountains like Mount Everest in the north.

Enabling Visitors to Explore a Smart City
This document discusses enabling visitors to explore smart cities using the 3cixty knowledge base and applications. 3cixty connects data from over 20 different sources about places, events, and related information in cities semantically to provide personalized recommendations and exploration. It was developed and tested for Expo Milano 2015 to help visitors plan trips and get recommendations.
