In	summary,		
§  Differences	in	functional	floral	traits	of	gene-pools	derived	
from	different	breeding	approaches	were	quantified	to	
work	towards	creating	a	“super-pollination”	environment	
§  Overall	the	results	revealed	that	interactive	effects	of	
functional	floral	traits	and	breeding	strategy	do	affect			
yield	determinants.	
§  We	highlight	the	opportunity	toward	creating,	in	farmer	
fields,	a	synergy	between	food	production	and	biodiversity	
(bee	fauna)	conservation.

inbred	lines	and	100	
hybrid	progeny	were	
evaluated	in	11	
environments.	The	
parents	were	genotyped	
and	classical	and	genomic	
tools	were	used	to	
predict	untested	
genotypes.

Efficient methods to develop new sweet corn cultivars for organic systems Objective •  Test the use of improved experimental design and genomic information to rapidly identify potential new organically-adapted varieties. Methods •  40 sugary enhancer maize inbred lines and 100 hybrid progeny were evaluated in 11 environments. The parents were genotyped and classical and genomic tools were used to predict untested genotypes.
