Biography of Christina Propst MD
Christina Propst, MD, has dedicated more than 25 years to the practice of General Pediatrics in
Houston, Texas. She is deeply committed to supporting children and their families through
trusted, evidence-based medical care. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in a
wide range of pediatric areas, including infectious diseases, public health, infant and child
development, allergies and asthma, nutrition, injury prevention, and gun violence prevention.
Her professional work combines clinical skill with a focus on education, guidance, and long-term
patient relationships.
Dr. Propst’s Distinguished Medical Career
Christina Propst, Houston, has been board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics since
2001, following the completion of her residency. She has also held her Texas State Medical
License without interruption since 2000. Her career includes years of service at Blue Fish
Pediatrics, Greater Heights, where she has practiced for seven years, Texas Children’s
Pediatrics–Fannin, where she worked for a decade, and Bootin & Savrick Pediatrics, where she
spent six years.
Dr. Propst is recognized by her patients, colleagues, and community for her unwavering
dedication and data-driven care. Her evidence-based practice and broad pediatric knowledge
have made her a trusted physician across Houston. She is regarded for her ability to balance
compassionate care with sound medical judgment, ensuring that the children she treats and

In 2024, she achieved the highest Patient Satisfaction Score at Blue Fish Pediatrics, Greater

extended her advocacy beyond her clinical practice, co-authoring the article "Keeping Children
Safe" with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) President, Dr. Fernando Stein. In
addition, she has contributed Op-Eds to the Houston Chronicle and organized Texas Children’s
Hospital’s Pediatric Grand Rounds on “Gun Violence & Pediatrics” in March 2017. Each of these

Christina Propst maintains membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the
Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), and the Texas Medical Association. In earlier years, she
served actively on the AAP Council on Children and Disasters, the Memorial Hermann
Pediatrics Clinical Program Committee (CPC), the Texas Pediatric Society (TPS) Committee on
Infectious Disease and Immunization, and the TPS Committee on Injury Prevention and
Environmental Health. Through these professional roles, she has contributed her insights and
time toward shaping policies and practices that benefit children throughout Texas.
Dr. Propst’s Academic Life
A first-generation American born in New York City to immigrant parents, Dr. Christina Propst
grew up bilingual in German and English. Her formative years at Horace Mann School reflected
her strong academic and leadership qualities. She graduated Cum Laude, participated as a
varsity track and cross-country runner, was elected senior co-captain, and served as president
of the orchestra and a leader in the choir.
She was admitted early to Princeton University, where she majored in Politics while completing
pre-medical requirements. Graduating Cum Laude in 1991, she combined academic rigor with
extracurricular leadership. Following her acceptance to Princeton, she was accepted into the
competitive Princeton-in-Asia program, where she spent two years in Machida, Japan, teaching
English. During this period, she traveled widely, studied Japanese, and immersed herself in the
culture and traditions of the region.
Attended Medical School at Tulane University
Christina Propst, Houston, chose Tulane University School of Medicine for her medical training.
She graduated in 1998 as a member of the top 5% of her class and was inducted into the Alpha
Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Her dedication earned her several student awards
in pediatrics. She matched into her first-choice residency in Pediatrics at Texas Children’s
Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine within the Texas Medical Center, Houston.
Honors and Awards
Among her early honors, Dr. Christina Propst received the Herbert B. Rothschild, M.D. Award
from The Greater New Orleans Pediatric Society. She also earned the Janet M. Glasgow
Memorial Achievement Citation from the American Medical Women’s Association. These
achievements highlighted both her clinical promise and academic strength.
Volunteer Work and Philanthropy
She has given her time and expertise during significant crises, assisting with relief efforts
following Hurricanes Katrina and Harvey. She has also been a dedicated volunteer with Moms
Demand Action for 15 years and with Physicians for a decade, supporting evidence-based
measures to prevent gun violence.
Her role during the COVID-19 pandemic was notable. She consistently raised awareness and
educated the public on prevention, vaccines, and evolving treatments. Her voice and expertise
were featured in the Houston Chronicle in discussions of COVID-19, RSV, pediatric safety, and
gun violence prevention.
Christina Propst has also supported charitable organizations across Houston and beyond. She
has contributed to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, the Houston Food
Bank, the Periwinkle Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, UNICEF, MS-150, Habitat for Humanity,
Harmony House, Interfaith Ministries Meals on Wheels, Bike for Houston, the Hermann Park
Conservancy, and Trees for Houston. Each reflects her broader commitment to improving
community health, education, and quality of life.
Her Personal Life
Christina Propst, MD, balanced family and career from early on, welcoming her first child during
her residency. Together with her husband, she has raised her children while actively working in
pediatrics and participating in her local community. They recently celebrated their 30th wedding
anniversary, looking ahead to many more years together. Outside of medicine, she enjoys
spending time with family and friends, gardening, sailing, traveling, engaging in outdoor
activities, and continuing her volunteer efforts in Houston.
