Design (by) Robots – What are the Coming Design Tasks?
(Slides from my talk at the webinale 2016, Berlin.) Again we are in a technological change with consequences for the users, like so often in the field of interactive media. What's going on? Robots are going to be fashionable, chatbots crowd our platforms, voice user interfaces enable the user to manipulate his smart home as well as his smartphone. Most of the responsive websites look the same because of the hyperinflation of template-systems, and the first AI-driven Tools like "theGrid" borrow the job of a web designer. It's about time to reflect all the changes in order to define the next design tasks and maybe – considering the nowadays data protection discussions – to take care about the responsibility, a designer always has for his creation.
