The document describes the design and testing of a birdcage coil to emulate the RF fields of an MRI machine. The coil was designed to resonate at 128 MHz but was found to resonate at 156 MHz due to unforeseen factors. A quadrature hybrid splitter was designed to drive the coil but was incompatible with its 156 MHz resonance. Testing showed 25-30% power reflection when driving the coil from a single port. An experiment heated a copper wire by 0.7°C over 10 minutes when driven by the coil at 156 MHz. Further modifications are needed to address issues with the coil's resonance frequency and power delivery.
