large territory. A huge population and
an ancient history. With written
records dating back 4,000 years, it is
recognized as one of the four great
ancient civilizations of the world,
together with ancient Egypt and India.
Moreover, it is the only ancient
civilization that has continued to this
very day.

lined coat.

from woven straw.
• Rich men and women wore robes of silk tied at the waist
with a large sash. They wore silk slippers with wooden
soles on their feet.
• The color yellow was for emperor only. Poor were
allowed to wear only blue or black clothing
